There have been quite a few threads about our favourite movies...but what about the Tearjerkers...what films actually made you cry?

I have to confess that any film with an animal in it that gets hurt or dies gets me every time..

Marley & Me
The Incredible Journey
Lassie
Greyfriar's Bobby
Bambi
The Lion King

I also wept after Titanic and Bridges of Madison County.

What makes you reach for the tissues....that goes for all you tough guy's too!

I can't think of a film that has made me cry. Certainly not a fictional film. I will say that there are a few films that have made me think, "Well that's f-cked up!"

    Like Sophie's Choice.

    Million Dollar Baby

I'm sure there are more, but that's the one I can think of off the top of my head.

Hachi a Dog's Tate with Richard Gere - OMG! So glad I was not out in public when I saw this. It's not about a dying dog (Marley & Me) - It's different.

Taking Chance with Kevin Bacon - very moving.

Me and my finacee cried with Marley and me, ever time! Steel magnolias makes me cry as well, as well as some Nicholas Sparks ones.

Not from the movie...my fiance MADE me watch it, when they got to the wedding bit I thought it was over! I teared up when I realized we were only about 20 minutes in and I had another hour to endure...

I know that's not the point of the thread, just being light =)
  • I'm not a man, but I did cry after "Old Yeller". My husband cried during The Patriot, but don't tell nobody!

My husband turned into a blubbering fool during Marley & Me..

"It reminds me of Dusty...**sobs** he was such a good dog".

I felt bad giggling but it was just a bit unexpected.

He also got a bit upset during SATC as well!!!! Especially when Carrie was bashing Big with her flowers in the middle of the road...he was like "what an ahole he is!!!"

My hub cries in 2 type of movie scenarios.

    1) Something to do with an animal, like Marley and Me.
    2) When it's a situation that has to do with brothers. Guess he thinks about his brother?

Band of Brothers (last episode is really a tearjerker for me)
    Grave of the Fireflies

I know there's more that are just escaping me right now...

If you don't cry watching Marley and Me you may have an emotional disorder.

13 Going on 30. Because I'm not a HUGE chick-flick type o' gal, but this is one of my favorite movies. And EVERYtime it's on I HAVE to watch it and my husband hates it. haha!

p.s. I just have a thing for Mark Ruffalo.

Marley & Me, I went with the family and had no idea it was a sad movie. We had just put down our Yellow Lab that was a member of our Family for 10 years about 2 weeks prior. It was brutal and I almost left the theater.

That and RobotJox when he saves the girl that drugs him and steals his giant robot, and then they know they finally found true love..

I didn't realize how many movies made me cry until I tried to think of just a couple.

    The Patriot
    Remember the Titans
    A Girl Like Me
Moulin Rouge (I know, I'm a dork. lol One of my guy friends actually cries watching this too)
    The Green Mile
    Boys Don't Cry
My Sister's Keeper (the book had me crying for a good hour)
    Rent

And since it has appeared so many times on this list, I guess I'll have to watch Marley and Me ASAP so I can see what all the fuss is about.

Ugh. Now I need to go have a sad movie marathon....

My husband cried watching My Sister's Keeper. Guess he was thinking about our daughters.
