@tammierlewis - I also cheered and then almostbcried when I finished the second 5 minute run. It's not like I'm overly fast - I reduced my speed from 7.3km/hr to 7.1km/hr and that felt perfect! As most people said, the speed will increase with more training; endurance is the aim of the game.5 -
My husband and I can touch our sides and feel where our ribs are, instead of just goosh. That's lying down, anyway. When I'm sitting up, I still feel goosh.15

For the past six months, I've been taking the stairs at work instead of the elevator. I always dreaded having to walk to the third floor because it left me feeling out of breath and light headed. I was so frustrated for the longest time because it never got any easier, but I kept at it. Today, for the first time, I got to the third floor and felt totally fine! I was able to have a conversation right when I got there instead of needing 5 minutes to catch my breath. Feeling super pumped35

I picked my new baby up on the weekend (Yeah, I'm slow with the updates) I out photos up on my Facebook and received a lot of "Looking good" "where have you gone?" Type comments. Just another reaffirmation that what I'm doing *IS* working and others can actually see it now 😁16

Thank you! Week 4 scared me for a while and it was more about my perception and belief that 5 minutes of running was unattainable. Nope, I smashed it!
I'm doing C25K extra slow - I will be on Week 4 for a couple of weeks, which is what I have done since Week 1. It helps building my endurance and ensures I'm not reigniting injuries.
I am so happy that I achieved this huge milestone - it's showing me how much I have learned, and am still learning on this journey 😊10 -
Wore a cute skirt at the hips instead of at the waist since it fit better there!
Also I've noticed a bunch of my stuff looks longer now, which is great for some of my skirts, not so great for my leggings10 -
bought new swimwear for my holidays - because the old one was falling off when I tried it on last weekend14

I have two. As I walked from the pool to the showers/locker room yesterday, I looked down and thought, "What's wrong with my thigh? It's sticking out so weird." As I felt it to see if something was wrong, I realized there's nothing wrong. I just have some muscle definition I'm not used to seeing. When I gained weight, I decided that rather than resize my wedding band, I'd just get a fat guy ring for cheap from Amazon. Yesterday when I was at my son's baseball game, I was clapping for him, and my ring nearly fell off. My original wedding band fits again.36

Keep at it and dont be put off ever. It's a tried and tested program and near the end I got freaked out at how much it ramped up the running. Stick with it, its completely doable and the satisfaction when you finish it is awesome.
I now easily slowly run for 30 minutes, my next goal is to actually run the 5K. I need more minutes or faster legs! Either way, I am getting there and while I am not a fan of running, I am loving the fitness.
I sprinted for the bus on Monday, the driver waited and commented how fast I was ! That was my best NSV.

I ate like a pig today—way over goal—but then took an unplanned trip to the gym and worked off 400 calories of it. While it's true you can't exercise away a bad diet, I was pleased to see myself shake off my food-coma-evening-at-home inertia and do something positive in response to my earlier misstep.33

I want to get to the point of running for 30 mins too before I get to 5K. I finally realised I was chasing the 5K before I had the endurance. This time I swapped it and it's working for me - get the endurance before the chasing the km's.

I went hiking for the first time today. It was a small hike (one of the foothills of the Adirondacks), but I finished it. I was huffing and puffing while we did it, but I'm not even that sore tonight. I'd have never done this almost 50lbs ago.
That's amazing! I hike many times per week. When I started doing that 9 months ago it was so hard! Hiking has changed my body, mind and sprit in ways I cannot even describe. I hope you get to enjoy it again. 🙂8 -
My first is that I went hiking today and forgot snacks plus I forgot to eat lunch. Firstly who am I now that I might forget a meal? Secondly I used to always, always bring food on trail. I mean God forbid I get hungry or my energy crashes. Lol. I hiked almost 5 miles and was fine.
Second NSV is that my weight transition clothes are too big. I just got into most of these clothes about 2 months ago and they are now falling off. I've got about 20 pounds to go and guess I need another wardrobe before the final, goal weight clothes fit.
Good problems to have. 🙂21 -
1) It's the dreaded exam period in my house. My son, who has been home educated from birth, started at college last September so that he'd have some recognised qualifications. Anyway, it was his first exam this morning and I was more anxious and stressed than he was, even though he got a really good grade on his last mock and I know that he knows the subject. My usual way of coping with stress is to open the cupboards/fridge/jars and eat.
Today, I did NOT do this. And now I know that he got through it and was happy with his paper, I am not even thinking of going there, even though my stomach is still in knots.
2) Have re-started the bridging program between C25K and a 10K. I've been running 5kms on a regular basis snce completing the C25K two years ago but my speed hasn't improved at all. It's easier to run now than I ever imagined it to be but I just wasn't making any progress with speed (or distance, come to that). So, I'm back on a training program, which feels good!24 -
Logged 1000 days today!, none of them perfect but more good than bad, logged regardless. Lost 103lbs, now for final push, got too comfortable, want to lose 30-40lb more, here’s to the next 1000 days. Never committed so long to healthy lifestyle before, kinda proud of myself 😊47

I don't know if I ser it as a NSV, but I am down .5 size in shoes. I have never in my adult life, that I recall, a size 6.5 in shoes. It definitely opens my eyes to where fat stores are.18

Based on how my feet look when I wear strappy shoes (which I don't often for this reason), people can carry a surprising amount of fat in their feet, lol. I think it depends on the foot, but I've already dropped 1/2 size and will probably drop another 1/2 before I'm done losing.13 -

I know right? It's like, "awesome!" and then it's like "wait, I have to buy new clothes to look presentable". I also did the belt thing until I had to suck it up and do some thrift shopping.10
