You don't have to weigh everyday if you don't want to. I see members here put "DNW" - Did Not Weigh on certain days. I like that about this group!! No pressure and lots of support! I felt the same way at first about weighing everyday, but it helps me be accountable even more to myself when I see my weight every morning. Makes me reset my dedication to my ultimate goal.10 -

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

Pretty good day yesterday, but today will be better since we polished off the rhubarb ginger crisp last night. I have today's food planned, plus a walk and some gardening if the rain will please stop for a few hours! I have a new trellis to put up - yesterday I painted it a gorgeous shade of violet and I have a yellow clematis to grow up it. Maybe I'll post a pic when I get it up. (The neighbors in my very beige & gray neighborhood will be in shock!)

05/23 156.6 Hi Friends! I am back again. I have not been posting and half logging, but losing nonetheless thankfully. I am finally getting *back*to that place where I understand that I need to feed for fuel, not for boredom, sadness, variety. Pleasure is ok, as long as I am aware of it. And protein bars are evil. Candy in disguise. I had re-addicted myself to salted caramel power crunch bars, and would eat one, two, sometimes 3 a day. Same calorie content in one bar as in a pack of peanut butter cups. So they have been eliminated from my diet, no more ordering a case at a time and hiding them in my closet. We are going on a family trip to Maui on 6/3 so this helps with the motivation to stay focused. My husband has lost 30 lbs on his own program over the past 7 weeks, which also is a great motivator. Food=Fuel

I am a 50 year old 5'5" woman. I am trying to get healthier to avoid diabetes and all of the problems that come from being overweight.

05/23 185.2 Nice to start the round with a drop that I was not expecting! Annual trip to the ballgame with DS1 so ball park food for dinner swapped beer for diet coke and gave him my fries but still expected a sodium jump. The game went to 13 innings so we didn't get home until the wee small hours of the morning so I will have to be extra vigilant about my choices today. I have now done 7 days of no sweets- need to keep the streak going.

@SheilaBoneham good for you putting in a splash of color! Everything here is tan or brown. A friend who is a realtor posted a video yesterday of a property for sale and ranted and rave about how it was so beautifully professionally decorated but everything in the house was brown. Tan walls, bamboo brown floors, tan granite counters, there was one picture in the master bedroom that had some orange in it. I hate brown and tan and gray.3

This is my first week back following Slimming World alongside calorie counting so this is my first round of 10 days to give me some accountability.
10K steps daily (a bit harder to do on the weekends but will try)
23/05 - 141.5lbs (-1lb) Was expecting a maintain or small gain this morning as I had the most amazing banana ice cream float last night, it was free so who am I to turn down free ice cream?! 2 gym sessions on the planner for today; getting my new weight training programme from the gym instructor at lunchtime, then it's circuits after work before my usual 20 min walk home. I always tend to eat 'better' on the days I exercise so expecting a loss tomorrow

05/23- 321.8- I’m really surprised by this. Yesterday was a celebration day in my house, and we had pie. I ate a large portion. And then me and my husband stayed up till 4 am playing a game together. And I woke up feeling swollen, with lots of inflammation. So maybe it’s a false low, or maybe I didn’t mess things up too much
