Guys keep hitting on me every time I step away from my husband! First at a concert my husband and I went to last weekend, I was walking to the restrooms and smiled at a guy I passed and his wife says, “Would you stop making eyes at other women?” Oops, I guess she meant me! Then this weekend my husband and I went to a festival and did the 5k there. We took turns using the porta potties before and after the race, and during the maybe five minutes total he was gone, three different men came over and started chatting me up. My husband came back and was shaking his head and laughing, saying he can’t take me anywhere. Since my husband and I go to most social events together I guess usually other men see him and don’t bother me, so I’m not used to this! It’s particularly flattering after running a race in the heat since I was the opposite of put-together, no makeup, hair stuffed in a ponytail.15

I took a yoga class last summer with an instructor new to me and was fat shamed. She literally looked at me, rolled her eyes, and though she didn’t say it, I clearly heard the thought, “What are you doing here?”First and only time in my life I have felt fat shamed. I always work hard and try every position an instructor gives, even if I can’t do it, so I felt she was particularly disrespectful and hurtful. I never took her class again. Yeah, I can bear a grudge with the best of them.
Well, I needed a class Saturday and hers was the slot I needed so I sucked it up and took it.
I hit every arm balance she introduced and, since I’m working on headstand away from the wall, I held tripod position, balancing my knees on my elbows, though I didn’t put my feet up in the air. I noticed that most the other students weren’t hitting or even trying half of them, so I was silently proud. (Arm balances are my goal for 2019.)
After class she walked up to me, clearly puzzled and asked what my name was, and told me what a good job I’d done.
You should have seen her face when the Pilates instructor walked in just then and said,”Hey, Mel! Staying for Pilates like usual? I’ll check you in.”
BTW, I just turned 58.
This, my friends, was an NSV of the first order. I would frame it and hang it on the wall, if I could.50 -
I spend the weekend with adult friends with no kids (I have a 7 year old at home) and didn't go crazy with food or alcohol. I didn't track, but I was aware of my food intake and didn't overdo it too much. And I even got up both mornings for a run!14

Went to a music festival over the weekend and had several NSVs:
1. I wore a strapless romper.
2. We walked over 25 miles for the weekend, on top of hardly ever sitting down.
3. I usually pig out at festivals, there is good food and beer everywhere. This time, I had one or two things that sounded good and split it with my boyfriend. I actually ate under my calorie goal everyday.21 -
I went to a friends b-day party and although I am sure I went over my calories (I didn't end up tracking) I know I didn't end up eating nearly as much as I would have in the past! I would sometimes reach for something and catch myself, asking are you hungry or just want the food? I did have some things just because I wanted them but in way smaller portions!
Also I did not drink alcohol!!!! Normally I just drink less because I'm worried about the calories but this time I just didn't feel like drinking! It was really nice waking up and not feeling like crap the next day.20 -
My most recent NSV. Pulled out a fanny pack that I hadn't touched since last February. I hadn't adjusted the straps or anything since then.
This is how loose it is on me now.
I still have a good bit of weight to lose still, but this just shows me how far I've come.

That's a great visual, @LiLee2018!!!3

3 reps of 30 second dead hang and 25 neutral grip assisted pull-ups today!12
-
It’s only been 20days of tracking (lots of those days I was over) but
1. I can already see + notice a difference in my clothes fitting better.
2. I’ll need to find a used bench + bar & plates soon since I’ve now surpassed the dumbbells I have.

Went to a local burger place and sat in a booth instead of a table. Before I didn't fit in their booths. Now I have room to spare. Also I didn't eat much and stayed way below my target for lunch.15

Pushed out my stomach as far as I could (just a wild hair:) and could still see my feet!! Used to have to suck it in to see my feet. 🤣18

I was called skinny mini from someone at the gym who had gaind weight (hope I can inspire her) and another lady I hadn't seen for a long time said I bet you are proud of yourself, you would not have worn that skimpy top before and she is right, 40 lbs heavier I would never wear that top. Felt good.19

Got to share the bad with the good, call it a reverse NSV.
Recently shared how Garmin gave me a VO2 Max bump to 44. Yesterday, they took it away so it’s back to 43.
I’ll reclaim it soon.10 -
I worked in my yard for 4 hours yesterday, which is good by itself but the NSV for me was I did it in shorts and a sports bra, which is kind of crazy but it was hot! I was going to put a tank top on and thought what's the difference? About six inches of tummy and back... So I did it. After the first 5 minutes, I forgot about and just worked. I would never have done that a year ago. Not that I look like I should now, but now I have the confidence to do it. That's my NSV.26

I've been reading this thread since I started three weeks ago. I had my first check-in today and I have lost 2% body fat and 2 inches off my waist! I can't wait to contribute even more NSV's as I go! Oh, and my PT said I am strong, I never would have thought that about myself.16

My stomach not sticking out over my seatbelt and wearing crop tops (220 lbs > 150 lbs)22

Congrats! That is something to be proud of.2 -
For the second time in 2 weeks, while walking my dog, I have been stopped by 2 different people I have never spoken to in my neighbourhood. They both commented on how much weight my husband and I have lost and think we are looking great, one even mentioned they only recognized us based on the dog! They asked how we have done it and they didn't even glaze over when I mentioned calorie counting. 1 did volunteer that Keto is a great way to eat and my response was works for some but definitely not for me. The best thing about both of these encounters is I feel like I have stalled recently and don't even see the progress but I guess after finally shedding my winter coat the neighbours I have never talked to can see a difference. Definitely helps my motivation to keep going to make it to my goal.23

My waistline is down 1.5 inches in the last month and I am able to do more high intensity workouts. Albeit short intense workouts, but I'm getting there.

I have some super old school wall exercising charts in the little workout room and here's the first one--it's the warm-up routine--BEFORE I get started with the other bodyweight and lifting workout routines--these big pictures show me what to do all week (Sunday-Monday). I've had them for many, many, years and today I attempted the "warm-up" exercises and didn't get even CLOSE to completing them, BUT I've started and am so looking forward to being able to complete the entire routine. That's going to take a lot of time for me to fully accomplish--but it's on and thrilling too
Today, I did the 10 minute stationary bike, leg stretch, 10 push-ups, 10 sit-ups, 10 arm curls with 5lbs weights on both arms...got a long way to go before I can get thru the warm-ups alone, let alone the Mon-fri stuff, but a super NSV for me today!

My BMI is in the “overweight” category instead of “obese” Feels really good to not be considered clinically obese.43

Me too!!!!! It's an amazing feeling.10 -
We had our A1C tests done yesterday. Today I had a follow up appointment with my doctor. Hubby's is tomorrow.
For those who are not familiar with A1C, if you're above 5.7, you're in danger. Above 6.5 means you're full-blown diabetic. I've been as high as at least 11, maybe 12, but I'm working on it very hard. Last time, it was 8.6. Doctor had set a goal for me of below 7.5.
So, she hadn't yet seen the results of yesterday's A1C, but the lab had e-mailed it to me, so I knew already. Doctor came into the exam room, sat down at the computer monitor, called up the results of the test....
6.7.
She actually yelled for joy.
Oh, and she officially took "morbidly obese" off my medical chart.
Hubby's was 6.0. Even better than mine. He's only in the "prediabetic" range now. Can't wait to see HIS doctor's reaction tomorrow.57 -

That an incredible achievement. You should be so proud of yourself and the work you have done.2 -
Monday, I was in a meeting with our CEO and he congratulated me on my weight loss and said he was really proud of me because he knows personally how tough it can be to lose weight.
Then yesterday, I was walking into work and a guy I worked with regularly when I was in the warehouse post-college said I was looking great and smaller than he'd ever seen me and that I had motivated him to lose some weight too. He just hadn't had a chance to congratulate me yet.
For reference, I've lost 130 pounds in the last 8 1/2 months. Feels good especially considering I still feel like I have at least 80 pounds left to lose.39 -
I haven’t really had one in a while, but I’m noticing lately that the loose skin on my upper arms is definitely tightening up! I have been maintaining a 44 pound loss since October, so it’s a gradual process but it’s happening:).23
