Wow, that is fantastic! Solid work!!3 -
I hate shopping!! But... for the first time in years I was forced to go because my belt was out of holes and my clothes were literally falling off me. 🤣 So with my cart over-loaded as usual ('normally' I'd have to try a dozen items to find one that fit), I entered the dreaded hall of mirrors. OMG, I was down two sizes and everything fit or was too BIG!! Someday when I figure out how to load pictures on MFP, I'll share my success. Thanks everyone for this awesome thread that keeps me so inspired!! We all rock. 🤗25

Thanks so much, way to go for you too on the clothes shopping.4 -
I WILLINGLY wore a dress for the first time in forever, to a wedding this weekend. And I actually felt cute, rather than out of place and wanting to cover up or go hide23

I Started Strong curves this last week and MY GLUTES ARE FINALLY ACTIVATING.
I’m familiar with lifting, I’ve worked out with fitness blender (fb) for several years, but after this 3rd baby (he’s 1yr) I could tell I needed to follow along with something that could help increase my glute strength but that I could do at my own pace. I LOVE fb. But when there is a video it’s very distracting to follow along with it and have to press pause constantly b/c my particular body weaknesses this time around mean I need to move slow with low weight to keep form. Isn’t it funny how we change over time? Years ago I NEEDED fb videos t keep me motivated to finish all the way through a workout! Kelli and Daniel are still going! I must keep up! Ha!
All that to say, I’m SO pleased that I can feel them activating, I’m lifting heavier each day (moving slow and feeling things out) and my low back isn’t angry at me! What a successful adventure in slowing down to assess the problem + finding a solution that works!
I’m clinging to this win right now as I’m in the beginning stages of weaning the baby + tracking again. I’ve been pregnant/nursing/pregnant/nursing for 4yrs and when my calories drop too low (below 2400) the milk dries up.
I’m soooooo ready to finally be able to drop this extra fluff!!12 -
Accomplished a goal of completing 100 bar dips in 15 minutes today by completing 100 reps in 14:37.11

Today's exercise walk was completed in 4 minutes less time than the last time I walked that route.19

This! So much this!
I actually wore a dress to the races on Saturday. I felt way out of my comfort zone, especially when it came time to dance, I'm a jeans and shirt girl, but my sister and mother convinced me to wear a dress. I had to borrow one off Mum coz my couple that I own are too big now. I actually got a lot of compliments and was told I should wear dresses more often.

Level 5.5 on the beep test at bootcamp today! My previous pb was 2.7 in February last year, the intstructor DID say last week that my cardio fitness has improved out of sight in the last 8 months or so, I guess he was right! 😁😁😁
Also, 5 minutes 33 seconds on the kilometre warm up jog- another pb! 😁13 -
I actually hit my calorie targets through a three-day weekend!31

Seeing my Fitbit cardio score move up a point and having to throw away what was my favorite pair jeans because they're too big24

Great accomplishment! My most recent blood pressure check was also a happy one since I went from a high of 138/86 last May to 112/68. Amazing what paying closer attention to your diet and increasing exercise can do!8 -
The shirt I bought on sale two months ago that was too small, but I thought would fit by summer, fits and I wore it to work today! The shirt is a medium, the pants are 14s. One year ago my shirt would have been an extra large, the pants 18s. I'm sure the novelty of these things will lessen but right now I'm still kind of amazed.23

did lots of swimming in my new costumes and didn't feel like a hippo14

I just feel thin today. I looked in the mirror and didn't feel like anything needed "fixing" related to my weight.36

It may not be that way everyday so I'm appreciating it while I have it and as I continue to work towards my goal, will probably have more days like it. I have been admiring my wrists especially today.8 -
NSV: I've had a few NSVs lately, but I think the one that resonates most with me is the fact that despite random weight gain and a weird stall, I stuck with what I knew. I didn't get (too) depressed or sad. I was confused, yes, but I knew what I was doing should work and the random weight increase ended up getting explained later, but it took a month to wind down, almost. I took a couple weeks off of weighing (which for me is a big deal since I like numbers, but I also realize that data is not > mental health and it was a weak mental health month for me).
I'm not where I thought I would be for my big trip, but I feel better about not trying to push it now, too. I am making progress, and that is ultimately what matters. So that is my NSV: that no matter what, I know what to do and I know that even when it seems impossible, I can execute against what I've learned throughout this entire journey.20 -

You got this. Your downward trend has been amazing and you can enjoy your trip safe in the knowledge you can get back to your normal routine afterwards. Enjoy!4 -

We just returned last week from a month long trip to a couple of countries, touring very rural parts of Eastern Europe. We got little internet in the mountains there, so it was nearly impossible to log foods, plus there was sooooo much of it- usually half a dozen or more different foods for every meal, plus fresh baked breads and homemade cheeses, morning noon and night. People generously shared their food (which was delicious and fresh!) and were visibly hurt if you didn’t eat lots of everything or partake of homemade wine vodka and cha-cha, or the homemade baklavas and honey cake they kept honoring us with. (It really was an honor. Lovely people!)
Our room in one town was literally directly over a famous chocolate supermarket owned by a former president. Apparently they loathe him, but recommend his chocolate, and we were happy to sample. Believe me when I say, MFP hell is being able to smell chocolate throughout your room for several days.
I shrugged my shoulders and entered 8000 generic calories a day, figuring it wouldn’t be too far off, and expected to be up 12-15 pounds.
I was up less than six pounds, and half of that was gone in a couple of days.
My NSVs:
1.) I got back on the wagon immediately, and have done great, even “saving up” calories for a special dinner. It would have been so easy to revert to bad habits, especially after all that chocolate, and I didn’t, and I am immensely proud of myself for that.
2.) in spite of feeling fuggy with the “extra” weight, I wore a bathing suit to the pool yesterday. I have not worn a bathing suit in public in 25 years. I was very self conscious, but managed. That’s a big stinking deal to me.
3.) My youngest, who lives overseas, joined us for part of our trip, and was thrilled with the changes. She kept hugging me and trying to pick me up. After a day together, she said, “you know mom, I always wondered where I got my narrow face from. It was you, but I didn’t know it before!”38 -
I decided that finishing the last 3.5 miles of 9.5 mile run was better done without my shirt on than getting way too chaffed, and I don't go around in public without my shirt on (even avoid it at the pool).18

Went grocery shopping yesterday and my regular check-out lady said with shock and joy..."WOW, your grocery bill is way lower than usual these days". I thought about it and said, it's because I'm not eating as much as I used to when I was obese, and I'm eating differently than I used to. She smiled at me and said, "impressive and way to go". Got in my car and thought about it. This weight blastification will not only help us get slimmer and trimmer, but will also help our wallets too!25

I went home and ate dinner instead of drive through or a restaurant43

I’ve had my calorie goal set a little higher than MFP generates b/c
1. I’m still breastfeeding my 1yr old (he’s in process of weaning himself) and I can’t be bothered to manually add back the calories every day. It’s easier to tack on an extra hundred in the initial estimate rather than put it in as a deficit and eat them back every. single. day.
2. Sometimes it’s easier to rebuild habits slowly instead of moving to a smaller calorie number all at once.
3. I lift and again, imputing my workouts (which change daily) is a tedious thing. A VERY tedious thing. Half the time the exercises I’m performing aren’t even listed under MFP exercise options. I’ve previously used a different TDEE calculator to estimate my needs.
What’s the NSV here?
I’m ready to bump my daily goal a little lower. Eat a little less, lose a little faster. (I was previously on target for .5lb/wk)10 -
Big NSV for me when reviewing my Garmin info from yesterday and getting feedback of my ticker’s ability to cover a lot of heart beat range territory.
