Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: My weight has been on the high end of my range this week, which I'm not happy about, but I did eat out a lot this week and I didn't get anywhere enough water, so I'm pretty sure it's that. It's still always hard to see higher weights on the scale even when you know that you didn't actually gain a couple of pounds overnight.5 -

<153? No
Successes: Tracking all, getting more sleep by changing habits slowly, wt lifting 6/7 days, feeling leaner & stronger, cut sodium back, things are good.
Challenges: working to figure out what I should be eating with vastly increased weight training & Ex bike versus 10-11K steps a day.
Wt is up .6lb in 159 days, clothes fit, but I’m above 153. Figuring muscle gain is worth it. Cautiously watching the whole constellation.
After 6 weeks, Looks like My deficit is 100-125 calories too low per day. Am adjusting...
Things I need to improve in June:
Continue to make baby changes to get more sleep
Trim a few calories each meal.
I hope you all have a great week’

Struggles this week: Food has been my struggle. The licks and bites. But though the scale says otherwise, I have been improving with my eyes open. I am not doing as good a job as I would like with stretching.
Successes: I have done better in the gym. More full body type work outs with sprints. I started the 30 day shred and convinced another family member to try it with me. I am hoping the weight gain is water and new muscle formation. I have hope.4 -

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: Another quiet week at home with a day out on Wednesday – to the theatre in Bath. We finished the day with a meal at our favourite Chinese buffet restaurant. Lots of delicious food including dessert. We had friends round to dinner on Saturday evening so I had three days of lots of activity – housework, cooking, even mowing the lawn (before it started raining). The net result is another small weight loss.
I think I'm still in weight-loss mind set and finding it difficult to let go.
However, I'm away in the motorhome again this week, so that will be another test.4 -

Success/struggles of the week: this is the 3rd week of being slightly above my range despite working out hard and healthy eating. Tbh I'm getting pretty fed up. I thought it might be water weight and inflamation from starting to workout again but it's been a while now. The good news is that it's motivated me to put more effort into my activity levels, and I'm feeling strong and energetic... Just also feeling fat and bloated. 😂7 -

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week:My weight has stayed about the same all week. I had another big eating weekend. There was a baby shower for my niece that I helped with and then we had BBQ that evening which always causes a jump on the scale. I did have a nice long 10 mile run yesterday, and my activity has been good. I'm still struggling a bit with feeling bad that my weight seems to be up lately. But it is still nicely within range. It actually took me a while to stop losing. My original goal was 135 but as my activity increased my weight continued to go down. I think it has finally settled around 117. And even though I prefer a trend of 116, I just need to remind myself that 117 is a really good weight for me and I need to stop being so concerned with the number. And i need to remember that 117 is definitely better than 195. lol7 -

Successes/struggles: Was on vacation last week. I did not log but I thought I did a great job of eating within my calorie range. I exercised a lot including running nearly every morning, a few bike rides, stand-up paddle boarding, swimming in the ocean and even a trip to the gym on a rainy day. However, the scale read an outrageous 109 this morning! I am hoping it's water weight and will go away soon (Wednesday is the day I record). I am dropping my calorie goal down a bit and will be logging everything this week. I need to get back on track!6 -

Successes/Struggles: I reached my two year maintenance "anniversary" at the end of May. It is still so hard for me to believe I have kept the weight off for this long. I spent most of my life losing weight and immediately regaining it -- and then some. Although I am overjoyed that my weight has been stable, I still don't feel like I fully understand my relationship with food. I've done a lot of "self-work" to stop abusing food and to limit habitual eating, but I can't quite let my guard down as much as I would like. I guess my issues with food need to be actively managed -- rather than "cured," so-to-speak. I may always struggle with emotional eating, and lately, I'm trying to accept that part of myself with a great deal less shame.
As always, I love reading everyone's posts. You folks are so inspiring! Thank you!9 -
@HarperAnn6 -Congrats on your incredible weight loss and for keeping it off! I definitely know what you mean about not being able to let your guard down as much as you would like. I honestly believe that is the case with almost everyone and I think that keeping that guard up is what makes maintaining possible. Unfortunately, we live in a food-centric society and the temptations to overindulge are constant. We all need to be vigilant. Maintenance can be an ongoing battle. I just try and stay focused on the improved quality of life I have from not carrying around a ton of extra weight and it makes those "sacrifices" seem like a no-brainer.3

Success/Struggles: Off the bike now until late July at the earliest. Between less activity and more time to think about eating I'm having a little trouble keeping to my calorie goal, hopefully I'll get a handle on things soon. It's unrealistic to think that I won't be sidelined with injury other times and I need to work on a strategy for coping without using food as the answer.
Wishing everyone a successful upcoming week!7 -

Successes: Tracking all, getting more sleep by changing habits slowly, wt lifting 6/7 days, feeling leaner & stronger, cut sodium back, cut fat back. Muscles!
Challenges: I’m decreasing calories of what I eat, but my body seems to be much more efficient. According to my Apple Watch, I creating good deficits, but I can see my heart rate doesn’t go as high when I walk or ride exercise bike as it used to.
Since Jan 1, I’ve gained 1.44 lbs in 165 days. Works out to 30 ,calories extra per day. Better maintenance than I’ve ever done in my life, but I really feel better at 153lbs.
Continuing to adjust - in for the long haul.
Things I need to improve in June:
Continue to make baby changes to get more sleep✅
Keep watching & reducing calories ✅
Be Careful: Family visiting...for 10 days with trip for 5 of them. Got a place with a kitchen, so I could eat at “home” more. With wt on scale up, I’m definitely going to be careful.
I hope you all are doing well.
💕
Maddie
P.S. Any thoughts, suggestions, theories, tips from experienced maintainers are welcome, particularly if you switched from primarily walking to gym workouts/ex bike, treadmill & dance.
Thanks!,2 -

Thank you so much for your positive words! You are so right! The “spark” that keeps me going is thinking about how much better my life is without the weight. I think you articulated that so well in your post. You gave me a great reminder to reflect upon the quality of my life more often:)1 -

Successes/struggles: I’m finding things quite tough at the moment. Work is so hectic that keeping up the exercise routine is exhausting. But if I don’t run or train I feel frustrated and grumpy, so kind of settling for tired but calm! I’m a teacher and we have 5 weeks left until the summer break. Hoping I can just ride it out and push on them try and take better care of myself. Starting with fixing my sleep issues.

BUT, I have lost a bit more weight fell just below lower point or maintenance range this morning. For the moment, I will continue at TDEE, but may start eating a bunch more if this loss is real. Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: Struggled with exercise this week. We were away in my motorhome for 4 nights – so driving 4.5 hours on Monday and Friday. We did a lot of walking on the 3 days between but obviously no gym work and I didn’t even do my abs and planks which I usually do every day and, to be honest, I could perfectly well do in the van – I have done before.
More success with food though. We took our own food for breakfast and cooked in the van 3 nights so I was able to include lots of veggies and fruit. On Tuesday we had trouble finding a nice café for lunch and I had to order a tuna mayo baguette but I successfully left half the bread! I scooped out the tuna and left half the baguette behind. We had a pub meal one evening and I left pasta on my plate. It was seafood linguine so I picked out the fish and prawns and left quite a bit of the pasta. We didn’t have dessert in the pub, walked back to the van and had a small bowl of strawberries and watermelon – very refreshing after creamy pasta.
Have a good week everyone!
