I'm wearing a pencil skirt today....with my blouse tucked in, and I don't hate it31

My youngest son and I have been lifting every Saturday doing chest exercises. We both started out at a max of 135 about 8 months ago. I just bench pressed 210 pounds on a 1 rep max. My son benched 220 pounds, 5 pounds away from 2 plates. I am proud that our strength training is paying off.28

I went kayaking with my entire wedding party on Saturday... and wore a two piece bikini. And I took my shirt and shorts off before we got on the water and never put them back on.
I even had a little tummy roll when I sat down in my kayak, and it didn't even bother me to the point that I forgot about it30 -
Just talked myself down off the ledge from a pointless pancake binge.. i started making them and was about to put myself well over my calorie goal for no reason
I literally had to talk to myself "why are you doing this? " "you're not even hungry at this minute" "they don't even taste that good" "why are you doing this to yourself when you've already messed up the past few days- do you want to undo all the work you did last year? "
Ugh threw one in the bin and put the pan away. This is why I don't keep flour in the house- I only bought it to make something particular for my husband last week but the pancake making and scoffing is an old bad boredom binge eating habit from when I was a teenager. Luckily it's plain flour so they haven't been tasting that great.
Sorry for the long post just so glad I stopped myself this evening..
I completely understand, this is the basic gist of a conversation I have with myself way too often.6 -
I'm not sure about the whys, but my eyesight seems to be getting better. Things are not as "blurry" as they used to be and I don't seem to need my glasses as much. Whatever the reason, I'm so glad and count this as a NSV for sure!13

I got a swimsuit this summer that I actually feel nice in! And I went to a pool party not self conscious at all! I have NEVER felt nice in a swimsuit, since maybe I was a small child. It’s a one piece but I also got a two piece that I think I’ll be able to wear by end of summer. Down 60 pounds and feeling good!

I ran 3 miles in under 30 mins! When i first started running i could barely manage 2 miles at a 14 min/mile pace! Doing 3 miles at a 10 min mile pace was FAST for me!34

Maybe technically scale related but my husband and I have both lost enough weight that we are under the weight limit on his motorcycle.
I took my first motorcycle ride!42 -

It’s a PR simply because I have not run since forced to for the Presidents Physical Fitness test in elementary school nearly five decades ago (jeez that went fast!). Nothing scintillating, just alternated jogging and walking, but 2 miles averaging 12:51.
Bonus! I did my usual walk immediately afterwards and was surprised to find I shaved off over two minutes a mile on my walking pace.
Bit weird to know that I only run a couple minutes faster than I walk. 🤔
Next NSV will be Day 2.....
WHAAAAT????? This just absolutely made my day. Inspiring peeps...well that's something very special. And 12:51 after 5 decades??????? A Natural. You are a natural. Keep it pushin! So life giving!!!!!10 -
I wore a two-piece swimsuit without feeling self-conscious for the first time I can remember, probably since having children.
I also really enjoyed being healthy, we took the kids (with the family) on a small vacation with an indoor water park. I absolutely loved that I enjoyed climbing up and going down the water slides as much as my 6-year-old. I didn't get tired or worn out or feel the need to sit down and rest, I had the energy to keep up with my kid. I loved it.32 -

There's fat in your eyeball, socket, around the muscles that control your focus. It's a legitimate side effect of weight loss that it changes your eyesight. Make sure you get yours looked at so you don't make your eyes worse by using the wrong prescription long term.12 -
On Sunday I went for a 15 mile hike with the Ramblers Association, a significant proportion of which was uphill. Admittedly most of the group were at least 20 years older than me, but they're the kind of retirees who go on walking holidays in the Alps, and at the end of the hike I was comfortably up with the leaders. Then yesterday, in addition to the usual five miles or so I walk with my commute, I walked another three miles and did a 45 minute 'STRONG by Zumba' class.
Today I am much in need of a rest day, especially my glutes, but everything still basically functions. Not bad for someone who, a mere three years ago, couldn't walk more than 200 yards without pain!38 -

Aw thank you1 -
I've been on maintenance for like 9 years, so I don't get a lot of "victories" anymore, wellness and how clothes fit. But I did go to the doc recently and, admittedly, I should go to the doctor more often. I hadn't been to a doc in like 3/4 years. My BP was so low from all the cardio I do that the Phys Asst was freaking out. It was 95 over 50 but I felt great. The doc explained to her that my BP was ideal for a highly trained person. Going from someone 10 years ago that was prediabetic to being told that I'm in ideal shape was great to hear.
I also recently purchased more life insurance and at 54, that usually isn't cheap. I got the best rate out of 16 categories!28 -
Jogged home from work last night!!! 7 km but I got turned around at one point, it should only be 6.5km. I think it will take some time getting used to jogging with the extra weight of a backpack, I took a LOT of walking breaks but my time was not terrible! It took 1 hour, bussing home takes a bit less time plus my workout is already done when I get home so I can relax for the rest of the evening! I do look forward to getting faster though!34

I put my DH's jeans on today, and they buttoned comfortably. I still outweigh him by around 20lbs, but I also have an inch and a half on him...
I'll admit that getting into his pants usually means something ENTIRELY different.33 -

This is odd lol but I donate plasma frequently and my most recent NSV was fitting in a normal adult sized blood pressure cuff38

I'm in a pair of pants today that I haven't fit in comfortably in a while! and on top of that, they're a little big around the waist, and I feel so comfortable in them I'm wearing them with a tucked in shirt and belt. Workplace fashion, i'm back!16

What is an NSV?
NSV = Non-scale victory. I.e a personal win not measured on the the scale but still measurable. Such as completing a pull up or fitting into an old pair of pants that haven't fit in a long time. Or someone noticing you've lost weight. Anything that is important to you can be a NSV.
Such as I recently had to go down another hole on my belt loop.
Just read the post above and get some ideas.6 -

Went on vacation and only needed a seat belt extender for one out of 4 flights.
During my vacation, only one day came to less than 10,000 steps on the fitbit, and several were over 15,000. That's a lot for me!23 -

Close enough to being correct in explanation to be definitely be correct in conclusion. Heed the advice and get reexamined if you (anyone reading) ever notice vision changes with weight loss.

I still get surprised when I look around and see that I am not the fattest person in the room.18
