What things do you eat/drink that you dislike in the name of good health?

For me its broccoli and carrots. I steam them and I dislike them. I eat them everyday FIRST so I have the yummy stuff for afters. In the beginning I'd eat them while reading an article about how nutritious they are to keep me going. Now I just do it... Recently drinking water has become a chore too, but I still do that. As a ritual I drink two glasses of water every morning the moment I wake up but boy does it actually help!
So guys what about you? Any rituals to keep you on the straight an narrow?

Nothing.
P.s. start roasting your veggies instead of steaming. It makes a HUGE difference.30 -
I really don't eat or drink anything I don't like unless it's required for a medical procedure. The doctor recently made me drink barium. That was nasty and I won't do it again unless required.
Seriously, life is too short to eat stuff you hate.24 -

^^ My husband, who is anti-vegetable, will actually eat them roasted without complaints.9 -
I got myself to enjoy plain Greek yogurt instead of the flavoured variety. It wasn't easy at first but now I'm good with it.4

I don't do that. There is a tremendous variety of nutrient dense foods...there is no need to eat something I don't like when I can eat something I do like and get my nutrition in.19

Nothing. I'm not an especially picky eater but I do have plenty of dislikes, and I just eat tastier alternatives. Like, I hate kale, but love spinach. I always make sure to try things, because tastes always change, and cooking techniques make a difference. If I don't like it, I'm not going to waste my time.9

Nothing. There are a few things I tried preparing a few ways until I found one I liked because they were cheap and nutritious, but nothing I eat that I don't like.
And yeah, roasting saves so many things8 -
I don't think I really eat anything I don't like anymore. I think that was probably part of some failed other attempts at losing weight. "Oh buy brussel sprouts, they're healthy. You'll learn to like them." That never works as much as finding things I actually like. But tastes also change. A few years ago, I didn't like avocado or tomatoes. Now I love them, especially together. Part of what helped was finding fresh, really good ones, as opposed to just adequate ones. Quality of fresh fruits and veggies makes a big difference.
So I'm open to trying new things, and finding ways to incorporate more nutritious things in my diet. But there's a lot more out there with nutrients in it than just broccoli and carrots.6 -
I was not a veggie person at all. I am getting better and finding ways to prepare them that I enjoy. Air fryer and roasting our my go to's. I hate most veggies raw. My biggest obstacle is water. I drank a lot of soda prior to this journey and it is a hard change.4

My bitter protein shakes. I don't hate them but I don't love them but I find the taste helps my hunger and cravings.
I don't need them and I could just eat more chicken but it makes my macros happy so I do it.5 -

nothing. only some things out of politeness if i am a guest somewhere but not for heath5

This!
I mean, I need to doctor some stuff up like greek yogurt because I can't eat that plain and I get my protein from limited sources but it's good enough that I'll still eat it.
Otherwise, 100% enojoyable or else is goes on the bus stop bench for the homeless.4 -
Life is too short to eat food I don't enjoy, so I don't.5

I don't like being forced to eat maintenance calories for health reasons if I didn't have a chance to make a plan for how to use them. You could say that for the last few days about a third of everything I have eaten I have disliked.
Under normal situations though... nothing. I would have to have a really nervous doctor and a single source of the nutrient he was nervous about for me to eat something I didn't like.2 -
I don't necessarily *not like* vegetables, but I don't love them either. And in my perfect world I'd never eat them. But I try to change up the cooking style often, and baby carrots are easy enough to work in so I do it but I don't have to like it1

Lots of things. I'm surprised to hear so many people saying never. Salads and greens of all kinds especially. I'd never eat a leaf of any kind of lettuce, kale, cabbage, chard, spinach, etc ever again if I didn't think it was healthy. I dislike wheat/whole grain. I dislike quinoa, oats, all beans with the exception of refried in loads of fat and salt. I dislike lean meats like roasted chicken or broiled salmon and would only ever eat fried chicken/seafood and hamburger patties if lean protein weren't the "healthy" option.8

I drink psyllium in juice every morning for better digestion and to help reduce cholesterol. The consistency is really gross, so I chug it down fast.2

Try sprinkling a little grated parmesan on your broccoli- makes a huge difference, and not many calories4 -
Another vote for "life is too short to eat things I don't enjoy" . . . except, as has been previously noted, when served it at someone else's house, I'll eat it to be polite, or if I bought it as an experiment, I'll usually finish it even if it's "meh" (but not if it's super yucky).
I'd distinguish this from rigidly refusing to eat things out of prejudice, which can be a thing. I do think it's good to experiment with new foods, and to give them a fair try . . . which can include trying them several times, prepared in different ways.
Maybe this is just because I'm fortunate enough to enjoy a large range of foods, though. I'll admit I'm suspicious when people say they "hate all veggies", or something like that: Veggies are a very big and diverse category, with huge variations in flavor and texture. It seems like a person would really have to be trying, in order to hate them all.
Lots of things have similar nutrition to broccoli and carrots: Maybe eat some of those instead, if you like them better? Those blog-post lists of "superfoods" tend to glamorize certain foods, and ignore others that are equally (or more!) nutritious.7 -

When I was gaining weight I would crave salads, I ate seafood often, I had meatless days that featured beans, and ate plenty of grains. I do not like oatmeal so I didn't eat it then and I don't eat it now.4 -
Eat in a calorie deficit and avoid food like pizza, cookies, and cupcakes!17

I guess many of us just aren't super picky eaters.
Personally, I rarely eat a salad...I have to be in the mood for that and that mood doesn't strike often. There are plenty of other vegetables I do like and eat though, so it's no biggie that I'm not eating a bunch of salad.4 -

Why would these things need to be avoided unless you don't like them? I hate cake and I hate cupcakes so I do avoid them.9 -
I'm a weirdo who loves vegetables, especially roasted! I've been trying ones I've never tasted or cooked with and that's been fun.
I don't dislike anything I eat. The closest is Greek yogurt plain but I love it with a packet of Splenda and a bunch of cinnamon. I'm naturally not a big protein eater, so eating it 4 times a day to reach decent levels has been the most challenging.3 -
Something I decided very early on is that I would not eat or drink anything I don't like for the sake of health or weight loss. I doubt that there are any nutrients that can't be gotten in other forms.6
-
I can't think of anything that I eat on a regular basis that I dislike. I ran out of my protein powder a couple weeks ago, so I used some of my husband's ....BLECH! I finished my shake that morning and used it again the next, but I will definitely make sure I don't run out of mine again!2

Well I mean if calories and nutrition weren't a factor, I would happily subsist on a diet of pizza cheeseburgers wings and sushi. So obviously those things are a consideration. I eat some things I don't love because of the nutritional value, but I don't eat anything that I actively dislike. It sounds like you have a pretty picky palette so that does make it harder, but even so, some of things you mentioned you don't necessarily "have" to eat as part of health. Where are the fruits? Apples, oranges, pineapples, avocados, tomatoes, grapes, mangoes, the list goes on and on. There are a lot of refried bean options out there that are not terribly caloric and still carry the nutritional benefits of beans. You don't only have to eat your salmon broiled or your chicken roasted. You can add sauces or seasonings or cheese or other things. What about other lean meats like turkey or bison or venison?
My point is not that we never have to make food sacrifices for our health, but with thousands and thousands of foods out there, there is no reason we need to completely sacrifice our palette in the pursuit of health. There are always options that can satisfy both health and taste.8 -

I'm another who doesn't eat or drink things I don't like. I like plenty of nutritious foods, so I see no reason to eat foods that I dislike. And I don't avoid foods that I do like, like pizza, cookies and cakes. I just make sure that I eat them in portion sizes that fit into my calorie goal. That worked for me while losing ~80 pounds and is still working well for me in maintenance.6
