I’ve been highly restricted over a months time from 900 to 1400 cals, usually 1000, as an 18 year old female I feel I’ve killed my metabolism and I’m no longer sure if I’m losing weight or maintaining on this. What would happen for a duration of time if I began to up it to 2500? Details on escaping starvation mode and stories?

You can’t kill your metabolism and starvation mode isn’t a thing either. But Why such extremes? 1000 to 2500? You’ll gain weight which I’m guessing , based on what little info is in this post, is probably a good thing for you.
What is your height and weight and activity level? Only then could we guess what’s an appropriate amount of calories.10 -
Yeah dont worry about "starvation mode" just up ur calories. 1000 is way too low for anyone8
-
Who or what "highly restricted" you?
Are you filling out the food diary?4 -

It sounds like you aren't weighing yourself. Do you think you are overweight, underweight, or trying to maintain?
Do you know about how much you weigh? Have you been to a doctor recently? Are you logging and do you use a food scale?
Unless you are dangerously underweight, it would probably be better to step up your calories over a period of a few weeks. If you are dangerously underweight, you should consult with a doctor and follow their advice.9 -
Hun 2500calories is the normal for men.Young girls it’s 2000 & under unless gigantism/pregnant/breastfeeding then it’s higher to maintain .After menopause 1800 calories to maintain y 1200to lose.
Use a calorie calculator online type in height, age, female (unless born male so you can get correct for your body if on hormones that changes things again get both readouts figure out a medium).
My Daughter is 5’2 your age group 1,527 recommended for her to maintain weight because she’s short. We are rounding up to 5’2. To lose 1277 for her at average weight of course it shows for obese a much lower number.
I’m 5’4 Old as can be menopausal mines under 1200 to lose around 1750 to maintain
To budge weight - you might be building muscles from exercise but losing fat give it time patience is a virtue. Step up exercise see if your eating something that can be changed to be healthier. Your only 18 so just enjoy life hun. Can visit a Dietician or gym ask advice too. Doctors 🥼 ask when your there. If you want to go with your friends go out to eat 1/2 of something you really want to eat then diet like usual after for a few weeks. Learn balance cause your only young once.36 -

Irrelevant without knowing much about OP. Plenty females need 2700- 3k per day just to maintain17 -
What are you hoping for in your results? Are you hoping to gain weight? The best course of action is probably for you to raise slowly, a couple hundred calories at a time, and see how that affects you and if it brings you closer to your goal.1

OP is looking to gain weight and has mentioned they are recovering from anorexia.
I'm afraid i don't have good advice unter than setting your stats in MFP and choosing "gain weight" for how much to eat and build up slowly assuming you are not dangerously underweight (in which case a medical professional may be best placed to help).

Taking this into consideration and assuming the above stats are correct, ITA with this. OP, set your goal to gain 0.5 lbs per week to get a calorie goal (as was said before, if you are dangerously underweight this might be too slow - that's where a doctor would come in). If this calorie goal is more than a couple of hundred calories more than you're currently eating, raise your calories gradually over a few weeks, but stop eating under 1200 ASAP.
If you have not been losing weight while eating so little, it's possible you are underestimating your calories. I don't want to encourage you to use a food scale if you think that would be problematic for you, but just keep in mind that your numbers might be off slightly. Regardless, if you want to gain weight, you need to eat more.
The key to building muscle is to adequately fuel your body (eat enough calories) and work a well designed strength training program.
Don't worry about your metabolism and starvation mode - these are generally myths. It is possible your ED did some damage to your metabolism, but recovering is possible. Going to extremes is not necessary, finding the balance is what you need to strive for. Obviously if your medical team has told you anything different based on their unique relationship with you, please listen to them. Best of luck8 -
Found this calculator put muscle building it shows calories way higher than what your eating.

Consult Doctors,Dieticians, gym trainers they can help a lot fit plans to your body.1 -
OP, please don't be scared of the unnecessary amount of numbers that are being thrown around here. Just use MFP the way it was intended, don't do anything drastic, and talk to someone if any of this makes you anxious or obsessive. :flowerforyou:24

I wonder what “safer treats” are. Between the previous or perhaps current battles with anorexia and what hints at orthorexia I’m not sure any of us are qualified to help OP12 -
She may need a weight loss Counselor/ Dieticians my one middle son fought with anorexia. He found it helpful he gained to a healthy weight built muscle being over 6ft4 he’s tall he needed specialists to help tailor his diet y exercise needs plus body image counseling. His biological family had made fun of his weight for years as a kid 🧒 under the age of 6! Food was an enemy to struggle for him now he eats McDonald’s to lives with no mirrors in the house(counselor advice to him that stuck). He’s normal amount of muscular, great body image,y they set a maintainability diet afterwards to maintain y exercise that wasn’t over the top consuming his time/life. He enjoys hanging with friends to just living a normal day which is great cause he’s only in his 20’s he has a long life ahead of him.2

If you're undereating to this extent, you should see a health professional rather than turning to a message board to help. We can give you general advice but we (mostly) aren't medical professionals.
I can say that weight lifting was the best thing I did for my recovery. I'm not perfect around food and never will be. Logging for me calmed me down a lot, though. I now know that I maintain on more calories than I thought I would, and on days it feels like I've eaten 'too much' or 'junk' it's still usually around maintenance calories or just a little over, and that stops me from further spiraling. However, sometimes it can become too much and the thought patterns emerge, and I take a logging break for a week or I become very loose with my logging.12
