    (BTW... Belly buttons take freaking FOREVER to heal. Oh, and they tell me letting the cat chew on it, even after it's healed, is a bad idea for some reason...)

    I have had mine for 6 years now. I got it becasue I like the look, no other reason. Make sure you do your reasearch. The way my mouth is, it never clicks my teeth and I also have a plastic ball instead of metal. I can not stand when I see people constantly playing with it and stuff like that. It makes me want to take mine out!

    Also, it does not hurt, it is a bit uncomfortable when they do it though becasue you tounge is out for so long. Good luck with your decision!

    I got my tongue pierced illegally when I was 16. by a professional.. mind you. ahhh. had it for 5 or 6 years.. I say YES.

    I say pierce. I had mine done, and I loved it. The only thing I would recommend is that once you can change out of the long bar, try getting acrylic tongue rings. They're not flexible like the plastic ones, and they aren't nearly as bad on the teeth as metal. Also, no matter what anyone else tells you as far as care goes, LISTEN TO YOUR PIERCER ONLY. They are the expert for a reason! lol.
