8000 calories a week is 1142 per day. That is not adequate nutrition for *anyone*.17

With little to no exercise, I aim to consume 9450 calories per week.
Unless you're really small, 8000 calories per week is too low.3 -
It depends on the amount of exercise I get each week. When losing, I try to make sure my calorie *deficit* does not exceed 3500 calories per week. This is because I am nearing the end of my weight loss plan. Before going on my current maintenance break, my deficit was about 2500 calories per week.0

Between 11000 and 13000, depending on how active I am.0

Current goal is 17,500 per week.3

8,400 or 1,200 a day. I'm only 4ft 9in though!1

22,000 give or take4

Somewhere between 13,000 and 13,500 p/w0

Between 16,000 and 20,000 depending on my run schedule0

1,200-1400 calories a day, along with exercise 5x a week. I like seeing quick results though. And once im closer to my goal ill increase calorie intake a bit.0

At least 10,640 per week (1520 per day) with no exercise. More with exercise. Unless you are extremely short, you are undereating.0

I hover between 1000-1200 per day. I'm very short and inactive though!1

In the neighborhood of 18k per week. Varies with exercise and whether or not I'm going to indulge.0

around 9500, I exercise but not a lot (net average ends up being around 1200 a day)
I'm 5'20 -
About 9500. I've been losing about 5 lbs (average) a week.2

That's about where I am - originally started at 800-1,000 calories a day; now at about 1,500-1,600 CPD. 10,500 per week.
Question:
Tall guy here, 6'6", lost over 30 pounds. Playing around with the BMI and Navy weight calculators, and when I plug in a hypothetical weight loss of 40 or 50 pounds, one shows a 50% reduction in muscle! Really?
If I'm working out 5-6 days a week, 8-15 hours per week, I lose 20 or 25 pounds of muscle? (Currently hiking and tread water / water excercises.)
I don't expect 100% fat loss, but I figured more of a 3/4 fat, 1/4 muscle loss. Thoughts?
(I'll soon add moderate weight training for upper body.)
6'6", large boned (8" wrist), mid 50s

Formerly semi athletic. The first 25#s seemed to come off a little easier. Hit a wall at 287#. Converted to hiking and 1500-1600 CPD, slower going.
Thank you!0
