Is giving up strength training my best option?

Okay so I know I’ve posted many posts and I really did took everyone’s advice, I’ve been busy doing college hours so counting calories frustrates me. But I am following Strong Curves right now, I just feel I really won’t get the results I want with working out and eating healthy. I’ll look just okay but not how I want. I feel I should just give up and get some work done. I’m not saying this because it’s the easy way but I think it’s the best way, I know I will never have bigger hips and a small waist. I will never have the butt I want to have. I feel Im waisted money and time and I’ve gotten comments from so many people glutes can’t really grow THAT big and I really want big glutes. I don’t know what to do at times, I know many can say I just want to give up. I really don’t but I really want to look better to feel better about myself. I’m tired of feeling like this. WHAT DO I DOOOOO!?!?!?

Looking at your pictures you are a very attractive woman. I don't think your glutes need to be bigger but that is only my thought. I can only say that sometimes the image we want is not something we can have. I want 6 pack abs but I will never get them. I base this off I tried like heck to get them in boot camp and if I could not get them there its not happening now. I guess my advice is maybe make the best of what you got because what you got looks pretty great. Or, maybe focus on something else and let it happen on its own. Either way I wish you the best. and good luck Janet. (friend and or message if you want)10

What do you do?
Well if you are determined to undergo surgery for bigger glutes, there's nothing we can do about that. I would suggest some therapy first.
Maybe stop buying magazines and watching TV? I'm sorry you feel a need to do such a drastic thing, you're beautiful just as you are.21 -
Give it a couple years and a whole new body part will be popular ... small butts might be the thing.19

Thank you. I really appreciate you! But still, I really want to better my body. I just thought with strength training it was possible to have big gluteus but I guess I was wrong. I don’t want small glutes anymore3 -
I hope this doesn't come across as harsh but speaking from experience, a few aquaintances have altered the way they look, hoping to finally be happy with their body. Unfortunately, they discovered pretty quickly something else they were unhappy about, or the fix itself.
Turns out, these problems are in the mind, not the body. And won't go away if the mind stays the same.
Therapy for body image issues might be your best bet.32 -

I’m just tired of working hard and at the end of being happy with my body. It takes hard work to have energy to go to the gym, and to know I will look the same or just bleh. Why give it my all if it’s not going to be worth it. I wish I could have a body builder just train my lower body and make me get super thick LOL.3 -
Squats, squats, squats9

I'd keep working out to improve what you do have. I'm not totally happy with how I look but love the muscle I'm gaining. I'll never have small hips, I wear a higher Jean size than most people at my weight. Try to accept your body as it is and seek therapy if you need to. If you decide you want implants after working hard to build glutes and it's best for you, then do it. I don't personally think a surgery will make you happy but it's your body.1

How long have you been lifting/doing strong curves? It literally takes years to build glutes (any muscle really) unless you are genetically blessed. The average I am seeing for women that have small glutes to really grow them is roughly 6 years. So if it is something you really want to do, then you need to be patient. Secondary to patience, what is your nutrition like? Are you eating at a calorie surplus with a high protein diet? You will need that too if you want to grow your glutes. It is a serious commitment to grow muscle and you will have to go through some fat gain as well to make it happen.11

Giving up strength training is never the best option.
If you stop now you will probably regret it. I am not sure how big you can build your glutes but I am pretty sure NOT weight training will ensure that you won't be able to build them at all.

Maybe like 2 months with SC and I don’t count calories, I have a lot of stomach fat so I need to lose weight first. But I don’t want my small glutes to go away then I’ll be left with nothing 6 years is a lot omggggg (1 -
I beg to differ that SC doesn't work..
This is after the beginners 12 weeks and advanced 12 weeks program.
Still going strong. 💪23 -

Ok, breathe! So why don't you count calories? You should get a handle on your intake and start tracking your macros as well. Is your weight staying steady or are you currently losing or gaining? If you are at an overall healthy weight, but have some fat to lose, I would suggest eating at maintenance calories or slightly above, lift a lot of weights and eat a lot of protein. You will go through some body recomposition where you will lose fat and potentially build some muscle. This will work on reducing the belly fat. Once you get comfortable with that area you can focus more on eating at a caloric surplus to gain muscle. That said, you will not gain it in just your glutes.
Seriously though, patience.4 -

You realise it can take months if not over a year to build muscle? Especially glute muscle as it's so large.
Stick with a plan, eat maintenance level calories, eat lots of protein and be patient.
A lot of Instagram models are either genetically blessed or have had surgery (and are lying about it) so don't compare your progress them.
Also, butt implants are one of the most dangerous plastic surgeries you can get. They have a much higher death rate than any other plastic surgery type so I would strongly suggest NOT going down this route.8 -
Bettering your body means making your body better. Strength training will make your body better, because it's going to be healthier and stronger.
This is going to sound really mean, but I don't think you have a healthy relationship with your body. IMO, the problem isn't how your body looks, it's how you feel about how your body looks. Changing your body won't fix the real issue. It's ok not to be this year's version of perfect.14 -

@Anna28518 I am seriously impressed with this, may I ask how old you are? as I am now wondering if there is anything I can do with my pancake butt at my age and health.5 -
@manderson27 I'm in my late 40s. Was totally unfit and low in weight at 167cm and under 52 kg. Started a 'lean bulk' together with SC. Am now 57kg and actually have some muscles.
Just been diligent with SC and food intake. Nothing special really, still have my wine and other nice things.15 -

I agree. There’s no point of trying to physically change your body if your heart and mind is not truly there.7 -
This article is grim reading about butt augmentation treatment. One doctor said that their maximum enlargement was 350 cm3, which is equivalent to about a cup and a half. Get a cup and a half of something, spread it over your butt cheeks and you won't notice much difference.

Please don't buy the body you want. I don't want to see you on the next episode of Botched. 😣8

That's nothing; how long do you plan to live? And if you're not gonna be fit for the rest of it, what else are you gonna do? The other option is pretty grim, IMO.

Thanks. I am going to look into SC. I am 62 with some health issues but maybe I can make some changes. I am willing to try.9 -

It takes 4-6 years to get a degree. You're not going to get a degree in 2 months. If you can stick with something in order to get a decent level of education to prepare for the future, why couldn't you do the same to keep fit?20 -
By the time you maybe get the body you think you want, something else will be trendy instead. Just be the healthiest and the fittest that *you* can be.11

Regardless of your visual/aesthetic results, strength training has so many benefits for bone density, retaining muscle mass (which maintains metabolism), and proper posture/body mechanics as you age that I'd never recommend giving it up. I agree with others that building muscle takes time and you may get the results you desire if you stay with it. You're beautiful--I don't think you should have surgery, but if you do, keep lifting for the other benefits.7

This. 6 years will pass whether you work out or not, which place would you rather being physically in 6 years?10 -
For what it's worth...
I can kinda relate. I know I'll never look the way I want to look. I just don't have the time/dedication to put in nor the patience it requires... and I'm not even sure I have the genetics to pull it off if I did. So I've thrown in the towel before.
Ultimately though, I'd rather be a better version of me even if I can't be the ideal me. As someone who struggles with all-or-nothing tendencies in most aspects of life, this is a hard idea for me to really embrace... and at times I still struggle with it. But for me, being engaged with my life and with my body is better than giving up on it.11 -

Well it’s not really much the glutes it’s also my hips because I think they’re so narrowed and agh I just wish I had a little more volume and shape and because of me genetics it won’t happen. I know I can look sooo much better but that’s why sometimes I wonder if maybe a little lipo in the hips will help a bit so I can have that shape I want. I love lifting weights but sometimes you can only do so much.0 -
If your concern is wasting time and money, isn't it counterintuitive to pay for surgery and have all that healing time?
I know it's hard, love, but please please look at why you want what you want. You may be young, but strength training is about so much more than an Instagram butt. It is healthy and keeps you healthy and burning fat for years to come. That's so important as you age.
Try to see weight training as an investment in your health and mental wealth -- and a badass figure as an added perk.
Keep going.10
