This is an interesting question. I think a hot dog is a sandwich because its really a small hoogie roll or grinder roll so its a sandwich. I like the idea of it being a taco though. So hotdogs are american.. would a hotdog be an american taco?

When I was a kid, sometimes my mom would forget to buy hot dog buns, so she would cut the dog in half, then split it and put it on regular bread. THAT was most definitely a hot dog sammich.

I used to do this too as a kid. Take 2 hot dogs split them and make a sandwich with bread. I also would melt some cheese on the hot dogs and smother it in ketchup. It was tasty. I think I may have even cut up hot dogs and added them to a quesadilla once or twice in my youth.

Is a hotdog a sandwich or is it a type of taco? If a hotdog is neither than what is it?

It's just a hot dog, not a sandwich, just like a hamburger is a hamburger and a gyro is a gyro.

I could not go full on anarchy though. A pop tart is not a sandwich.

Maybe not a single poptart but what about this...

I’m going to say a hot dog is a sandwich. Especially one of those chicago style ones.

BAHAHAHA! Ok ok...you...MIGHT have me with that one...although...I might vomit.

And I agree. Hamburgers/cheeseburgers AND hot dogs are sandwiches. *kitten* on bread = sandwich...not literal *kitten*, mind you.

a sandwich is food 'sandwiched' between bread or crackers or lettuce or any other items. Yes, a hotdog is a sandwich.

Or is it a salad with milk dressing

And why do we bother distinguishing between chicken salad and egg salad

As we all know the definition of soup is to "increase the power and efficiency of an engine or other machine." So it's possible borscht would be cereal.

Can’t be that advanced. They’re both someone’s lunch

No. As we know cereal is "repeatedly committing the same offense and typically following a characteristic, predictable behavior pattern."

So because of the definition soup can't be salad. But.... salad can be cereal.

I don't know. Eggs are super easy to catch. Chickens get all cocky when you can't catch them right away.

You apparently think eggs just roll over and don’t put up a fight

    Chicken salad and pre-chicken salad

Actually how come we have pre-shell salad and post-shell salad but nobody makes an eggshell salad?!?!? I mean, I'm no cook, but I am CURIOUS
