Hi, I have a subscription to eMeals and their recipes include the nutritional breakdown. Is it possible to create a meal in My Fitness Pal without adding every ingredient? For example: Name only & nutrition info. Only

Thanks!

  • Only if someone has put in the recipe before you. I know how tedious it is but since every recipe varies on the cook, the app couldn't know what the ingredients are without being added to the system

I don’t know for sure, but having had a quick look (mobile app rather than desktop) I would think the ‘Meals’ bit of the ‘Recipes, Food & Meals’ might be adaptable for what you want.

You're not going to be able to create it as a meal without adding the individual ingredients. It sounds like you want to create a food based on the assumption that the nutritional information provided by the eMeals subscription is accurate and that you're not making any substitutions, that measuring accurately, etc. You can do that. Just create a new food using the name of the recipe and the nutritional information provided by eMeals.

Thank you for your replies. I signed up for the My Fitness Pal premium subscription trial and there is an option to do a “quick add” which allows you to put in nutritional info only. I may keep the premium subscription for that feature alone. 😊

OK. But, FYI, you can quick add calories with the free version, and there are entries in the database to quick add macros and micronutrients. I guess that would be one extra click for each thing you add, so I guess it depends on saving one click per entry is worth paying for premium to you.
