Why does the app say in 5 weeks u will be around 80kg and I’m sure it’s been that long and I’m not!!?

The message you get when you close out your food diary is pretty pointless and it’s really not worth paying attention to!
It actually says something like ‘if every day were like today, in 5 weeks you’d weigh XX’ where X is the weight, obviously.
Several issues with this glib prediction; one day is never exactly like another. Food intake is never going to be identical. Even if the calories are the same, differing macros, salt, water content will differ. Weight loss/gain isn’t linear, natural fluctuations happen all the time. Your energy expenditure will vary, too, plus the weather/temperature, humidity.
It makes no difference if you close out your diary or not so if it bothers you to see the inane prediction there’s no reason to worry, just don’t close your diary!6 -
I see a lot of people on the forums that get bothered by the closing out of the diary for some reason. Almost every time, they also seem to gloss over the "If every day were like today" part; they just focus on the "in five weeks, you would weigh x". It's just a silly feature and not a guarantee even if you ate the same exact food/calories and did the same amount of exercise you did on that particular day every single day for five weeks in a row, which is what the feature is stating. You may end up being close to the prediction but highly unlikely to be exact.6

My scale and measuring tape give me that information. So do my mirror and clothing. My improved overall health tells me. ☺5

The calorie goal MFP gives you is a starting point, and is based on how much weight you told it you wanted to lose per week. Stick to that for 6-8 weeks. Monitor your weight. If after that time, you are losing faster or slower than expected, then tweak your calories up or down.5 -

Use the ‘Progress’ tab to enter your weight as you go along. That’ll show you how you’re doing.0 -
You improve the likelihood of losing weight by being consistent as much as possible in keeping your calories at or below your goal. That means weighing and measuring every bite you eat and picking reliable entries in the data base.4
