Haircuts AFTER weight-loss success stories~Do you luv it or hate it&would u cut all your hair again?

This is a different kinda success story inquiry and thread. I've always had long hair all during my obesity and overweight times. Once I lost a substantial amount of weight, I got a substantial hairstyle/haircut to little longer than my neck-line bob and it's cute, but I'm REALLY tempted to get a...PIXIE CUT or super shorter bob, now that I'm pretty close at the weight I want/my goal weight. I've been looking at some youtube videos about pixie and short cuts and I'm finding the ladies look super CUTE, but many of them are not happy with the cuts and give a lot of pro's and con's about it. The truth of the matter is I'm kinda SCARED nervous unsure to get a super short cut and at the same time think I will look and feel nothing less than FABULOUS with a sassy short cut.
So...Have any of you got a super short cut once meeting your weight-blastification goal(s)? Are you glad you did OR not so much and super wanting to grow your hair out and will never do it again. I totally understand it's just hair and my hair grows pretty quickly too.
Did cutting your hair (getting a fabulous, perhaps even a bit edgy for you, and definitely stepping out of your "comfort zone" hair STYLE/cut) do something wonderful for you/your life/your style or did you regret it?

A lot of it has to do with the shape of your face. I can't get away with pixie cuts because I have a rectangular face. If you have an oval, square or a circular face I believe those are best. Google it though, just to be sure.
Oops. Guess I was wrong! Though they still don't have the rectangle..

I went short and spiky and I love it. It suits me well and is really quick and easy to style - which is great as I go to the gym every day and have to wash it afterwards.1

Hair grows back!
That's my motto. You get to live once. Try it! If you don't love it, then it will grow back.
Short-short hair doesn't interest me (I like it long enough to do stuff with), but I've colored mine, cut mine, went blond. Went pink and purple. Went deep purple. Went rich, deep red (my natural is red/blonde).
I've loved the coloring and hair cuts I've gotten, but I'm adventurous with my hair. Did it change my life? Nope, but for the time the color lasted, I felt fabulous!
Take a chance!7 -

Honey YES it does and I haven't colored my hair (because I LOVE my natural color and the gray is virtually non-existent--which is a miracle for my age), but what you've done and the colors you've chosen sounds AMAZING and FUN! Thanks so much for your encouraging reply!2 -

Wow and YAY YOU and I love the idea of it being really quick and easy to style as well. Thanks so very much for your reply!0 -

LOVE this--Thank you!!! When I was obese and overweight, my head/face was round. Now that I've got down to size, looking at these pics I'd say my face and head is either a combo of heart, long and/or oval...I'm getting all hyped up now and excited....YIKES and YAY at the same time!0 -
I got a pixie after I lost about 40 lbs and I loved it. I'd never felt confident enough for short hair, I tended to hide behind my hair so this was a huge deal for me. Along with the weight loss and the haircut, I found a love for fashion/style and so I felt totally transformed.
My hair has been long again for a few years now and I've been feeling bored with it. I need a change of some sort but not sure what I want to do yet. I'm not sure if I want to go for a pixie again but it was a lot of fun and I'd highly recommend it1 -
I know this is directed at females but I just buzzed my whole head. Took me a week to get used to it but now I like it . I have always had somewhat of a receding hairline but hid it with hair or a hat. This is freeing! the only thing I need to do is get a tan on the receding part and my big forehead haha18

Boom! This is EXACTLY how I felt (not being confident enough for short hair AND using long hair to "hide behind"). I am all the way confident now and that's one of the reasons I'm thinking about "taking the plunge" so to speak! Thank you ever so much for your encouraging reply!2 -

I'm THRILLED that you've posted! I've seen some guys with some SUPER cute cuts/hairstyles and as I posted, I was super hoping guys would reply too. Thank you so much for your encouraging reply!2 -
I expected to see lots of photos here! Love the chart, though. Very helpful.
I got mine super short after 25 pounds. Wonder what I'll do when I hit goal! 😗1 -
I concur on the lots of photos comments! I've loved all the colors I've chosen (I love my natural too, but hey, gotta see what it's like with other colors too!).
That picture is cool too!0 -

YAY YOU Lynda! Maybe color? Because I really really love my natural color so much--always have, the idea of coloring my hair NEVER enter into my mind until posting this. So yeah, WOW...
{{ wide-eyed smiling from ear to ear }} with even the "thought" of coloring my hair! This thread is somehow making me feel younger and sassier for some reason, I LOVE IT!0 -
Go for it, it'll grow back.
Also, try googling unicorn hair and be inspired by the beautiful colours.0 -
I agree that hair grows back.
I have cut my hair 5 times for locks of love. I cut 27 inches the last time.
I love my hair super short in the summer. Sometimes I swim 2x a day, which means washing my hair 3x a day. So easy to just comb it and go—let it dry naturally with a pixie cut.
I definitely say cut it! I bet you’ll love it, too.1 -

WOW!!!! I googled it and saw some super cute and interesting and WOW styles and colors. I've never colored my hair nor had highlights or anything. I remember in the 1960's and a lot of older women used to color their hair light blue and different colors to cover the gray...like this old ad:
I even see some young people coloring their hair gray and it looks kinda good too. How exciting. Thanks for having me google that! I also googled "hair colors for short cuts" and saw some cute stuff too!1 -

I appreciate you adding about swimming, which I'm starting to take up--that's another big ole PLUS for the "no guts no glory" move to doing it. Thank you!0 -
I went from really long hair to really short hair once. It looked great. I have an oval face and my hair was blond. I was really cute and easy to take care of. It also made me feel more confident. I think you should go for it.0

I am chiming in as someone who has had pixie short hair MANY times and then grown it out to shoulder length and longer...it's a big adjustment, but you get used to it just as quickly. Having very short hair can feel awesome! It dries more quickly and is fun to style. It's always "new" fresh hair so there's no concern about split ends and it tends to stay shiny too! You can wear very bold accessories and they always show up...or even tiny delicate earrings/necklaces show up and get comments more with very short hair. I think it can be very chic & feminine.
And yes it does grow out if you don't love it or get sick of it, but there are definitely awkward phases along the way when growing it back out (if you do). That is something you can deal with and even enjoy with various clips and headbands -- and hats if you're a hat person. I honestly think it's kind of fun and tend to chop my hair every few years for this reason...so many in between styles you can do, if you decide to grow it back longer.
For me, there's not a big correlation between long/short hair and my feeling thinner or heavier. I was just as likely to go for a pixie when I was at my heaviest weight. I know that's a thing though for a lot of people and I may be in the real minority in feeling it's not too related for me!
If you really want to do it, I say go for it. I've known a lot of ladies who wanted to try a pixie but sort of settled for a chin-length cut and really didn't get the pixie/super short 'urge' tamed by doing that! It's a "safer" option but I say just DO IT and get the exact cut you want, even if it's a little intimidating to you!2 -
I did a big chop and added reddish highlights after losing 43 lbs (below is before and after pic) not a pixie but as short as I dared to go at the time. I’ve since grown it out long again but short hair certainly has it’s perks... using a lot less shampoo and conditioner, less tangling and less drying time. I’m enjoying my long hair now but toying with the idea of getting a bob style for the fall season. I’d say go for it and have fun with your hair!

Here are my pictures if anyone is interested: there's the before, then the pixie, then the growing out stage, and how it currently is (sorry that last one is so huge )

Thank you ever so much for your inspirational reply...I'm feeling more and more "confident and delighted" about doing it and less and less afraid hesitant undecided about it.
BTW-I've ALWAYS loved that word..."serendipity" I remember when I first discovered that word many many moons ago, it was from one of my books as a youngster called ""serendipity" and we had to do a study on that word and again, I always just loved it from when I first heard it!

You are GORGEOUS, period. You remind me of Sophia Loren (when she was young), I'm sure you hear that a lot! I also super love your hair cut and the red in it is the bombdotcom...I LOVE IT! Thank you ever so much for posting pics.4 -

Honey...you are gorgeous and your style is EVERYTHANG, I LOVE those black shoes in the first pic and the second pic, your hair, your glasses, your earrings, your top and jeans---that look is so my style (now that I'm slim and trim) and 100% inspirational in/for my getting a pixie cut. Your third pic shows your classic beauty and style and is so fabulous and pretty & CUTE ( I would rock that dress in a New York minute)...I LOVE looking pretty and CUTE--your last pic truly shows not only your outer beauty, but your inner beauty too, you look so lovely and happy in that last pic. WOW, thank you ever so much for posting...you ROCK, period.
ETA: Girrrrllllll, that pixie cut looks TREMENDOUS on you--I LOVE IT! Also your weight blastification is mega wonderful too--YAY YOU!!!2 -

I can dig it, 100% on the no color. Coloring one's hair looks fun and pretty and just about all of my family and friends color their hair--but I think before I entertain putting color in my fabulous hair (I'm sorry to sound "vain", but I love my hair color so much--it so suits me to a tee). I also find it AMAZING that I only have a very few strands of gray hair, as old as I am--that maybe another reason I LOVE my natural hair color as well. YAY you for loving your grays and scars too, how cool of you!
I think before entertaining getting my hair colored, I first need to get used a short hair cut first. That's going to be something "extra" to and for me and I don't want to over-it-do all at once. Once super mega change at a time I think for me.0 -
I am in a bit different situation. I cut mine off as part of my weight loss journey, just to have a drastic change.
It really depends on your face shape and your hair texture. Mine doesn't exactly pixie because it has a mind of its own: one of the most common questions when I first chopped it off was "Did you know you had curly hair?!" Yes, I have has this head all my life, it is just also very fine, so it weighs itself down as it grows.
The nice thing about hair is that it grows back.1
