I used to buy that. Would cut 2 roasts and a bunch of chops. Doing these from memory because I tend to cook by eye with them. All recipes imply salt and pepper to taste and
Sweet and sour pork.
1-2 lbs pork
Can pineapple chunks with juice
Bell pepper chopped
Onion chopped
~1/4 cup Vinegar
Brown sugar
Tbsp of soy
Brown pork
Add in onion and pepper and cook down some
Mix pineapple juice and vinegar to make about a cup of liquid. Memory is you get about 3/4 juice in a big can of pineapple chunks. Add soy. Add Brown sugar (this is dependent on how sweet you want it, start with 1tbsp maybe)
Pour liquid into pan, cover, simmer 30 minutes
Slow cooker - this works best if you have a larger roast
2-3 lbs pork
1/2 cup dried cranberries
Couple Granny Smith apples, sliced
Onion
1/4 cup sherry or dry white wine
1/4 cider vinegar
1 cup chicken or veg broth
2 tbsp brown sugar
Sear pork put in cooker, add cranberries
Cook onions until just soft
Add sherry, vinegar and sugar and cook until starts to get a little syrupy
Add broth and stir to mix then pour into cooker
Cook 4-6 hours on low, or however long you want really
We used to serve it over mashed potatoes, but rice, root mash, cauli rice or cauli mash, whatever should work.
You can turn pork loin into carnitas, but it’s will need some help staying moist.
If you have an instant pot or similar, there are some good pork recipes at:
