Hi Everyone! I’m in for the challenge:

    September goal weight: 149
    Ultimate goal weight: 140

    Sep 1: 154
    Sep 9: 155

Good Luck Everyone! Let’s do it!

    Sep 9: 155 :(

Not sure why I gained, I haven’t logged as diligently as I usually do. So, will really step up in that area this week.

I honestly love working out, so I’m guessing it’s the food.

I’d be appreciative of any tips! Thank you!

    Hello everyone.

    Stats
    08/24 - Starting Weight - 195.0
    09'19 Goal - 184.0
    09/01 - 189.0
    09/02 - 188.8
    09/03 - 188.2
09/04 - 188.6 - I am blaming the slight gain on hurricane Dorian. Stocked up with wholesome foods/vegetables but those darn Pringles (the only junk I bought) got me!
    09/05 - 188.2 - Back to pre-hurricane warning weight.
    09/06 - 188.0
    09/07 - 186.8
    09/08 - 186.2
    09/09 - 186.4
    09/10 - 186.0

I tried something new today. Instead of just walking in the morning I decided to add arm weights and do reps as I was walking. It's like a BOGO at the supermarket. Actually felt good - heartbeat was up and the time flew by since I was concentrating on the lifts during the walk.

I am enjoying the quick loss right now. I started changing my lifestyle on 08/26. I went from a complete couch potato to watching my diet (daily logging and meal planning) and trying to get a minimum of 30 minutes cardio each day. I know the weight loss will slow as my body acclimates to its new normal. In order to combat that I am starting to look for ways to change it up and get that heart rate going (hence the weight experiment).

Ok, enough from me. I hope everyone has a positive day. Remember most things are only a brief moment in time, breath deeply and let it pass.

It's great you're working on your fitness. It's one of the three legs of the stool. It builds strength and cardiovascular health. Nutrition is another let -- it fuels your body. But if your goal is weight loss, your main focus might be calorie intake. You can do it! Keep letting us know about your success!

    Good day everyone.

Reducing Stats to weekly, except for the current week. Early morning, again. Up at 4:00 am and decided to take advantage of the morning. Brisk 30-minute walk and meal planning for the duration of the work week.

During my walk I contemplated the reasons why I need to get back to healthy. I am not so young anymore (in my mind I am 35) and I want to be sure I can live an active retirement. The Appalachian Trail fascinates me and I would love to drive across the country and visit the national parks.

I also thought back to 09/11, where I was and what I was thinking. A co-worker came in to work and said a small passenger plane hit one of the towers (she heard this on the radio). We all grew concerned as rumors began to pass around the teams. We patiently watched CNN (it took 20 minutes to come up) and when the first picture appeared I said to everyone that's not a passenger plane - that's a 747. We were all shocked. As the news developed and people became aware of what was happening all I could think of was getting home to my husband. TG I worked for a passionate company and they told us to go home and be with our loved ones.

So let's be thankful today - we have life. There are many living in anguish as this day approaches. Let's send positive thoughts and prayers to them as they get through this day.

    09/09 - 186.4

    09/11 - 185.8

Once again I write/speak too much. Maybe it's time to start a blog (probably no one would read it - ha). Take care one and all.

You're doing it right. Welcome, and let's stick to it. That's all it takes. There will be hiccups along the way, but just keep focused on where we're going. Here's the challenge: If we're patient with you, you have to be patient with yourself because that's what it takes. Oh boy howdy it takes a lot, so... let's do it!

    Hello everyone.

I would like to thank those for the positive thoughts and friend request.

This morning my head was full of thoughts - it is not unusual as I am fully awake when I get up. Main thought today was, wow, tomorrow is Friday the 13th and there will be a full moon. It's my lucky day! Next thought, why do so many cultures and religions feel the day is unlucky? I had to take a quick refresher online and found my name is unlucky. It's interesting I have always felt blessed. Here's a thought....in buildings, most floors are numbered 11, 12, 14, etc.. Technically, one is still on the 13th floor no matter how the floors are numbered. I have to ask some of friends in the travel industry if people still avoid staying on the 14th floor or are the rooms on the 14th floor discounted?

Glad to see the scale is moving in the right direction and the meal and get moving plan is working. I am starting to feel better and am seeing body improvements. My stomach is not as big and I have almost dropped a size. And, yes, all of the larger sized clothes will be donated. This is my third reset (it seems to take place every 10 years or so) and I have found if the size is not in the closet I cannot go up. It does keep me on track and I look forward to buying a new piece or two as I move down to my ideal weight (I have kept my favorites in smaller sizes). In the past as I slowly gain I do find myself buying larger sizes, but this go around I avoided it. I simply would not buy any more clothes at my current size. Yes, I had many closet challenges. But, it finally got to me and made me make a change.

Enough about me. I hope everyone has a great day. Every moment is a chance to begin again and a slip does not mean a fall. It's a chance to review what is going on in your head/life/day and recognize it for what it is and then move forward.

PS: My friend located her family in the Bahamas (all 5). Only one was seriously injured - wall fell on his leg and he could not extract himself when they found him 3 days later gangrene had set in. His leg from right above the knee down had to be removed. He is recovering. They are all thankful for life. Please continue to send your positive thoughts and prayers to those on the islands.

PSS: I remembered another WW tip. You know all of those catered meeting lunches at work where they leave the leftover sandwiches, snacks, salads, etc. in the lunchroom for everyone to enjoy. Think of them as being someone else's leftovers (it sort of turns me off when I think about it - but of course if I was starving it would not be).

Ok, once again way too much jabbering. Until next time.............

I will be here again, but I think I am taking a diet break for the next couple of weeks. I didn't really get anywhere in August because to be honest I lost my motivation. I have been on this journey for over a year now and have lost just over 35 pounds, but I am tired. Last month was a really rough month with some family issues that needed to be taken care of and now my birthday is coming up in a couple of days. So I am eating at maintenance until the 15th and will get back to my losing routine and finally get rid of these last couple of pounds. My ultimate goal is 135-138. I have been hovering between 142-145 the last month, so I am super close, but exhausted at the same time.

    Original starting weight - 178
September starting weight - 8/30 weigh in 143.6
    September goal - 141
    Ultimate goal - 135-138

1st - 143.6 on 8/30 before I left for FIL funeral in Texas
5th- 145.1 still working on restaurant and water weight from 4 days in Texas
12th - 145.6 I am officially 40 year old! Where has the time gone, lol. I have been able to maintain and live normally for about 5 weeks now. Even with all the stress of my FIL passing and all the craziness of my kids getting back into their new school years I have been able to do it. I have 2 in college (different schools), a senior in high-school, an 8th grader, and a 5th grader, lol, so when I say it's been crazy I mean it. I am really looking forward to getting under 140 and reaching my goal, so the diet break is over. Back at it today! Let's see what I can do the last half of the month.

    Buenos dias!

Yesterday was a blow out. Awakened at 1:00 am with no more sleep in sight, no real motivation, and work! Made it through the day, but meals were sloppy and no exercise. Feeling like the blob this morning. TG it's Saturday and I am back at it. Lots of work in the garden (I feel like it's better than the gym - all of those squats!), housework, and errands which will keep me moving through the day. Hopeful the tropical depression doesn't rain out too much of the day because I would love to get a nice outside walk in.

Interesting article on line about recording food intake. It's by Samantha Lauriello, Health, originally posted February 25, 2019, titled, Scientists Swear by this Weight-loss Trick that Only Takes 15 Minutes a Day. It's based upon a study published in the journal Obesity. Basic message is those who record everything they eat lost more weight than those who did not. As stated in one of my previous posts I find this to be true for both weight loss and maintenance. I am good as long as I keep a food journal. :)

I hope everyone has a positive day and is able to stick to their goals!
