Skincare: cetaphil gentle skin cleanser (the face specific product makes me breakout, I have pretty sensitive skin, so I stick with this stuff)
Body: method body washes
Hair: I’ve been using the new(ish) herbal essences no-plastic shampoo & conditioners (I think the specific one I’m using currently is called Love Your Shore or something like that)
I don't wear much makeup. Some lip color/Burt’s bees chapstick (love the pomegranate flavor/shade!), occasionally smashbox gray eyeliner but that’s been really irritating my eyes lately, mascara (I think cover girl), and I’ve gotten into filling in my eyebrows lately. I use a real idiot-proof product from Ulta that is super forgiving because I have 0 makeup skills but I seem to be doing ok with this eyebrow color brush thingy!
I rarely blow dry my hair or anything to it, just let it air dry, sometimes putting some anti frizz stuff in it because it is super thick and can be a frizzy mess. Sometimes I also use some root lifting powder stuff because it can look flat on top because it’s so dang heavy pulling it down.
I have really oily skin, but occasionally swipe on cetaphil face moisturizer for oily skin with some spf because I know it’s good for me if I’m outside in the sun, but it still makes my face so oily! I wish I could find some really good face spf for oily skin.0 -
I have really pared down my routines as I've gotten older. Creme de LaMer for face and eyes. The Best Lipshit Ever on my lips. Really short hair needs nothing but random shampoo then tousled with the LaMer that is left on my hands. Whatever body wash smells good to me at the moment. If I'm going out - I add some bronzer and lipstick and eyeliner. One thing I do pay attention to: my eyebrows. They are pretty strong and full. So I get them done once a month. Voila1

Face of the Day (Saturday)
- Physicians Formula CC Cream (Light/Medium)
- Blistex Fruit Smoothies (Melon Medley)
- Soap and Glory Lipstick in "Pink It Up, Girl"
- Sephora "Silver Green" Eyeliner (this was a gift sample that I'll be tossing; I could barely see it on my eyes)
- Make Up For Ever Mascara in "Smoky Extravagant"
- Laura Geller Marble Matte Baked Shadow in "Blueberry Creme" (looks like a pale grey on me)
- Cover Girl Clear Brow Gel

This stuff is awesome for oily skin. Unfortunately you have to get it online but it's not expensive. Bottle is tiny but it's a thin liquid so a little goes a long way. Zero shine. Totally effective sunscreen. I do a 3 mile walk at midday and get no colour.

Hair: it doesn't matter if I use a $30.00 dollar bottle of salon shampoo and conditioner or a $4.00 bottle of Pert Plus... My hair always looks and feels the same. I do like that perfect 10 hair serum. And I always rinse hair in cold to luke-cool water.
Body: any body wash or body scrub that smells good... Love White Citrus from Bath and Body Works... Some of their seasonal ones smell good.
Face...I do weekly scrubs, and acid chemical peels maybe once every six months to once a year. I prefer local made natural soaps for daily washing. I like local made natural moisturizers--especially hemp or goats milk lotions (absolutely nothing on face with any alcohols in them, and I only rinse with cold water, never hot or warm on face).
Makeup: I prefer Elf and Clinique. But I only wear makeup on eyes and lips.
And I avoid the sun like the plaque!1 -

Ah I like local soaps too. My friend makes some and I get mine from her.
Protecting your skin from the sun is the best thing one can do. 😁

Thank you! I’ll give this a try!0 -
Self-isolation bump
What are you doing or NOT doing these days?
Anybody trying anything new?
Anybody going through your stash and reorganizing or tossing?
Anybody "experimenting?"
1 -
I'm not wearing ANY makeup when I go out.
I decided to wear one item of (existing) eye makeup every day. If it irritates, it's going out. (This will probably be just about everything.)
I'm experimenting a bit with my hair.
Also, I rarely bother with my nails, but I have a lot of old nail polish, so I'm going to practice polishing them. I love nicely manicured nails, but I never get them done because I'm a germaphobe and I rarely do them myself because I'm a nutty perfectionist. This is a good time to practice.1 -

* Quarantine Stay in place = Zero make up.
* I give myself mani-pedis which is sufficient in wop wopville, not the City.
* Natural leave in protein/oiling treatments every other day1 -
No makeup, no hair products.
I’m still showering...for now....1 -
SKINCARE: micellar water, homemade brown sugar scrubs, rosewater facial spray, organic toner, *rosehip oil, a *retinol cream, *hyaluronic cream, sunscreens
HAIRCARE: This list is long. Suffice it to say three kinds of shampoos including a charcoal shampoo, four conditioners, two hair masks, aloe vera gel, a *conditioning detangling spray and some stuff I'm forgetting
MAKEUP: Also a long list since I've just gotten into makeup and have bought, like, everything including - Lord, why? - pink creme blush. My station has three glass jars: complexion products, eye products, and then the last one with blushes and (mostly nude) *lippies/glosses.
The * indicates my daily go-tos2 -
Part II from @SaraKim17
What are you doing or NOT doing these days?
- I don't do makeup beyond lips but once a week
Anybody trying anything new?
- Trying new makeup routines (thank you Jackie Aina and Robert Walsh for making all of this make at least SOME sense)
Anybody going through your stash and reorganizing or tossing?
- My skincare and haircare stuff is not changing. The makeup has plenty of mistakes: white eyeliner and pink creme blush come to mind. Sigh.
Anybody "experimenting?"
- I'm open to trying new makeup stuff...within reason. May as well practice now when so few people will see.1 -

Just a bar of Lava soap and a brillo pad.1

I haven’t worn mascara or liner in over a month. I have only blow dried my hair two times. I have been quite lazy because I’m wearing a mask anyway.1
-
Skincare - No makeup; cleanser, face polish, masks, serum, moisturizer plus Jojoba oil.
Haircare - Co-wash, leave-in conditioner, Castor Oil, Moisturizer.
Other - Vaseline Cocoa Butter1 -
So my experimenting hasn't happened.
Has anyone tried any Honest cosmetics? If so, what do you think? If anyone has any product reviews, let's share them!
This isn't exactly beauty, but I'm loving Arm & Hammer Essentials Liquid Hand Soap. I'm using the orange citrus, which I'll definitely re-buy, and I want to try the other scent I saw (lavender vanilla? something with lavender).
How do you like to make up your eyes?
Hoping to get this thread active again! 💄
P.S. @MaltedTea, I checked out Robert Welsh and his brother James on YouTube. Looking forward to watching more. (I like the product reviews.)1 -
I’ve always had smooth clear skin, so I never felt the need to overdue it with the products. As a kid and a teenager, I used Olay moisturizer for my face.
Now in my 20’s.
For my face, I use grape seed oil. It’s a very light oil so it won’t make you look greasy, or clog your pores. And sunblock.
My hair... a spray bottle filled with grape-seed oil and water. Spray my ends.
Body- again I add grape seed oil in my body lotion, gives my skin an extra glow plus added benefits. And sunblock.
Lips- body shop lip balm with SPF.
Makeup remover.. IT cosmetics BYE BYE makeup balm.
Recently bought ANTI aging powder serum by ORGINS.

My skin dries out easy. So for body wash I use Olay shea.
I use Nivea scrub before shaving my face.
I put on Olay Regenerist before bed and Olay daily cream for day time.
For my body I like Jergens Shea Butter (really thick)
And for hair, plain old Head & Shoulders to keep dandruff down.

I am really liking the Jergens body butters (so much so that I have citrus in the kitchen, rose in the bathroom, and lavender in the bedroom).

Smashbox Cali Contour is my new favorite everything! I use it for my eyes, bronzer, blush, highlighter and I love it! I am a lipgloss addict-the one thing I truly indulge in and have lots of--my two faves are Victoria Secret lipgloss in Candy Baby and Fenty Gloss Bomb in Sweetmouth, but Ulta Jelly Gloss Lip Gels are nice, too!
I have had a weird dry skin, peeling, flaking, ingrown hair situation on my chin since having to wear a mask for COVID, so almost three years now! I haven't worn a mask consistently in over a year but my chin still is funky. I have been to the dermatologist numerous times and nothing has helped. I am 44 so maybe it's just hormonal! The rest of my face is pretty clear and I use Cerave to cleanse and moisturize.1
