On Saturday my family went to the zoo. When we left the house it was warm and sunny. When we got to the zoo, which is over 2 hours from our house. It was breezy and a little chilly. My husband suggested we go into their gift shop to look for hoodies. My daughter who is almost 25 and fit found one immediately. I didn't bother to look knowing they wouldn't have any in my size. ( Something I have been used to for a long time 😔) She said just look I bet you will find something. I looked around and bought the biggest one they had doubtful it would fit. I went into the restroom to try it on and bam, not only did it fit , I could have gotten a smaller size. I know it doesn't seem like much but its the first time in years I could shop anywhere but a place that carried 3x or larger. Guess I cant "see" the 55 lb loss yet. Long ways to go but exciting to do something normal. Phew. Long post. Sorry.61

This sounds like a major achievement to me, and I am so inspired by it! I'm not quite there yet, but here's hoping someday soon. I think there are many others on MFP who feel the same too. Well done!8 -
Have walked at least a mile (and usually more) 23 of the last 30 days, thanks to that little bundle of energy in the photo. Getting more exercise was one rationalization for raising a puppy. That plan is going to work well!

Completed 13.2 miles during my half marathon training (second time I've completed it). DH said I should count this as a half marathon completion and presented me with a 13.1 sticker for the car. So happy that he thought of me ahead of this accomplishment.
NAV #2 . Got my blood work results today and dropped my cholesterol from 289 to 228 in 3 months. Small changes in protein replacement adds up.25 -
Started doing mountain climbers using a bosu ball today because my trainer felt the regular way was now too easy for me. I didn’t think I’d be able to do it, but was able to balance properly after only a couple of tries.15

@martianspuds Thank you! 😊0

@AmethystEFC how terrific!!
Mine is, tonight we had a couple people over for dinner, and I only had the ceviche! No sangria, no chips and guacamole. Drinking and carbs always make me... “relax my standards,” and can turn into a three thousand calorie dinner without effort. I am just under my daily calories today, and I can’t remember the last time I escaped a Mexican food night without going off the deep end.35 -
Last night I got rid of all my size 12 pants because I’m basically a size 8 now!! ( and I didn’t really even buy any size 10 pants... just wore the 12’s loose.) I’m continuing to lose weight but hoping I can get away with the size 8’s I bought for a little while longer! (23 lb loss for those wondering how many pounds it took for me to drop two pant sizes.)27

Got dressed in the dark as I always do to try and not wake my wife. Put on a pair of tracksuit bottoms, went to put on my shoes and realised something was wrong. They were my wife's tracksuit bottoms and they actually fit. Took them off pronto mind you!48

Last Thursday I gained my final illusive walking Garmin badge when I took a 36km walk and took 56K steps in one day. Next up 10x the 60 day badge in a row for 10k steps (meaning 600days of 10k steps a day)30

Turns out, it's the 60 day mark I'm close to reaching, not 50 - yay!
My cat is dedicated to the idea that she should put her butt in my face at every opportunity. This morning just before the alarm went off, she was walking on me as usual and trod upon my collar bone. My first thought was, "Ow, that's a bone". My second thought was, "WOOO HOOOO, I have bones!!!!". I knew you folks would understand

Bought my FIRST EVER pair of skinny jeans. My legs have always been so large that skinny jeans looked ridiculous (if I could even get them on), so I always opted for straight leg instead. But on a whim the other day I tried on some skinnies in size 12 and they looked GOOD! I was shocked. It took over a year of hard work for this!38

My cat's old favorite place to knead was my collar. She's since shifted down because there's no more fat there anymore!23 -

Hey me too! Though I think the real victory was being brave enough to wear them lol
Congratulations, that’s a lot of hard work paying off!

I guess this is a NSV of the "yes, a successful post-op rehab type". A woman engaged me in conversation when I got into the hot tub today. The chat eventually got around the reasons why we were there and trying to get fit. As I described my situation she told me she couldn't tell I had had any hip surgeries by the way I walked and got into the tub [it is set up in a way that it is hard not to watch people as they get in or out]. That was such a kind thing to hear and SO validating of the effort I've put in the last few months to make my hip replacements good. It made me feel good too!38

Did an honest to God pull-up at the gym today! Yeah!56

I tried on a pair of smaller jeans and they fit!!! I was shocked and walking on air for the rest of the day.28

Today is check-in day for an annual local event. Last year, I wore an XXL T-shirt. Today, I’m wearing an S and it’s too big. The body dysmorphia is getting better, but I’m still having a hard time wrapping my head around it. My eyes still don’t see it.
And may I say, TUCKED IN?!!! I haven’t tucked in shirts since the 80’s. Golly!40 -
after 10 years of obesity, I can at last wear the seat belt correctly, instead of sticking it under my arm so it doesn't rub against my neck.29
