Struggling: a bit with my purpose in life. Getting healthy, building an exercise program, losing weight, figuring out how to maintain, recovering from two surgeries & two 6 month rounds of PT & daily PT exercises KEPT ME BUSY.
Then I ventured into making art, which I love & do. I need to work to decide whether the art has value. It helps me relax & be happy but I sometimes question whether I should be helping others more.
Then, I remember how when I was most sick. It was the art & music that others created that helped me the most. I have to rewrite my brain, I guess. And get my art out into the world9 -

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: I had a big whoosh this week down to 128 and then back up to 131 as of this morning. -.- annoying but now I know this is a weird water weight thing. Progress is slow on my C25k program - I finally completed day 1 and today I’m attempting day 2 for the second time. Feeling much better about eating more. I’m not feeling hungry at all right now.4 -

Success of the week: I kept my average weight in my goal range all week even though the scale dipped below the first couple days. The scale is up three pounds from seven days ago, my ten-day average is up 0.8 pounds, and my weekly average went up 0.9. I'm ok with this since I'm still near the bottom of my goal range.
Struggle of the week: It looks like I won't be revising my goal down, at least not this week. I'm glad I didn't do it prematurely. I was enjoying seeing the lower number, and it may be back. I had some less-than-idea food choices this week.1 -

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: Other than yesterday being a day of disastrous food choices that will likely show up next week (masked today by being a bit dehydrated), it was a pretty good week. I need to try to eat enough to reach my goals on most days so I don't end up having a greater than expected weekly deficit that leads to...well, disastrous food choices!

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: I'm slowly but surely getting back down into my range again, with my weigh-in over the past couple of days being 110.6 lbs and 111.2 lbs, at the upper end of my maintenance range. I was successful with increasing my activity this week and got 93k steps overall, with two days over 15k steps.4 -

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: Enjoyed a social gathering this week where I mainly ate the food that I brought and a couple other things that I was very sure of, but also had a bit of a couple other dishes that looked super yummy. When I got home I simply logged my best estimates. I have to master things like this if I am going to successfully maintain.

I'm supposed to be aiming for 49 kg.
As you can imagine, I'm not logging or estimating calories in or out. I'm driving up and down the motorway a lot and not at home much. Son had a biopsy a few days ago, is home now.7 -

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: Intermittent fasting. I began IF last week as I did a lot of research on the overall health benefits. Some days are much harder than others to do my 15 hour fast and I haven't been able to hold out.
Also, I seem to be finding myself getting some sort of sweet treat every evening after dinner. My calories usually allow it but my main issue is the self discipline.3 -

Didn't log intake for 3 days of the Canadian Thanksgiving Long Weekend .... but no hugs or condolences needed. I can tell by my fitbit steps and how the scales behaved that even if I HAD logged everything I would still have been within my target intake envelope each day (which allows for "potentially dipping into the exercise calories if needed, but never have to use ALL of them to cover the intake")
That's what happens when my birthday dinner /left-over pumpkin pie / my actual birthday / Canadian Thanksgiving Family Dinner / second left-over pumpkin pie all happen one day after the other within an 10-day stretch. No more foreseeable special occasions before end of November / beginning of December when the Holly Daze Social Event Silly Season starts at the office. The next two family birthdays aren't until end of December and early January.
There are advantages to having a small immediate family and social circle!

Success(es): Brought my Half marathon time under 2 hours for the first time in training. Starting to test and adjust my nutrition timing for January's Walt Disney World Marathon. Got to ride a slide at Volcano Bay that has a 150lb weight limit!
Struggle(s): On a weight spike pretty sure that's due to my sleep schedule getting wrecked over the weekend. 3rd shift is tough like that.

Looking at the trends I am out of my stated goal range. As such I am switching to 1990 calories a day and not eating back any exercise calories. While I have been logging and measuring most all food there is also opportunity to tighten this up.

I'm keeping up with walking and managed to do 17k steps on Monday since it was a holiday, as well as 15k steps the following day as there was a long walk to meet a friend at dinner. I'm hoping to keep up this level of activity for as much of the fall as possible, as I know that the winter will probably make it more difficult to do so.7 -

Struggle of the week: Avoiding emotional eating. I did some yesterday; drinking too. It was a Celebration of Life for a friend who died in August. It was great to be among so many friends and family whew knew and loved him. He was the kind of person we really do all strive to be, and he died way too young. Firetruck cancer. Firetruck is the only word that starts with an f and ends with uck that won't turn out to be some small feline on this forum.8 -

I weigh today what I weighed a year ago, was still losing. So I guess maintenance feels longer than 6 months.
If I had listened to all of you & had set a +/-5 lb maintenance range, I would have been far less stressed these past 6 months (but I had gotten down to 150, so I thought of my range as 150-155. Ha!

Success(es)/struggles of the week. I’ve been home for a few days, getting back to some semblance of normality for a while. We’re waiting for the results of tests, so in limbo for a week or two. I’m struggling to get my weight over 48 kg but there is a slight upward trend.9
