Round 94:
Female, 57 yy, 4'11''
OSW: 177.1 lbs
LTG: 105 - 110.0 lbs
STG: 110 (next milestone)
Goals for 10 day Challenge: reach 114 - upper end of ideal weight for my height.
Day/Weight/Comment
10/30 114.8 Reached my STG of last round now! (be below 115) but better late than never! Expect wt may go back up tomorrow and I’ll bounce around here, but just might be possible to reach the upper end of the ideal weight range for my height this round. In the meantime goal is to keep working on increasing muscle mass (seems to be working according to scale) with the increase in calories and burning fat. Early morning spin class for cardio today!

Round 94
Please join us! Starting on 10/30 JUST GIVE ME 10 DAYS, we will begin Round 94
Anyone can join us at anytime during the round.
Join us! If we stay mindful we can do this, you can do this.
Welcome back past members, welcome new members, let's keep each other accountable for another 10 days!
Here is what you do: Post your daily weight and add little comments along the way of how your day went. Post everyday to let us know how you're doing! Copy and paste the days in your response--tell us how much you lost and other non scale victories (NSV) you'd like to share.
FOR NEWBIES - I find it easiest to copy the dates to a document or note in my device and edit it each morning. Then copy and paste to the message board. MFP will return you to the spot on the board where you left off on your previous visit which is nice to know if you like to scan all of the posts.

** ROUND 94 **
Round # 23 for me
Day/Weight/Comment
10/30 397 – I lost 1.6 pounds last round. Finally getting back on track. I am not making any goals, but I do know in 10 days I should lose at least 2 pounds just by focusing on behavior modifications. I didn’t do the whole 10 days last round. But I am not beating myself up at all. I am just going to focus on my behaviors which will get me where I want to be.
The next ten days: Focus on doing more intentional exercise and be more mindful of when I eat. Make sure I not doing as much emotional eating.

My journey … ("I May Not Be Where I Want To Be, but I’m Not Where I Use To Be!")In 2003 Weighed over 600 lbsMy highest weight was 611 in 2003. Weight in 2004 before weight loss surgery was 580. Lowest weight after surgery was 302 in 2007. "I May Not Be Where I Want To Be, but I’m Not Where I Use To Be!"
In 2005 Weighed under 400 lbs
In 2007 lowest weight after surgery 302lbs
I joined MFP on March 27, 2010 weighing in at 388 pounds. I was re-gaining weight and stumbled up on it while trying to get back on track. I was determined never to see 400+ on that scale again for me.
I have been morbidly obese all my life. I have a lifetime of mental and physical scars from obesity. In October 2004 I had Gastric Bypass surgery. WLS (Weight Loss Surgery) was the best gift that I could and did give to myself.
Between 2008 and 2010 I gradually gained back 80 of almost 300 pounds lost initially after weight loss surgery. I never reached my goal weight of 200 pounds. I still managed to keep off over 65 percent of the weight I lost which is very good and I am very proud of my accomplishments since 2004. It has literally changed my life for the better on all levels. I am here to lose re-gained weight and to reach my initial goal weight. I am in no hurry. I am taking this one day at a time and I am in it for the long haul.
Surgery did not fix the head. It is a good tool and the best gift I have given to myself, but it was not the easy way out as many people think. Once the honeymoon period is over after the WLS it is up to the patient to keep the weight off.
On August 29, 2011-- I was admitted to Intensive Out Patient Eating Disorder Program to learn how to manage my binge eating disorder effectively. The program is wonderful indeed and will be instrumental in me reaching all of my goals. The focus of this program was how to eat and not diet. Weight loss was not a goal of the program. I actually gained 20 pounds in program. But I had to get thru a lot of stuff and my the time I was released I had stopped gaining. I was discharged from program on December 3, 2011.
My tool is still working for me today. My head is still the issue. SO the struggle continues. I will never beat myself up again. I fight the fine fight faithfully and positively everyday. Because that is what will get me to my goals one day. Even though it may not show up on the scale every day -- Everyday I make progress one way or another just by showing up, waking up and trying.
Giving up is not an option for me. Perseverance, Patience, & Positive thinking will help me reach my goals…… and the same is true for you too!! We have the power within us.:flowerforyou: SW 373.4 - 1/3/19 EW ??? - 12/31/19 :flowerforyou:Round 64 - SW 373.4 EW 369 (-4.4)

Day/Weight/Comment
10/30 135.6 – walked 8.63 miles yesterday, calories under goal but carbs and fat slightly over
10/31 136.2 - walked 12 miles & an hours yoga, after we were told that one of our yoga buddies had suddenly died at the age of 53, such a lively vibrant girl!! It just flipped me, I was so shocked, I went totally off the rails, couldn't even tell you what passed through my lips after that, sigh, why ? So today is a new day, I start again, I'm lucky not to be up more, but now 9 days to wearing that dress!

10/30 - 67,5 - still TOM. I wonder what my data is going to show in the end, it’s the first time I am tracking everything this well. So I am unbothered by the ups and downs. I feel sore but good. Excited for this new 10 day focus challenge.
10/31 - 66,7 - is this water flushed out post TOM ? Maybe (probably). Data inputted in my spreadsheets and feeling a bit lighter :-). Also took my measurements (twice a month) and got some nice losses there as well.12 -

I haven’t seen anyone else mention this, but I found this on the MFP announcement section. Since I don’t really look back at previous meals this won’t affect me, but I thought some of you may want to save data on spreadsheets, etc. before tonight.
“Beginning Nov 1, 2019, MyFitnessPal users have a two year look-back on their diary data. While data older than two years will no longer be accessible (including food, exercise and water entries), you will continue to have the last two years of your diary entries. You will still have access to all other information on your account including your weight and other measurements logged.”

4.- Stay on current weight or less
Date – Weight in of the morning– Summary of the previous day:
10/30 - 154.6, yesterday was a quiet day, it's nice being on holiday and not doing anything for once. My daughter has a lot of school projects so that's taking up most of our time. I'll be going to the gym later.
10/31 - 153.6 (-1.0) That was a surprise, but I did complete a very good workout at the gym yesterday with 35 min interval run on the treadmill, a first for me but I really liked it, which I followed up with 20 min mild elliptical workout. Food was on track. Still got the migraines even though the sport helps so much with them; I'm hoping the treatment will kick in soon, it can take between 2 - 8 weeks to see if it works.

10/30 - 159.4
10/31 - 159.0 - I splurged a little with a single reese's pumpkin (pumpkin and trees are the best, I swear. Its gotta be the peanut butter to chocolate ratio!) Also had a granola bar because I needed SOMETHING to get through the day after lunch settled out. But I'm out of granola bars and the reese's was from my neighbor. Today is food truck day so I'm going to have to do my best with that. I know they have good options. Dinner is thawed and ready for cooking (zucchini spaghetti with homemade meat sauce). That will also give me lunch tomorrow! Black ice out so not sure if I'll get a good workout in. But trying to just move more throughout the day if I can.

Previous Day's Comments10/30 - Um, whoa! I finished my ham&beans at lunch and had a small FiberOne bar as a snack to hold me over until dinner (I knew I had to cook so it'd be longer). Other than that, I stuck to a primal/paleo diet yesterday. Just didn't want to waste food so I finished it off. Today I have a ton of roasted mixed vegetables, some mashed butternut squash, and baked chicken breast for both lunch and dinner. Luckily I didn't have much in my house grocery-wise so cleaning out non-primal foods really wasn't hard at all. It was stuff that needed to be tossed anyway because it was on the older side. Now I need to make sure I meet 1200 minimum (I was 50cals under yesterday) and ideally 1500 with this change. Must buy appropriate snacks! Need to go grocery shopping anyway. I'm lacking frozen veggies (ideal given my travel schedule -- at least I know I won't waste it). Also, restarting IF because I felt amazing on it once my body adjusted and I miss that.

10/30 185 (-1.0) this is the same pound that I bounced around all last round. I'm hoping this round will go better. Last round I tried to incorporate some drinks a few nights and it totally stalled me. So hubby and I decided to do a dry month (ish. We're going on vaca and may have a drink while out at dinner once in awhile but mostly we are cutting it)
10/31 186 (+1.0) this same pound up and down. I did my workout and food was ok. Realized my "small" snack was suddenly worth 500 cal.

10/30 131.8, just made it below 25 for my BMI at the end of last round. Hoping to have a good round since the holidays will likely be harder to lose (will be happy to maintain)
10/31 132, I went to a basketball game and had a hot dog and popcorn so this number is welcomed for the amount of salt I had. I’m ok if this is higher over the next couple of days, but will be back on normal food and exercise today

Goals this round.... Little to no added sugar; no flour products; calories below maintenance. I’m setting up my own system to track the days I stick to those goals. This round I will check in daily on my goals, but weigh only on days 5 and 10 as an experiment. And I’m considering this round a new restart.

We had to go to Indianapolis yesterday, so I spent driving calories, about 7 hours worth between there and back and around Indy. I did stick pretty much with good food choices until late evening when I had some ice cream. But I’m determined to eat properly the rest of this round. Thank you all for your inspirations, examples, and support.

Happy Halloween & Blessed Samhain! So far I’ve successfully ignored the candy sitting on the counter for this evening’s spooky little beggars, but I was not so successful with the zucchini bread or calories at last night’s Master Gardener meeting. But today is a new day.

10/30-175 Well, this is the goal weight I set yesterday...Nice surprise. It’s my first mini goal.😊 It will probably go up tomorrow, but since it’s the first day of the challenge I’m adjusting my goal for this round to 174. Been eating super clean lately a so whoosh down isn’t undeserved. Challenges coming... Halloween tomorrow, bottling wine on the weekend, the dry aged steak in my fridge should be ready this round too, and I’m prepping my yearly batch of buckboard bacon in November. I think I really need to ensure I put a lot of focus on this challenge in November/December. Portion control will be my main goal for the next two months. Taste testing will need to be monitored well, such a slippery slope it can be. Not expecting to lose leaps and bounds the next 2 months, but it should would nice to go down a bit over the holiday season and maintain what I have lost instead of losing focus and letting the scale creep up.
10/31-174.4 Still swooshing...Body must be prepping for Halloween😊. Great way to end October though. I feel accomplished. I have under 5 pounds before it my year end goal. NSV this month, all my winter clothes fit! Sure didn’t a couple months ago. I’m not dreading “Winter is Coming” And most importantly my neck injury isn't bugging me anymore. Anyways, another great clean eating day and got my exercise in, hopefully my hand will be up for more yoga next month.

10/30 163.5 Same as yesterday. I got in 4.25 miles, 2.25 of that more hiking than walking. Ended up having a salad for lunch and salad for dinner. After committing to eating out less, my friend asked me to dinner last night and I said yes. I had a salad again because it was the best choice. I REALLY wanted their brisket grilled cheese which is the BEST but even half of it is expensive on calories. Freezing rain this afternoon, no outside walks. I did bring stuff for the gym if the weather allows I'll lift weights tonight.
10/31 164.2 ARGH. I'm not sure why I'm up. I was good yesterday. The weather did not hold off, so no gym. No exercise tonight because it's HALLOWEEN! Don't be frightened by my scary ghost costume.

@Hoopsguy72 I’m so glad that we are inspiring each other! Even cutting your carbs without going full on Keto will make a huge difference. Back in the ‘60s my dad had one of those carb counting books that said “anyone” would lose if the went to 60 grams or less per day. Knowing that there are NO ESSENTIAL CARBOHYDRATES makes it less of a mind game. I had some trouble convincing DH of this - his argument was that I needed fruit although he had no reason why. I’m happy to help anytime you need it. As far as sustainably, some people have eaten this way for decades, I’m at 2.25 years and the vast majority of the junky carbs no longer taste good to me. You’ll get there!4
