My NSV this week is that I'm going to be kind to myself 😏
I realized I've been edging into extremely restricted eating the past few weeks due to an upcoming doctor's visit making me feel defensive. My body & mindset are not doing as well, which is inching me into a spiral of ultra-healthy followed by not healthy eating, feeling unsatisfied & hungry, etc. In the past I'd get angry at myself, but today I'm going to recognize what's happening, the reason behind it, and just take a big breath. It's ok, self. We've got this 👍33 -
I wore a size 12 (US) pair of slacks to work yesterday. I haven't worn a size 12 since I was 12. When I started this journey I was in a 20. The biggest I've been is a 24 so a 12 seems an awfully lot like a miracle.46

So I’m coming down with a cold, and usually my MO is to do anything and everything that might make me feel better. From eating what I want to not working out, you name it. Now, it might seem odd but when I feel sick my go to meal is McDonald’s cheeseburgers and fries and a root beer. This has been my “sick meal” for as long as I can remember. I always used to think it made me feel better but today, when faced with a drive through of McDonald’s or going home and making lunch I chose to go home. I had to talk my way out of turning off and going to McDonald’s the entire way home and I came soclose to turning and getting it but I didn’t! That is a HUGE Win for me.49

Wearing a size down in jeans for jeans day at school. Others looked too baggy in the rear.

Looking at comparison photos from last year at this time, trying to figure out where the couple or three pounds I’ve gained since maintenance are going, and it looks like my belly is flatter and more defined and my glutes are more prominent. Recomp heck yeah!35

Wearing a cute button down dress for a day out today - and not only doesn't it gape anywhere, it's a bit on the baggy side as well! Back in April when I started this journey, I didn't have the confidence to wear dresses except really special occasions - and a uk18 would have been too small. Now, I wear them on a weekly basis, and am buying smaller sizes! Feeling great25

darklyndsea wrote: »My bust has shrunk 3/4"! I mean, it's not much in the grand scheme of things, and my waist has shrunk several inches so it's not helpful proportionately, but it gives me hope that it will shrink more.
Take heart - after years of not being able to buy dresses as top was at least 2 sizes bigger than bottom, finally, as I near my preferred weight, my boobs have reduced to a normal size and I can wear dresses. They were def the last thing to go.20 -
I'm sure others recognise this, not finishing a lunch out because I'm full. Not belly aching full, but just content. I hate waste, but really me eating excessive calories isn't stopping waste.26

1) 95th parkrun.
In the rain.
AGAIN.
I am still rather soggy around the edges . . . . but glad that I went.
2) I slept extremely well last night, for the first time in months. Woke up refreshed and eager to get on with the day.
That may have been because my DH and I went out at 9.30pm last night for a bike ride (don't ask why, I can't be bothered to explain. Let's leave it at my teenagers' usual response of "because, reasons") and didn't get back in until 11.15pm. It was great fun, even though it was dark (we had lights and were on cycle paths). I may have found a new aspect of cycling . . .29 -
I did NOT eat ANY Halloween candy this year! First time ever!27

There were a bunch of teens playing basketball in our cove when I got home today so I took our extra bag of Halloween candy out and asked if they wanted to split it among them. Made friends AND got rid of temptation!29

Liked the wsy I looked...wait for it...sitting down.
I saw myself in the mirror and noticed the shape of my body has moved from circle to square to rectangle to now shapely.

But I dressed for it and headed out the door anyway. And of course you know how the rest of the story goes......I had a good run and am very glad that I went. Which is exactly how I knew it would be. And yet I had tried to talk myself out of going. I guess the NSV is that I was able to over ride my default setting of sitting in a warm house with a cup of coffee in hand.
This was me, today. We had frost this morning and I was still a bit worn out from my long run on Thursday. Add in PMS on top of that and I was finding all kinds of excuses to skip my run.
I laid around for about an hour or two before I finally just got up and did it. I ran my scheduled 3 miles and managed negative splits without even trying.

Made it to the mall today dressed in a new, nicely fitted jacket, and older jeans and T-shirt I haven't worn comfortably in almost two years.
Felt great! 😎22 -
Mine is that I like what I see. Hard work is paying off.✌🏽

While my weight has gone up and down with the same 2 ½ lbs these past 2 weeks (hopefully it’s settled and ready to start going downward again) I’ve seen some great improvements in other areas.
My shoulders are noticeably defined and feel solid. My biceps have definitely grown and will look amazing once the layer of fat is reduced.
After a 9 week plan of powerlifting, in my test week I deadlifted 120kg, bench pressed 55kg and squatted 100kg. For the next 6-8 weeks the plan will centre more around bodybuilding workout so I’m looking forward to seeing what that will bring to my NSV’s.19 -

Que the whistling. Lookin good, girl!4 -
Today's NSV is I was able to jog on the treadmill for a whole minute 😁 I can speed walk all day but this body has never been able to jog for more than a few seconds before 😮36

Today I went to the shop and bought a new pair of exercise leggings - in a size Large. They are a good fit and have positive affirmations written on them. My XL exercise leggings are sagging down around the crotch now because my stomach has shrunk so much that the material just hangs down.

I'm starting to see more of the shadows that define my ab muscles and hips
My pants are ALL falling down... and my shirts are too baggy now. Even my under bra circumference has shrunk (cup size the same but I'll have to change the band width underneath, which is showing uneven pockets now...)
I'm happy about the weight-loss... though gosh, I gotta get a new wardrobe!22 -
bought a new work dress from Next (UK10 bodycon), then went and got a tweed jacket (French Connection, UK14). And the larger size label on the jacket didn't phase me one bit30

After being on a low-carb diet for a week, I've transitioned into a straight-up Keto diet - and my body has finally stopped screaming for sugar lol! I feel like everything is much more manageable right now.15

1. Went hiking this weekend. Did a 2.6 mile round trip to a water fall, and the 1.3 miles to get there is entirely up hill. I went at my boyfriend's pace and didn't have any trouble keeping up! I also made it to the top a good 15 minutes before my sister muahahhaha
2. I posed for tons of pictures, and loved them all.
3. I made cupcakes for a birthday, and only ate 2.
4. I didn't over snack the entire weekend in a cabin, or even use the excuse of all the hiking to justify binges.
Overall, i'm proud of myself!32 -
Bought new pants that were 2 sizes smaller than 5 months ago and they're loose.
Got a haircut and they accidentally used my son's card instead of mine. 6 months ago, my head would ahve looked like a pear with my hair this short. Doesn't look bad.16 -
I started doing 21 Day Fix 2 weeks ago and my pants were getting pretty tight 😬 which I was trying to ignore and pretend wasn’t happening. Well today I pulled my size 8s out of the dryer (you know when jeans shrink down to their smallest size are the least encouraging to put on) so I braced myself to try and squeeze myself into them and they went on super easy with no muffin top! It’s a small victory but I’m still pretty excited about getting back on track.27

I am not certain this is a NSV or just the solidification of a previous one: Today, I packed up all the mobility aids I needed to use last year and the first part of this year as part of my hip replacements recovery and took them to Goodwill to make them available for others who might need them. As I posted elsewhere, it was time to put more distance between me and my recent immobile past.38

I carried 6 bags of groceries at once up a flight of stairs into the house! 🏋️♀️30

We got our family photos back and instead of only picking ones where I looked the least fat (which normally left me like 3-4 pics total) I liked the majority of the pictures!!!32

So after being in denial about regaining I decided yesterday that I was going to have a no-excuses November. So thanks to the time change I have been up earlier than usual. Sunday I went out and helped my husband in the yard before church. Monday was 31 minutes on the stationary bike and today was 30 minutes of strength training in the wellness center. It was with minimal weight as I didn't want to push it the first day but it is a start.30
