What is your "Petty" Reason to Lose Weight?

For the most part everyone is slightly asymmetrical from the left to right side– for me, the difference is a bit more pronounced as I’m a quarter/half inch shorter on my right side than my left. I have two different shoe sizes, my right leg is shorter so I strain my left side muscles more, I lean slightly to the left...and the left is the home of The Thing.
I’m a pear shape with a classically large German hausfrau butt and hips. I have saddlebags, but the one on the right side of my body curves with my hip into my thigh. The one on the left? Imagine a sugar-cone ice cream. My thigh goes up in pretty much a straight line and then just jams into this unpleasant “scoop” that juts out like a roadside billboard.
I’m actually quite confident with my body but lord I hate The Thing. One saving grace is that when I start losing weight it visibly shrinks– I only weigh myself once a month but I can keep track based on its status. It’s kinda my adipose barometer.16 -
We are gathering for my Dad's birthday in January. The last time we got together was a funeral in Oct '18 and even my Dad joked about my weight. I'm not going to be skinny or anything but I hope to give them a bit of shock.15

I've got a few petty reasons underneath the overall "I just want to be healthy and live longer". I am getting married next year in such a beautiful place. I want to be the hot wife. Especially because my fiance's ex has harassed me online. At least I won't be ugly inside or out. Also I have a couple ex's that I know would absolutely regret the way they treated me after I glow up.10

I want to be thin for clothes to look good. Annnd my husband gave me a motivation that if i can get to whatever my goal weight is, he will take us to where we honeymooned - Mexico!! Sooner than the expected 5yrs from now for our 10yr anniversary.7

My husbands mom isn’t in the picture for a lot of reasons.. but my petty point to lose weight is because I want to show the *kitten* that my weight isn’t an excuse for her to use to hate our marriage.14

I have many reasons but here are my fun petty ones:
1. To do a victory dance in front of my brother who loves to taunt, tease, and sabotage me by sending me cookies from Brown Butter company for this sole purpose at his confession.
2. Get admiring looks, delightful compliments, and a tasteful attraction attention not slobbering lust comments.8 -

My petty reason, I'm cheap and hate shopping. Smaller clothes are easier to find and cost less. Love this thread!!!7

Just like being shredded....its an unreal feeling.14

To look great in clothes and not be the biggest female in my family.9

Sorry @epangili just couldn't resist it! It is true though, I definitely wouldn't act on it though many years ago there were times some ladies made advances and it just ain't happened in as long as I can remember. It would, of course, be awkward now I have been married for so long though to have someone give me the 'eye', it would feel good.6

No worries, I'm not offended just smirking at the humor. I like the "eye" and up and down twice over look just not the obscene gestures that involve exposing tongue and hand particularly between the fingers. No, I will not demonstrate. Today I got a delightful compliment from a colleague, she greeted me, "Hey Skinny!" With a friendly look of admiration and a bit of jealousy.5

Last year's Christmas photos shocked me...it was when I realized how much I had gained. This year I want to show my family (mostly all overweight) that I have made a change for the better and impress them all and take cute x-mas morning photos I actually feel good about11

So we don't have the right buttons - need a 'grossed out' by the first bit (amazed that people really do that and don't realise the only thing that gets them is a bop on the nose) and loving the last part3 -
I just want to feel comfortable in my own body. I don't think I've ever felt that way. I've practically lived in jeans and tees/sweatshirts my whole life and felt like a frump. I want to feel pretty and stylish. I want to actually enjoy going clothes shopping!! So many times I went shopping for clothes and had to buy ugly stuff because there was just nothing cute or stylish in my current size or I just felt like 'why bother'.
I want my PCP to look at my charts and go 'wow what have you been doing?' I want my blood pressure and numbers to be normal. I want to walk upstairs without getting winded.
I went to the ER a year ago due to some strange virus that had made me terribly ill. The dr. called me skinny(I was 135). As sick as I felt, that part made me feel good. But then during 2019 somehow I gained 30#.
Yeh, I've got a mile long list of reasons I want to see my goal weight, many are petty, some are not.8
