A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.
This time last year I took my first steps. Keep at it. You got this!21 -

No Excuses November. I like that.8 -
I mentioned earlier liking so many more pics from our family photo shoot, this is one of the old pics (8 months ago) and the bottom is from the session we just had.59 -
I have an old T-shirt, from about two years ago, which was a requirement for one of the jobs. I ordered the size M, because that's what usually worked best for me. I think I was about 66 kg at the time. Anyway, the shirt arrived and I could barely put it on. It was suffocating me! Whoever made that shirt didn't know anything about sizes.
Fast forward to today, it's freaking cold outside so I need a few extra layers to keep me warm. I took that shirt out of the closet among others, and AGAIN it didn't fit me. I was so pissed at My Fitness Pal page, I thought here I am, doing all this work, religiously counting calories and I'm still struggling with that particular shirt, even though I've lost 5 kg?!
I decided I needed a workout today after all, partly because of my recent mood, but since I'm always sweating - I thought I'd be better off with as less layers as possible, so I took of my cami (undershirt). OH MY GOD!
It made all the difference in the world! The shirt looks so good on me now, and I can wear it and take it off with no struggle at all!12 -
@bear2303 - You are gorgeous! (In both pictures too!)8

This week has been full of surprising NSVs. This morning on my run I finished mile one in under 8 minutes! A new PR for me!24

@bear2303 Those face gains! You've made great progress toward your goals. (:6

Opened the snack cupboard because I was feeling a bit bored and still had some calories to spare. Looked inside, then closed it again because I realised I wasn't actually hungry and eating chocolate or sweets would just bring me further from my goal.30

My train was cancelled yesterday so I went for walk with the 20 minutes spare and into a local mini-supermarket. They had 12 Cadbury's mini-rolls with halloween packaging for £1. A bargain! I picked them up, wandered around the store, went back to the entrance, picked up two bananas and put the mini-rolls back.44

Had to be fitted with compression gloves thanks to the arthritis in my hands.
The OT went off and returned, stating that she'd brought back the smallest size gloves available.
They were still too big but the OT said that they'll have to do and that I should get some benefit from them.21 -
I no longer hate looking at pictures of myself
Also I went shopping this weekend with a couple of really close, really tiny friends who have been really supportive of me through all of this. They encouraged me to try on some of the same sizes of sweaters they were trying on, and they fit! Granted on them they were slightly oversized and on me they were more fitted, but they fit! Made me feel so confident37 -
Day three of no-excuses. It is supposed to get up to 50 here today. so I'm thinking bike ride. but it is supposed to hit 50 sometime this morning and then back down by afternoon. Contemplated a morning ride but a bit too cold and windy. So off to the wellness center. 10 minutes on the recumbent and 20 on the elliptical. It wasn't fun but its done.25

I stepped on scale today and hit my target goal of my high school weight as an active cheerleader head flier (tossed in air stunts) 26 years later in life!!!37

I've been practicing problematic yoga stretches 2-3 times a day, outside of any actual flow, and after a week of all the complaining and prodding, my body finally remembered how to do a sitting forward fold, and I touched my nose to my knees.
In fact, I still hate it, just like when I was in my teens. *nostalgia*
Moving on to being able to do the same in a standing forward fold, which I will also likely hate.
That said, the ability to do my poses correctly in a yoga flow will help me enjoy the flow more without having to pop mentally out of the zone to stare at the instructor/rewind the video and make mental notes about what I could be doing wrong to make the stretch less accessible.

did 150 push-ups yesterday. not all at once, but in sets with minimal rest between. When I started 7 months ago, I collapsed after 2 push-ups!36

So I ran 5.16 miles today. In a 9:55 pace. I looked back at my run history and my first earnest run was April 2nd. I ran 2 miles at a 13:14 pace. My average heart rate was also 10 bpm higher than it was today.
It’s taken consistency and dedication to get here and I am well aware that a 9:55 is by no means blazing fast but I’m proud of how far I’ve come!9 -
Scored a 93 on the USAF PT Test (not in the AF but was held at my gym), which falls under the excellent rating!25

Put on a size 6 dress I really love!👗♥️31

My NSV has been eating a healthy breakfast at home for the last week
Normally, my morning routine is going to Starbucks on my way to work for an everything bagel with butter and a cup of coffee. But since November 1, I've been making breakfast and coffee at home and it's been a nice feeling of accomplishment, which I don't get often. I switched out the bagel with butter for a multigrain english muffin with hummus and a hard boil egg. My coffee brewing could use some improvement, but hopefully that will happen as I make it more!25 -
I have not let the negative thoughts about restricting calories get to me. I have kept my average at 1800 and I can almost feel a mental barrier collapsing!23

I just have to share here because I am so damn proud and I know you all will understand.
So, this is technically a non scale victory, because its not my weight on the scale.
My husband is 300lbs. Granted, he only has about an extra 40-50 lbs of fat on him. The rest is solid muscle. The man is a rhinoceros. He spends so much time in the gym.
But, we all know what an extra 40-50 lbs looks like. And what it does to your body.
He's gained about 30 since we started dating. He says its partially my fault because I'm a good cook. Whoops, lol.
I tried to help him with MFP almost a year ago and he couldn't committ to it. I think its because I am a grazer, I like to eat every few hours. And I was preparing him food that way and it just got to be exhausting for him. That, and we lived in an area with no internet access and no cell phone service. Makes it a pain in the butt to log.
We've moved though, and I've started doing separate meal prep for him, with larger meals so he only has to eat 3 times a day and then there's room for his protein and a couple snacks.
Guys. Its been about a week and a half. And this man, this wonderful man of mine, has lost 6 and a half pounds already. Which, some of it could be water weight. But, I know the more you have to lose, the faster you are able to lose it. So part of me thinks it could be mostly fat. I know when I first started, I was losing consistently 3-5 lbs per week for the first month and a half.
Water weight or not, he is so excited and this has woken a new drive in him. He is so motivated to keep going now that he has seen a decrease in the scale. I am so thrilled for him. I love him entirely, regardless of if he loses the weight or not. But I want him to learn to love himself completely, too. And I want him to be around for a long time. It is so exciting to see what inspiring people and gently pointing them in the right direction is going.38 -
@brittanystebbins95 That's fantastic! I love that you are willing to cook differently to make things easier for him.7

Just tried on pants that I haven't worn in over 2 years and they fit! They're not even tight like I thought they would be! I really should have moved up to the next size of pants but I was stubborn and didn't want to admit that I'd gotten that big. Well now all my stubborn pants fit nicely and hopefully soon they will start getting loose22
-
OMG... today, a friend told me "You look like a model"!
Another said "You look amazing."
I guess I'm reaching my weight goal sooner than I thought, and can go into maintenance shortly!29 -
All my size 6 pants/jeans fall to my hips easily slide right off without unzipping, even my tightest cotton corduroy ones that I wore today were that loose. They're so baggy they look like extra weight I'm trying to hide but don't have anymore. Also, it's time to purge all the tent dresses I bought years ago to hide my trouble area.21

Fitting my ring on my middle finger16

I got complemented 3-4 times today wearing a particular blouse/shirt, its quite loose, but very structural. Sure I like it, the shape is unusual, but I've been wearing it about a month, many people saw me wearing this before. I think its the, oh, you look better than normal, what is it, oh it must be your shirt.20
-
I put on my tall boots (wide-calf boots) for the first time this year and holy cow the calf area is roomy now. I've got big calves, but they used to be even bigger!27
