@IsMollyReallyHungry @quiltingjaine My son now lives in Chicago and we have driven the 5 hours north to visit a few times. It is like a totally alien world. I worried so much when he moved there and messaged him every night to make sure he was alright. After 1 1/2 years, I am relaxing a bit and realizing there are good parts of Chicago too. We've had some really good visits and enjoyed a few of Chicago's highlights (including a boat cruise on the lake at sunset). I'm looking forward to many more visits but will always come home to Southern Illinois.5

11/09: 195.2(+.2) / 28.6% (+/-0) not to bad. These little numbers can mean so much. Still so much time.
11/10: 194.8 (-.4) / 28.6% (+/-0) I can accept this. Did Friendsgiving yesterday so was kinda an eat all day but I kept it light. Iβm going to attempt to go to the gym tomorrow
11/11: 194.4 (-.4) / 28.5% (-.1%) no gym today but soccer tonight so at least itβs something.
11/12: 195.0 (+.2) / 28.5% (+/-0) i feel this shouldβve been lower but maybe i shouldnβt have had such a huge breakfast before i weighed in. Oh well take it in strides.
11/13: 194.5 (-.5) / 28.5% (+/-0) had a decent day yesterday and actually went to the gym this morning.

11/09 -161.1 Big gain to start this round. My knees went out 10 days ago, so no ice skating right now, my back went out on Thursday, so no cardio or exercise of any kind and the scale is showing it. Normally I burn 500+calories per day through exercise. I can't/won't drop my calories to 700 to make up for it. Maybe my body will adjust.
11/10 - 161.1 Sunday. Held steady. I was able to do a small bit of gentle walking yesterday. I normally skate up to 2 hours on Sundays, lamenting that I can't do it today.
11/11 - 160.3 - Hmm. Maybe my body still thinks that I burned 1,000+calories skating yesterday. I did some pilates for knees, and other youtube exercises for knees and back. An hour of that burns hardly any calories. I will be doing the same type of thing today.
11/12 - 160.2 - Pleased to not be gaining any more weight with my inability to do any cardio because of my back and knees. Did more exercises for knee pain (1 hour total), but am not getting any full-body circulation or fat blasting.
11/13 - 159.2 - Had to do more than 2 hours of walking for work yesterday, the first calorie burn that I have had in awhile since hurting my knees and then back. Back is mostly better, knees are a work in progress.

@ConfidentRaven Yeah. I do my best to give it a "cursory look" when I have a bad weigh-in, but at this point I rarely dwell on it. This is a skill I am still developing, however.

Goal(s) for this round: Get under 215.0 and stay there. Keep up my progress 1) planning better when I'm having "cheat" days (parties, eating out with family and friends, et cetera), 2) limiting alcohol intake (no more than two drinks on any occasion, stick with red wine or spirit + diet soda) and 3) continuing to lift weights at the gym 3x/wk (no more misses without making them up, barring serious circumstances... I might have to miss a day next week again, though... last one).
Day/Weight/Comment
11/09: 216.0 (+0.2)/18.1 (+0.1). I honestly half-expected this number to be much higher. It isn't that I did anything wrong; I worked out last night and I ate "reasonably" reasonably. I think I thought I might have been dehydrated a bit at my last weigh-in, and that this could have accounted for my significant final drop in weight. I had plenty of water yesterday, though. Apparently ~216 is a thing. I'm excited.
11/10: 216.4 (+0.4)/18.1 (0.0). I had a nice brunch with my wife yesterday; totally stayed on plan regarding food quality, but probably had a bit more than I should have regarding quantity. I'm headed in the gym today, and my wife is out with her sister all day, so I should have a "good day" regarding health, fitness, and food intake.
11/11: 215.6 (-0.8)/18.0 (-0.1). I hit the gym hard yesterday, and I stayed within my calories. I'm going to chill today at home and try to limit my snacking.
11/12: 217.2 (+1.6)/18.2 (+0.2). This one is a bit of a headscratcher, unless I go back 2-3 days. Even then, it doesn't make a lot of sense. I limited my snacking significantly yesterday, though dinner was a bit of a $#!+show (not that bad, but could have been better). I'm going to roll with it; I won't let it derail me. I'll be in the gym tonight trying to work this off.
11/13: 216.0 (-1.2)/18.1 (-0.1). So this is a stressful week, I guess. I skipped out on my workout yesterday so I could stay at home and work diligently on meeting my Friday deadline. Things should be better after Friday. A lot better. I'm just going to have to grit my teeth and get through the next few days. I'm going to try to stick to my goal, but I will likely be pretty happy if I was simply able to maintain my starting weight for this round. I did pretty well with food yesterday.

OSW: 177.1 lbs
LTG: 105 - 110.0 lbs or BF 23-25% (or lower)

Goals for 10 Day Challenge: get back to 112.8 (lowest weight last round) and hold it!
Day/Weight/Comment
EW round 94: 114.8, BF% 27.5
11/09 DNW out of town for start of round. Did intervals this morning with dog and kids - run until HR reached 85% of max, and then walked until it reached 65% (repeat as many reps) so got a nice cardio workout in, though may have put too much strain on my achilles tendon. Went to the health and fitness center in town and was able to get my strength workout in so hopefully worked off the coffee milkshake (with whey protein at least) I had for lunch! Challenge dinner out tonight again!
11/10 DNW Was over on calories yesterday, but not too bad since I switched strength training to Sat from Sun so will just go under target for today. Achilles still a little tender from the intervals yesterday, so treating with ice and ibuprophen (rest + elevation too). Leisurely walk this morning with dog and kids helped, but avoiding any high impact exercise for now! 3 hour drive home, so will try to keep it elevated! Back to normal routine tomorrow and weigh-ins.
11/11 114.6, BF% 27.4 Glad to see a drop after the weekend with ice cream, a milkshake, pasta and wine! Muscle weight increased (if I believe scale :-) so back on track for the round! Incorporating Marcona almonds into the lentil/kale salad (https://www.bonappetit.com/recipe/make-ahead-lentil-salad) with grilled chicken tonight!
11/12 114.0, BF% 27.3 Steady drop again! Back to upper end of ideal weight for my height and 1.2 lbs to get back to previous low, but NSV like waist measurements and visible flab are definitely improving! Strength training in the am with trainer, and then will fit cardio in after work. Extra calories today, so fettuccine and shrimp for dinner.
11/13 114.0, BF% 27.2 Holding steady for weight, but BF dropped by 0.1% (often see bumps with increase carbs and weight training). Cardio after work.

My goals this round is (1) to see at least 4 days under 140 (2) drop my 10 day average another pound and (3) not to have a weight higher than 142.00. I would also like to see 138.xxx on the scale, but with 2 weekends in this round and starting so high from last round we will see what happens.

11/09 - 140.7 back down today. My husband wants to go and try this new Mexican food place that just opened so I am sure I will be back up. I don't know what is up with him and eating out the last couple of days, but it is his birthday so all I can do is fight through my sodium gains.
11/10 - 144.3 dang this is from a Bloody Mary and my food yesterday. I am pretty sure I was at maintenance calories, but the sodium was through the roof. I am going to try and drink a lot of water today.
11/11 - 143.4 well I am back down to my Fridays weight. I am so glad my husbands bday weekend is over and I can get back to normal. I was under calories yesterday, but didn't get my water in at all. Although I did have to go and get my ring from the jeweler yesterday and was shocked it fit even with my sodium intake. I took in it 2 weeks ago to get it re-sized. I had to have it taken in 2 sizes because I was worried I was going to lose it, since it was so loose. I am now a size 6 on my ring finger, lol!
11/12 - 141.3 And we are going back down after a decent amount of water yesterday. On track for today and dinner should be low calorie tonight. Maybe I will see 139.xx again tomorrow.
11/13 - 139.7 Back down to my lowest number this month. I am hoping by Friday I will see a new low, but not holding my breath. I was under yesterday just by a little, no alcohol, and plenty of water. That's 2 days in a row and on my way to a 3rd. I am going to try and do 5 days straight with all 3 of those things and see what happens.

Hi. My name is Trina.
I'm till trying to get down to 128, before officially starting to maintain, but mostly want to stay under 130. Also trying to keep stress levels in check and not succumb to comfort snacking. Chemo starts November 20 and it is starting to wig me out (pun intended...sort of!).

11/09 130.5 I did a ton of exercise yesterday, thinking weight is partially DOMS. However, doing a lot of comfort snacking today...so tomorrow that will be to blame for the still high number!
11/10 131.5 Snacking yesterday. I was stressed, hungry, cranky. Also went out for a burger/fries and a beer last night. I got carded and refused a beer (apparently that is the law here, although my husband and I and my friends of 50+ years have never had this problem before!) Just drank half of both of HIS beers. (Which means all the calories were his, right?)
11/11 131.5 Bummer. Time to get this lower again!

11/12 - 191.8! Stopped tracking for a while because of lots of personal drama occupying my time, I kept forgetting to track here, but I miss it because I was making good progress with it. I've made some progress on my own without tracking anything for the past 20 days, which is fantastic and I love being so close to the -25 lbs mark, but not as much progress made as I'd like, because in my stressed state, I was turning towards junk food I wouldn't normally eat. Things like McDonalds which I didnt even eat before starting to loose weight o_O Things have calmed down a bit, my dog is still very sick though and will likely need surgery soon which has been stressful, but I'm accepting things more and ready to get back on the proverbial MFP horse. Managed to stick to my diet today, haven't exercised today or at all for a couple of weeks besides some random weekend hikes. Hoping to get back to exercising soon
11/13 - 191! Whoa, big drop overnight, what a mood booster Just hit the 25 lb mark! Feeling really pleased with myself, especially since this came right in the middle of my TOM. Ate very well today and got a lot of exercise in plus got some really good news that a government's environmental ministry wants me to present my research to them for some conservation policy they are planning, so feeling really happy today hoping to keep riding this wave of good vibes after so many weeks of bad news.

Round 95
Please join us! Starting on 11/09 JUST GIVE ME 10 DAYS, we will begin Round 94
Anyone can join us at anytime during the round.
Join us! If we stay mindful we can do this, you can do this.
Welcome back past members, welcome new members, let's keep each other accountable for another 10 days!
Here is what you do: Post your daily weight and add little comments along the way of how your day went. Post everyday to let us know how you're doing! Copy and paste the days in your response--tell us how much you lost and other non scale victories (NSV) you'd like to share.
FOR NEWBIES - I find it easiest to copy the dates to a document or note in my device and edit it each morning. Then copy and paste to the message board. MFP will return you to the spot on the board where you left off on your previous visit which is nice to know if you like to scan all of the posts.

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

Day/Weight/Comment
11/09 394.2 - 2.0 lbs. β I quit WW today. I am going to stick with MFP and seeing my therapist every 2 weeks for now. My goal is to lose each round for until the end of year. I donβt want to put any pressure on myself right now with goals. My main goal is consistency. I reset my MFP ticker today also. I purchased an audible book on intermittent fasting by Jason Fung and someone else. Trying to get my head back in the game. I lost 0.8 pounds last round and another 2 pounds this morning! So I will continue to eat low carbs for sure.
11/10 396.8 +2.6 lbs.
11/11 397.8 +1.0 lbs.
11/12 400.8 +3.0 lbs. β Well I am getting back on track today. Weekend not good. Yesterday I had Chinese food late and it was very salty and greasy. I threw the rest out which is a win for me. I got by 6500 steps in Sunday and Monday and logged food on MFP. I have to get back used to using MFP. I did not have my Fitbit syncing here since I was using the WW to log my food. Finally got that working right! Today has been good so far. This too shall pass. I was looking at the end of this round and I see it ends on a Monday which means I have to have a plan for this weekend and Saturday we are having a girlβs night out happy hour party out from 4:00 to 9:00 for one of our friends who just retired. I am thinking now I am going to have a fish entree for starters. But I must have a plan in place before I go.
11/13 398 - 2.8 lbs. β I got in over 7000 steps yesterday and was in bed before midnight. Not perfect today, but ok. I plan on getting in another DVD tonight and I already did a 15 min walk at work. I forgot how much I loved the little message when you close your diary everyday -- If every day were like today... You'd weigh 385 lbs in 5 weeks! I always found it very motivating Do anyone else love that message?

Total change this round: +3.8 lbs.
My journey β¦ ("I May Not Be Where I Want To Be, but Iβm Not Where I Use To Be!")In 2003 Weighed over 600 lbs.My highest weight was 611 in 2003. Weight in 2004 before weight loss surgery was 580. Lowest weight after surgery was 302 in 2007. "I May Not Be Where I Want To Be, but Iβm Not Where I Use To Be!"
In 2005 Weighed under 400 lbs.
In 2007 lowest weight after surgery 302lbs
I joined MFP on March 27, 2010 weighing in at 388 pounds. I was re-gaining weight and stumbled up on it while trying to get back on track. I was determined never to see 400+ on that scale again for me.
I have been morbidly obese all my life. I have a lifetime of mental and physical scars from obesity. In October 2004 I had Gastric Bypass surgery. WLS (Weight Loss Surgery) was the best gift that I could and did give to myself.
Between 2008 and 2010 I gradually gained back 80 of almost 300 pounds lost initially after weight loss surgery. I never reached my goal weight of 200 pounds. I still managed to keep off over 65 percent of the weight I lost which is very good and I am very proud of my accomplishments since 2004. It has literally changed my life for the better on all levels. I am here to lose re-gained weight and to reach my initial goal weight. I am in no hurry. I am taking this one day at a time and I am in it for the long haul.
Surgery did not fix the head. It is a good tool and the best gift I have given to myself, but it was not the easy way out as many people think. Once the honeymoon period is over after the WLS it is up to the patient to keep the weight off.
On August 29, 2011-- I was admitted to Intensive Out Patient Eating Disorder Program to learn how to manage my binge eating disorder effectively. The program is wonderful indeed and will be instrumental in me reaching all of my goals. The focus of this program was how to eat and not diet. Weight loss was not a goal of the program. I actually gained 20 pounds in program. But I had to get thru a lot of stuff and my the time I was released I had stopped gaining. I was discharged from program on December 3, 2011.
My tool is still working for me today. My head is still the issue. SO the struggle continues. I will never beat myself up again. I fight the fine fight faithfully and positively everyday. Because that is what will get me to my goals one day. Even though it may not show up on the scale every day -- Everyday I make progress one way or another just by showing up, waking up and trying.
Giving up is not an option for me. Perseverance, Patience, & Positive thinking will help me reach my goalsβ¦β¦ and the same is true for you too!! We have the power within us.:flowerforyou: Since Round 94 (October 30, 2019) SW 397.0 CW 396.2 :flowerforyou:Round 64 - SW 373.4 EW 369 (-4.4)
