Well, I can say some of the research is true. I am noticing a general downturn in appetite and hunger. Been at roughly the same +-5lbs for 8 weeks. Actually saw a drop. Some could be a reduction in carbs and increase in fat. Macro split, when I track is roughly 40/30/30. Strange to be giving advice here now, even though its not always popular. What is a man to say? I have found a community that understands the struggle.
Success: Feeling better some days, not quite there yet, but anything is better than the hell I was living!
Struggles: R ankle and Knee giving me hell. Had o lower my lower volume in the gym. Most likely going to have surgery on my ankle in the middle of December. Hopefully found a WOE that means I won't have to out run the fork!

Success of the week: My weight is in the middle of my goal range. It is actually below the initial goal I set a couple years ago when I started my current journey, so I just need to see this as success. But....
Struggle of the week: My mass has been climbing slowly since the beginning of October. My weighted rolling average weight has been going up about a half pound a week.
Analysis: I don't know why I still struggle with seeing myself as successful in my journey. An external observer would certainly see my progress as a success. I'm still a couple pounds lighter than I was when I gained in August, and that was also just a little fluctuation. In reality, I'm near the middle of my goal range, and my weighted moving average weight is just a couple pounds over my one-number weight goal. I know it's really not that bad at all, it just looks like it to me sometimes when I look at that graph and just see a line going up instead of holding steady or dropping back to my actual goal. It is almost funny how our brains tease us like this. Because while I know I'm doing fine, somehow it just doesn't feel like it some days.

I understand where you are coming from, I hate when I see my trend go up. Mine was doing the same so I stopped eating back EX calories. Once I get my trend back to the bottom of my range I will start adding back in 20% of my EX calories until my trend gets flat. I think maintenance for me is going to require constant adjustment and vigilance. I am committed to doing it. Never go (gain) back!5 -

It wasn’t until I changed my Happy Scale graph to show the weight I’ve kept off the past year (posted up above) that I realized “Wait! I’m doing this!”
I think as the years pass, we will know our body’s needs better... I know I can now predict my weight most days based upon how I feel. (Took 4 years to get there lol)
I think a part of me is petrified - still - that I will gain it all back. Time will help that, I think. I think because it’s gone better this time than ever before, I feel I have to be hypervigilant. I’m hoping my habits will become even more entrenched, and I’ll be able to relax - a little.6 -

Successes/struggles: I spent 3 days with my son and family - so didn't have too much control over the food put in front of me. So, I have to learn to choose wisely and manage portion control. There was pizza available on Monday evening (grandson's 6th birthday) but I just sneaked a couple of small squares, sausages and pasta on Wednesday evening, exercised restraint again.
I agree with the posts above from @mtaratoot , @erjones11 and @MadisonMolly2017 , it is difficult sometimes to believe that I am managing this process successfully. It has to become a lifelong commitment to ourselves to maintain a healthy way of life.7 -

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: An expected jump in the scale after a salty meal eating out. Still, there were some of the mini-cycles of high- and low-calorie days lately that have characterized the last few weeks. There's a temptation that comes with, "hey, I know that I can eat all of the food tonight because I've been able to get back on track right afterwards" that's a slippery slope.
@mtaratoot I appreciate the reality check. I think some of my frustration stemmed not just from the number of days I exercised, but also from having to push myself much harder than usual to get in what I did. I think it may be time to mix things up, exercise-wise, to help with that.

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: I know a little late posting as I weigh in Saturday mornings. I was home all week. I would say I had a little less exercise then normal but I am trying to make sure I don’t go overboard exercising.
Weight is up, but I think it was from Friday night’s spaghetti dinner as I save up calories for a big meal and indeed had one and then weighed in first thing Friday morning. I also weight lifted Friday night which will cause some carry over water. I’m not worried about it as it will likely be back down next Saturday morning and I’m not going to time meals or workouts based on when my next weigh in is. I know I am on point with calories and exercise so a big pasta meal and weight lifting will do this.

Successes of the week: In the groove. Last week I’d decided to re-set goal range to 155-157. Four days later I dropped into 154’s & feel much better even than 157. Going for 154, then will see about 153.

Struggles: wanted to eat out. Got a healthy salad with chicken & then ate a piece of cake (better than I usually order) & I felt ill the next 6 hours. My body doesn’t do well with rich food anymore. This is actually helping me a lot when I desire it. “Remember it made you feel awful?! Oh yeah.”

Success of the week: My check-in last week was at the end of a slow, steady increase since that started near the beginning of October. It was the day before my highest scale weight since the beginning of September. It was a SLOW increase, and neither my scale or average weight ever got out of range. Paying attention helps, and I'm getting back to where I prefer to maintain.
Struggle of the week: Been sick with a cold. At least I'm getting plenty of sleep.

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: unexpected loss this week after eating at the same level as last week. We got hit hard by winter weather this week so I did a lot of shoveling snow and bringing fire wood into the house. This is all such sporadic and unplanned extra movement, I don’t even know how to log it. The weather is expected to be more temperate this week, so I will just continue as usual and see if my weight remains stable, as the numbers indicate it should. No need for frowny face reactions, already feeling a bit frowny on my own. Stay safe and healthy everyone.

Success(es)/struggles of the week: The weight on the scales this morning hides a dip to 48.1 (Wed) and a rise to 48.8 (Sunday).
I went up to Stroud for two nights again last week, we still don’t have a full diagnosis or a treatment plan. My son seems well enough but his short-term memory is very poor, and everyone (including the children) is getting anxious, irritable, tired. Every Monday we start the week thinking that surely we will find out more and each week by Friday morning we are fighting despair.

Successes: Starting to get into a routine with my new shift. I've stuck right around the same weight successfully.
Struggles: My trend has started to go up ever so slightly. I feel so scared that this is the beginning of a climb. I've got to keep a handle on this before I become more comfortable with this maintenance thing.

Successes: For the last 2.5 months I've managed to not consume a single piece of candy, a cookie, piece of pie cake. 2 weeks ago, I bought myself a bag of gummy candy (my fav) for a flight in 3 weeks and it's still unopened in my packing area.
Struggles: I'm struggling to eat more and reach maintenance calories (1800) (which you would think for someone who gained 15lbs in 8ish months it would be easy to do). For me, it's all in my planning so I don't get to meal time and do the "what should I eat". thing. If I do that, it will be a very low calorie meal. My brain has been wired this way for the time I've been losing weight.6 -

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: This week was not good. I received my second of a two-shot series of shingles vaccines on Tuesday. By Tuesday night I became very ill. Almost passed out in the night on my way back to bed from the restroom, went down and hit my head. Laid on the floor for a while and then finally made my way back to bed. I called in sick on Wednesday which according to my colleges has never happened before and I have worked at the same company for 21 years. Diet wise I could not take in enough calories for a few days and while I did exercise through Tuesday night after that it was out of the question. Finally feeling some better this morning. Not sure if I will exercise today or not.
