Update on mine:
More mobility my reason after placental abruption Csection lots of repair surgeries to bed rest for over a year.
SW 195 at last surgery over 2years ago
CW 151 -44lb weight loss I’m in the 40’s age range harder but not impossible
Way more mobility as I go still need more but compared to shuffling unable to get up stairs without pain y bleeding my new normal is way better than 2 1/2yrs ago! Now can tackle stairs to uneven ground easily slow moving but can do it without pain! No more bleeding. Can grocery shop do errands Huff y puff after Cant do it again for awhile but it’s better than hubby holding me up stopping 5minutes every few steps or leaving me at home. I’m moving faster than before not like I was before baby but it’s not a shuffle!
Gone from walking in house only to indoor exercise as I walk like leg raises! Success! Can touch my toes if I rock hard enough! Hopefully by next Christmas I’ll gain speed to this momentum!16 -
I want to be able to eat what I want at Christmas and know I can work it of quickly enough7

Cause my husband constantly speaks of me as if I'm crippled and on death's bed. And bugs me about whether I've updated the trust so everything goes to him if I die. (And he smokes like a chimney)15

Firstly outlive him to teach him, secondly tell him you've updated the trust and he only get anything if he hasn't smoked for two years as you are not going to waste money on someone who is actively killing themselves.12 -
a petty reason? ... to annoy certain people :P11

REVENGE for all the bullying.
I want the body, and healthy lifestyle to match all the things I’ve worked so very hard for in my life. My education, my career, my relationship, my life...14 -
Love this thread!! Real reason? Child with learning disabilities and partner 24 years older than me = I'm gonna be a carer for a looooong time, and that will be much easier if I don't have the T2 diabetes that runs in my family or am carrying around another me...
Inspiration? Several years ago as we were leaving a petrol station there was a woman in the car ahead of ours. She looked about 15 years older than me (if I had to guess) and HER GUNS. I want those.
Petty reason? I do really love when people ask how I do it...13 -
I enjoy being naked, and being naked is much more enjoyable when you aren't wobbling about the place. Simple as.20

I don't want to be the mom who lost her bod after delivery.8

To look better than the woman my husband goes running with. Seriously drives me insane.25

Tired of the "she let herself go after kids". Now I am in better shape than I have ever been and want to make it my goal because I am determined to maintain that.14

To wear shorts without feeling embarrassed.
Had not worn shorts for most of my life, so being able to wear it now without feeling self conscious - awesome!12 -

I thought I was the only one like this. I could count on my hands how many times during my whole lifetime I've worn shorts or a bathing suit. And I know it's just one of my own personal issues. (too many long ago voices in my head that I still listen to occasionally)I went to Florida with a dear friend of mine and told her I was going to wear jeans; she said I'd get way more looks dressing in jeans than I would shorts. Mind you, this was August. In Florida. Lol That was years and lbs. ago. I even bought a bathing suit this past year because I got sick of only tanning my arms.
So, to me, that is NOT a petty reason. Go for it!!12 -
To wear a two piece at the beach and not worry the whole time about how I look. It is hard to enjoy my husband and daughter on beach days in the summer when I am so self conscious....11

Even after losing weight, I don't have nice legs anymore so I'll still avoid shorts. I did find a bathing suit that has short legs on it though so I'm not completely self conscious in a bathing suit now.

It is very hard for me to admit this or even say it out loud. Years ago I had shed all my weight and become very thin and actually very fit also. Then I met this guy and started dating, got quite serious and was with him for years. We had even spoken of getting married. He said I was “too slim” and didn’t need to work out anymore (pretty much forbid it, but the blame is on me for having allowed him to dictate these things to me). He meanwhile worked out with a personal trainer and got fit while I slowly put some of my weight back on, still not allowed to diet or exercise. Then very recently I found out he had been cheating on me with his ex and walked away and started to focus on me instead. It is killing me to even type this but getting it out of me is helping. Now I am getting back to fitness for my own benefit and nobody will ever tell me how to live my life, ever again.56

That's not even the slightest bit petty: That's perfect. Applause!24 -

Sorry for all you've been through, but you're strong enough now to have learned & won't let it happen again. Many of us have been through something similar, so don't be embarrassed. But, he's the best 175-lbs you've ever lost! Good job, then...
For me, I've never been overweight, but did gain 20-lbs being on the road for 2-yrs & not having access to home cooked food, which is my normal diet. I just don't feel like myself & have a closet filled with clothing 2 sizes smaller that I'd like to wear now.
I refuse to give up some of my dresses, suits, dressy shirts... they're far too nice. So, that's my petty reason... fashion, haha.14 -
Thank you AnnPT77 and TarryTaffy Your kind words definitely have lifted me up9

To stick it to my manager. I’ve gained about 140lbs since I started working there and when I had to ask for another larger uniform last month she told me to lay off the McDonald’s. (Probably true but still rude)
Want to show her I can get back in my original size.26 -
Well, because a lot of people said I *couldn't*.... Also, never worn a bikini or done a proper push up, so it's on my bucket list!12
-
I want to run faster.
.....I get off more on being the beast than the petite/pretty one tbh.8 -
I fall off walls less frequently now I'm smaller.
OK, that's not strictly accurate. I actually fall off a lot more frequently. But I am doing harder climbs, and climbing for up to 3 hours at a time. Neither of these would have been possible when I was larger.10 -
I achieved a petty goal...to fit into a large t-shirt with no fat showing , only muscle. I still have fat, believe me , but I went from a XXXL to a L in 8 months time.23

This was a big reason for me too. Always being the biggest girl whenever hanging out with friends. It was so depressing. 60lbs down and a size 6-8, I'm still one of the bigger girls but only because two of them seemed to never grow hips when they hit puberty - in their 30s and they probably still shop in juniors due to their tiny frames. I've come to the realization that I will never be that size, but at least I'm not obese anymore.
It's a freeing feeling, I hope you get there soon!17
