Heeeeyyyyyyyy health and fitness crushers! I restarted (hehe) my health and fitness lifestyle 8/19/19. I did the calculations and if I keep at it, I should be hitting my goal weight by April 2020! Anyone else planning to reach their goal by then? Join me! It will be one heck of a celebration once we get there!!!! Then we start our maintenance work..... let’s go!

Okay I am committing to a healthier lifestyle with a weight loss goal of 40 pounds. Seems like a place far far away but this yo yo go nowhere has got to stop. Recently started cycling and am adding that to the mix. Day at a time for me. 🤞🏻🤞🏻💪💪2

Sorry I should have said Hi, I am Jules from Glasgow in Bonny Scotland.1 -
How much weight could I lose by the end of April 2020?
That is 186 days away or 26.5 weeks.
I have about 40 pounds to left to lose so the most I could lose safely for the next 20-25 pounds is 1 pound per week. So the maximum I could lose is 25 pounds for 25 weeks and then when I drop to about .5 pound per week when I get nearer to my goal I would lose another .75 pounds for the remaining 1.5 week.
That is 25.75 pounds total.
The problem is I have a trip and a weekend trip planned during that time frame and I like to relax around the holidays so I don't end up feeling deprived.
For ease of calculations I will assume each of the following 'relaxed' days I will eat at maintenance. I will probably eat a little more than that on a few of them
The trip is 5 days
Weekend trip is 3 days
Thanksgiving 2 days
Christmas 2 days
New Year's 2 days
That adds up to 14 days and on those days I will not lose weight.
That leaves 24.5 weeks so if I were projecting my weight loss for the end of April I would just say 24 pounds and leave myself a couple of miscellaneous days in there in case I need them. Of course I will be happy with any progress I make.
I started with a lot of weight to lose and I have been going at this for 20 months now. In the last year I have gotten quite good at ballparking where my weight will be at a future date using the system above.
100 percent adherence is a tough thing to ask of yourself and it is not necessary. We only have to lose weight most days. There are also recommended limits for weight loss depending on how much you have left to lose. See graphic:
