I had bought several new pairs of underwear about 1.5 years ago, and I’m noticing in the past few days that they’re now loose and gappy. Not a good look, lol, I guess I’ll need to buy some smaller ones!10

I met up with an old running friend I hadn't seen for a while. He said "you're looking... How should I put it... More athletic"19

Woke up this morning and my when my darling beloved boo husband saw me, he told me I'm looking younger than I did yesterday (I'm an older woman, btw)--BOOM and super YAY!
My youngest daughter bought some super cute TINY looking jeans for herself and asked her if I could try them on...THEY FIT!
Saw my dentist the other day and she said "hey skinny--you look so GOOD"
I'm GLAD to be alive and slim and trim!

Met my friend’s mom today. She texted my friend saying I’m beautiful.14

Can I just take a second to appreciate my legs? They have a shape. I mentioned before that for a long time, I didn't even have knees. My legs were tree trunks. Now I have clearly defined knees even with my legs straight. Admittedly a lil hard to see with black leggings. =P
That is seriously awesome and I bet you're so happy. Congratulations5 -

Hahahaha. Why are athletes always "lean" or "strong?"2 -
My sister admired how skinny my legs were in a picture of my standing next to my 6ft nephew and I said it looks that way because he's so tall next to me 4'11". But later I was in a movie theater with the recliner chair and noticed that when I sit with my knees drawn up touching together and my ankles together, there's a gap between my thighs which wasn't there before. Plus, it was comfortable to draw up my knees to my chest sitting down without out my big belly in the way.17

Stood for the entire day today and I barely even noticed. Before I would have been in so much pain, I would have sat every 20 minutes.19

Now wearing one size lower underwear!23

Because no one wants to be a fat ath . . .
. . . lete.
Yet, for around a decade, I was an obese athlete: Competing, in the pack, even won some age-group place medals. But you're right, people don't mostly call us "athletic" when we're fat. "A jock", maybe.14 -
Bought size 10 jeans today! :-)16

Hahaha. It's just funny when athletes always say the same thing. The whole, "I need to get my fat *kitten* into shape" is both loath worthy and totally lovable coming from my 5'3 110 lb friend.
That's awesome. I'm sure you're proud AF. What was/is your sport?3 -

Rowing. Bodyweight not much of a penalty, maybe even a tiny advantage in indoor racing - arguable either way. Bit of weight penalty on the water: My boat got faster when I hit maintenance weight in 2015, but my rowing machine splits stayed about the same (yet were more competitive in the lightweight (<135lb) W 60-69 class ).
Started rowing after mostly sedentary adult life at about age 46, following cancer treatment. Did some on-water races, and some indoor (rowing machine) races, mostly local/regional but a couple of big national ones (Masters Nationals, Head of the Charles). No longer competing, but still rowing regularly at age 64, usually 4 days/week during on water season, less during Winter, except for Concept 2 Holiday Challenge (200k between Thanksgiving & Christmas Eve, for me 6 days a week, a little over 13k left to go this year . . . then my volume will drop a bit, until Spring and on-water season. ).
Proud? Dunno. Don't really think of it in those terms. Having fun, though. :drinker:15 -
Been wearing XXL and XL clothes for so long. It was quite a shock when I comfortably fit into size L shirts recently.27

A few days ago someone said my legs looked extremely different and I didn't get what they meant. They looked the same as always looking down at them. However, they told me to look in the mirror and I was in shock for a bit. It's pretty awesome to me. I lost so much weight in my legs they are no longer touching anywhere, they are no longer chafing when I'm trying to walk. It's been that way for awhile now, and I just hadn't realized because the usual annoyance was no longer occurring. There is so much space between them now I can't even chafe them on purpose. A great feeling. Chafing was what always stopped my walks short in the past, now the problem is not having fitting clothes. I'll take that trade.24

Rowers have crazy bodies (I assume their hearts are pretty strong too). I don't know much about it but I have a friend who just did an...indoor marathon?....she claims rowing recruits ~84-86% muscles.
Don't need to race to train I'm in Boston. HOTC is a great event.

I switched my Apple Watch to the size “small/medium” strap yesterday lol18

i have not been overeating this Xmas. I know if I numb myself with food I can't make wise decisions. Drama has already started, daughter is sick and not coming. Well we are going away for a few days Xmas and I am not changing plans. Time for a Merry Xmas for a change.19

Bought my first outfit in a size 14 in about 8 years today.26

It just occurred to me that I've heard the phrase, "You're really strong" a lot over the past few weeks while I'm in fitness classes. That has been so cool.22
-
My husband wraps his arms around me and says, "you're so little!" almost every week now. I've never felt "little" in my life!21
-
I now fit into the smallest of the clothes I had stored away. Every new size I fit into from now on will be smallest that I’ve ever been (or can remember being) in my adult life.20

Again this year, I finished the Concept 2 Holiday Challenge: 200k rowing machine meters between US Thanksgiving (the week after my 64th birthday, BTW) and Christmas Eve. One day, and a few extra meters, to spare. I've been rowing for around 18 years, and have done the challenge a number of times (though not every year), including while still obese.
Along the way this year, I set some of the highest weekly "activity minutes" totals I've seen on the Garmin I've had for a bit over a year now. This included the rowing (6 days/week), spin class (2 days most of the weeks), and a little strength training.
The default weekly goal is 150 activity minutes (which I assume is based on governmental recommendations for 150 minutes of moderate activity per week, or 75 of vigorous. Garmin counts moderate minutes as 1 "active minute" each, vigorous minutes as 2 "active minutes" each.).
The last few weeks's totals were:
Nov 18-24: 517 activity minutes
Nov 25-Dec 1: 433
Dec 2-8: 757
Dec 9-15: 752
Dec 16-22: 830 (5.5 x the default goal)
I'm ready for a volume decrease, gotta admit.24 -
I finished the MapMyWalk annual challenge a couple of months later this year ~ lots of crap weather, including snow in October, really limited some outside walks. I am currently placed 927 out of 5,384 in my age group F 60 - 69. I use the treadmill when I must, but mostly walk our dog. Happy dog and happy me!

I (once again, for like the 2644th time) realized I'm a "serial starter". I go real good for a while, then peter out, then get re-energized for some reason and start all over again. But this realization was a little different...isn't that, like, everyone? We all have moments of doubt and stalling. With this thought came the comforting idea that maybe I'm doing ok, and that this is the way it is...starting, stopping, chugging along, and crashing off the rails sometimes. I don't need to beat myself up over anything! If I need to be a "serial starter", then so be it! I'll be the Queen of Starters! It just has me feeling a little empowered right now.
Having recently moved back to the states, I have access to the standard American diet again. And I have been a victim of the siren call of fast food. But I'm sort of...over it? Like it was all tasty and good for awhile, but I've lost interest and all I want it healthful, whole foods. Like I've had my fill and I'm ready to be done. It's a good place and I feel balanced: I satisfied my unhealthful desires without going over the edge, and have smoothly transitioned out. It's a nice feeling! Bring on the hard boiled eggs and roasted veggies!22 -
Happy holidays, everyone! My husband and I opened some presents already, and we got two giant chocolate bars. We looked at them and saw the flavors (one was lower quality ”dark” chocolate and the other had whole hazelnuts in it), and kinda went ”do you want to eat it? Nah, we have better stuff at home, let’s just regift those to someone who appreciates them”. The chocolate is good and nice and all, but not perfectly suited to either of our taste, so I’m thinking regifting them to more appreciative chocolate lovers and not eating 2000+ extra calories just because it’s there is a win.33

Had a fit German girl I occasionally see at the gym (I think she goes at different times than me) comment on my weight loss when I ran into her while walking down the stairs. So third person in as many days commenting and I’m almost at 55lbs lost (24kg). Glad everyone seems to be finally noticing 😊
Honestly I have never seen a girl who can do as many difficult type sit ups in a row as this girl. She has a tiny waist too.22 -
my weight's slowly getting more stable (technically have another 4-5kg to hit my goal, but I'm now on the higher end of normal BMI) after I actually ended up losing more/faster than I wanted... apparently despite basically maintaining this past month I'm still shrinking a tiny bit and I've been slowly replacing my clothes.. feels great to be able to order outfits online and actually have them fit OK
Also, my old jeans fit again

Wow! You look wonderful! I hope I look as good eventually 👍🏻😃🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟6 -
I just logged my whole day of Christmas eating. HONESTLY. More than double my daily goal. Sigh... I have been doing really well at eating to feel healthy and well. Today I just let myself eat the rolls, and pie, and ham, and more rolls. I am not even upset with myself. We had good friends over, played games and enjoyed ourselves. Now back on track tomorrow. This is just going to be how life is. Some days we eat yummy food that is not great for our bodies. But it is only one day. Not every day. Then back to healthy.
This is probably nothing new for many, but i tend to be an all or nothing girl. So learning to love and love life without letting it derail me is a great NSV for me today. Merry Christmas to myself and Happy Holidays to all!31
