The weekly team challenges will now be referred to as TRIBAL CHALLENGES.

What you need to do is a) report stuff and b) do your challenges.

1) I need your starting weight (Sept, 1st)
2) A tthe end of the week, tell me how often you did your daily exercise challenge, how much you lost, if you did your weekly challenge

Tell us a little about yourself.
What are your weight loss methods?
How do you exercise normally?

I'll start:

Tell us a little about yourself.
I'm a 22 year old girl ,244 lbs, living in various countries of Europe, work as an computer scientist/engineer and move a lot. Right now I'm starting a new project, so I'll be staying in Germany for a year.
I'm (obviously) not a native speaker of English - but I'm trying very hard to get closer to fluency. I travel a lot, am a bit of an adventure junkie (My rewards: outdoor camp, bungee jumping, husky trip..), and am currently living with an old lady, a religious fanatic, a schizophrenic, a kindergarden teacher, a scientist and two cats. Needless to say, my life is never dull.

What are your weight loss methods?
Mainly calory counting, living a happier life (been seriously depressed for 2 years, and turned my life around), exercise. try to increase proteins (insuline problems, PCOS,..), but it isn't priority right now.
I'm a foodie and love to cook and try out new food, which is both blessing and curse :-).

How do you exercise normally?
C25k, (Week 3), hard rides on my bike on the rest days, and probably swimming lessons soon. I want to run a 7km-charity run on Jan, 1st and a sprint thriatlon in March. I also sometimes go to dancing lessons (latin/faast), and have found free sports classes in my city that I want to exploit.

  • Hello, my name is Jenn and I am 32 (236.8lbs) and live in the US. I really have just started on this journey of losing weight and trying to get healthy. My other main reason for trying to lose weight is I want to start a family (already been through 2 miscarriages) . I am trying to get back into excising and thought this challenge would help motivate me. I am very excited to get started!!! I try to go to Zumba classes 2 -3 times a week and just signed up for the gym to go on my off days. When I don't have much time to go to either, I try and do the WII fit at home.

    Hello Group!
I’m Felicia and my starting weight (as of this morning) is 197.0

    About me:
I live in San Diego, California, I work in biopharmaceuticals, I’m a musician (keyboard and bass), I play/record/sing back up with my hubby who has been a recording artist since the 70’s. I have two daughters, and four step-kids, all adults with the exception of my 15 year old. Most of them are musicians. A major hobby of mine is gold prospecting with my hub in Arizona, New Mexico and Big Bear. It’s fun, but hard work. I have two furkids (Chihuahuas) who are the sweetest, non-yappiest pooches. I also tend to my food garden, which I’ve maintained for a couple of years now. I grow squash, berries, watermelon, carrots, tomatoes, peaches, lemons, avocado, plus much more.

What are your weight loss methods?
Low carb, I maintain a moderate ketosis, and low calorie, and of course cardio and strength training.

    How do you exercise normally?
Treadmill, bike rides around a local lake, walking, and weight lifting

    Hello Gang,

My starting weight today is 285.

I live in Dallas, Texas. I am a 44 yr old single mother of 3 great kids (most of the time). The 4th member of our family is a wiener dog with attitude
I am a professor and a student (working on my doctorate degree). I spend a lot of time working ministry at my church.

I started changing my lifestyle and eating habits in April of this year. So far I have lost a total of 32 lbs. I count my calories and focus on how I prepare my food. I am a southern girl at heart, and I cook that way. So this has been a big switch for my entire family. I just joined a new gym a week ago and so far so good. I also have been using videos and the WII to keep me moving.

    Go Team!

  • Hi, I'm Patience (yes, I do have patience, thanks). I'm 18, live in Maryland, and I weigh 187.6 currently. I babysit full-time and take a few college courses, though perhaps not this semester. I have asthma and PCOS.

I don't really have any weight loss method, just a healthy diet and pushing myself to be more active. I try to meet my vitamin a and c requirements every day, but other than that I'm not too fussed about specific stats.

I like to hike, and I go to the gym on and off depending on whether I feel like putting down the money for a membership at the given time. I've only been active for three months now, really, so I'm still exploring different exercises I might enjoy. Hiking, check; walking, check; running, so-so; the 30 Day Shred, oh god, kill me now. I've been really slacking off in terms of exercise the last couple of weeks, so I need to pick it back up.

Hi, i'm sandra, i'm fron NY and i'll be 27 on sunday :drinker:

i've been heavy my whole life. i'm not lazy, and i never ate a lot. i have a pretty active lifestyle because i work with kids and i love being outdoors. i don't like sweets or junk food, and i LOVE fruits and veggies. BUT...i was almost 300lbs. what killed me was being so busy all the time, plus having an italian family LOL. i wouldn't have time for breakfast, and at lunch i would run out and grab a sandwich from the deli, and for dinner, i would have whatever my family was eating, which was usually PASTA....mmmmmm!

i eat very healthy now, which i'm enjoying, so no complaints here! i miss the pasta and bread sometimes, but the number on the scale the morning after i said no to pasta and yes to salad makes it totally worth it. i "cheat" on holidays and birthdays. heck, i even cheat on OTHER people's birthdays LOL but i get back on track the next day.

as for exercise....well....i don't. at least, not as any kind of routine. i have wii in my basement and sometimes i'll play zumba party or dance dance revolution, but that's mostly for fun, and only when i feel like it. i mostly try to stay active and moving, but i don't really "work out".

i did the august challenge, and i did really well, and i could definitely tell that i've been improving, so i'm excited to see how much better i get with September!

PS - day 1: complete

  • Hey, sorry to bug you again, cml_b, but I'm actually kind of confused by the schedule. Are we meant to do the first three Pygmy days, rest on the fourth day, and then do the advanced exercises for three days and have another rest day? Or am I missing something?

Hi...Sorry I'm a little late posting. But I'm back and dedicated to making Sept one of my best months in a long time.

I'm 32 years old and have had weight issues all my life. I'm tired of being on this rollercoaster and is now committed to a healthy lifestyle not just a diet. I'm a Counselor at an outpatient drug rehab program and just started grad school majoring in Social Work. I hope to one day have my privated practice. That's just a little bit about me.....

My starting weight as on 9-1-11: 251.5
My goal is to workout 4 days a week in addition to doing the daily challenges. I'm not on any special diet, I just cout calories and watch my carb intake.

Good Luck Everyone and feel free to add me as a friend.
