Welcome to the MFP Community! This is a discussion we have created to welcome the new people in our community, to have a discussion where new folks can meet one another, AND ask questions of existing members.

We are not going to do an adopt-a-noob discussion this year so we encourage our awesome veterans to hang out in the discussion if you are interested in helping answer questions our noobs need to know.

Hi everyone - Noob here too day 1 today and it's about time to take that leap. Mad at myself I got within half a stone of my goal weight 2 years ago then moved home and everything just went pear shaped lol. So now it's time for change one day at a time to lose 45lbs to get to my goal weight :)

Hello - Day one and I've gone over by 19 calories but all things considered I think that's pretty good

Nineteen cals over isn't a big deal. Remember, that's only a small amount of your total deficit for the day. IMHO, within 20-50 cal either side of calorie goal is perfect :)

Ok people. Today is the day I start my journey. Lost 44 pounds on keto but not sustainable. Gained almost all of it back. Need a new strategy.

Hello new on this site, just wondering does everyone here just have the original MFP? And is it effective on its own? Or did everyone upgrade to the new and improved
MFP the site keeps advertising for a monthly free?

Personally I have never seen a need to have any more than the free site. It gives me all the tools I need to lose weight. But some people prefer a more in depth look at their nutrition and the prime membership gives you that I believe.

My advice start with the free membership and review your needs after you have been using it for a while.
