I got back on track with the workouts over the weekend, which was super cool...cold seems entirely gone now. Also managed to lose 2 lbs in December, so not the full 3 lb goal, but slow progress is better than no progress...and I did the math and adjusted my formulas for my actual maintenance calories for January...which should be cool...I'm looking forward to taking a month off the weight loss wagon, and I have lots of cardio planned since I've been neglecting that for the last few months...might as well take the time off to build up the heart while I'm in maintenance!!!2

I maxed out at 47 kilos on bench. I was really hoping to hit 50 kilos and will fight to get it next max out. This is the first time in 11 months that I didn't PR for deadlifts which are typically my best numbers. I am still at 40 kilos for squat. I'm not going to give up or give in. Hot yoga ensued to stretch these fatigued muscles out. Have a safe and wonderful night kids.2

Well it's 2020 kids. I am not a new year's resolutioner. When I have goals or projects, I just put them into motion and stick with it. I have a meet in March and training is back underway. It felt good to hear that steel bounce rhythmically today. I am very focused and very determined to do even better than my 1st meet. Needless to say I'll keep you updated. Oh and Cryotherapy is definitely worth its weight in gold.4

I forgot to mention my NSV. My daughter and I went shopping and she found a pair of jeans that I had to have. She didn't like how they fit on her and I decided what the heck and tried them on. Well I could fit her junior size jeans and there's a 40 pound difference between us. Heck yeah I brought them. That was further attestation for me to love steel even more than I do now.3

I've been out of the gym for a couple of weeks, but I've been walking with the dog regularly. Back at it this week.2

Happy New Year, Kids.
Had a false start with my training build last week, due to a lingering sinus infection. Needed to take a full week off.
Just about over the sinus stuff, so I'm really looking forward to getting after it in prep for an April race.

Went back to classes last night. There was a new instructor who also does personal training (lifting!). We are scheduled to meet tomorrow before class. Yay! This young man used to compete in body building and has gotten his trainers certification. Maybe, just maybe this guy might work out for me. So excited! Not that I want to get into body building competitions, but I do want to continue to strength train properly.
Anyway, tabata class was good and am feeling it today.1 -

I've just joined the gym and the PT there has got me doing tabata workouts. You don't realise how hard you've worked till the next day 😂0 -

I remember when I was super-duper excited about strength-training....I want to get re-connected with that "feeling"...and QUICKLY!
Mind you, after 5 months of tough-tough workload and heavy hours, I am FINALLY coming down with a horrid head-cold. I know it is horrid because my teenager came down with it on Saturday and my husband on Sunday and I've been watching the horror of it inside my house....hoping that I did not fall ill. But, I did.

Hey kids, I guess it is something in the air as everyone around me has some kind of cold and/flu symptoms. Ugh. Sdereski, I hope you enjoy the strength training. I swear I wished I had listened to my own gut when other's discouraged me from doing it. People had me believing if I lifted heavy I would be a female version of Arnold Schwarzenegger. Lesson learned that's for sure. When I get that serious burst of energy I complete 2 programs in a day. Today was that day. I completed my squat and bench programs. Cryotherapy you say; ugh yes. Beeps, hope you and yours feel better.2

Hi, I just found this thread. I'm Dani, 47 years old and tired of being fat, so decided to finally get serious and do something about it. I'm keeping things simple. Drink more water, eat less garbage, move my butt more, go to the gym 3-4 times a week, and stop mindless boredom eating! I'm 218lbs, and my ultimate goal is somewhere between 130lbs-140lbs. My first goal is to get under 200lbs and then after that I'm going to break it into 10lb chunks until I reach my goal weight.
My other huge motivation is that I've been invited to a Great Gatsby 20s theme wedding in October, and I found the perfect dress and I want to look f-ing amazing in it. So a little over 9 months to get as close to goal weight as I can!
