Move to Belize.
We have almost no debt (small HELOC - about a quarter of our home's market value), and are ready to retire someplace warm, sunny, and slow-paced.
Plus, I want to grow all the tropical fruit I love to eat!0 -
#1 Call my hubby and tell him he can finally quit the job he HATES.
#2 Pay off debts.
#3 Put half away in a 'safe' place.
#4 Probably move to Vancouver, Toronto or maybe even Los Angeles so my husband could pursue a career in acting.
#5 When #4 fails, move back home and life off #3 for a while ;o)0 -
Pay off all my debt, buy my dream car, and buy a house with a "motherinlaw suite" for my Momma. And if there was anything left over, travel!! First stop, Ireland!!
A fine choice and we would be very happy to welcome you. Especially with the million bucks n all.
lol!0 -
I'd pay off my car (I still owe something like $6,600), buy a nice little 2-3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home (about $300,000 in my area), fly out to California to see my in-laws (I actually love my in-laws! That'd be only $350 or so) and give my mom some as a thank you for raising me gift (prolly about $100,000) then put the rest in savings.0

Wait until the cheque clears.
Hand in my notice at work.
Give some money to family members.
Hire a personal trainer.
Buy a new house back in the North East near my family.
Renovate my current house and rent it out.
Fertility treatment.
Holidays.
New car.
Open up a Guest House in the lakes.
Open up a pousada in Brasil.
Not that I've ever thought about this before....haha0 -
I'd pay off my debt as well then buy a new home, go shopping, give some money to family, to charity and do some travelling but wouldn't quit my job as a million dollars doesn't go that far anymore.0

Plan a huge party with free drinks. Everyone here is invited:)0

Since we have no debt (not even a mortgage; we paid that sucker off last June), I would totally quit my job. Just stick it to them. No two weeks. They'd eventually manage, but since I have no back up, they'd be drowning for a little while. Then hubby could quit his. We live so far under our means right now that $1 million would totally allow us to retire.0

I would save it till I retired, then move to the Dominican Republic and do what I could to make life better for la hija de mi corazón.0

Call my significant other and tell him to move here NOW, that we can cover it while he finds the job of his liking.

Down payment on house
Put the rest away for kids college(should be substancial amount)0 -
Pay off all of my debts, pay off my son's student loans and give him a down payment for a house, put my husband through college and do some traveling.0

Call me when you win. I'll help you spend it. ha ha ha ha!0 -
Answer the phone at work with responses I always wished I could say to the stupid people on the other end. Then once I finally quit or got fired, go back to school full time, while buying a house on the river.0
