Hi
Just wanting some advice with weight loss. Its not some a lot!
I am morbidly obese.
I need to lose 100kgs and weigh in over 180kgs, yes I know its my fault and its so embarrassing and hate myself for it.
I am female almost 40.
High BP and Thyroid. Previously had cancer.
I have only recently started for like the 3rd time in a year, I suffer with depression and mental health and have had cancer and I suffer chronic pain and nerve pain and can’t walk far at all.
Need some advice for workout and how to lose weight quickly, I am not coping anymore and enough is enough.
I have my fitness pal installed and logging foods.
I will be seeking advice from GP and Dietician.
How can I lose weight quickly enough and pain free as possible?
as I am chronic pain daily and so I am so much pain I just give up.
And eat and eat and eat because I think why bother? Not the mention I can’t afford the things I need to do this as I am low income. And have four children who depend on me.
I can’t move around much, and I want to enjoy my children and be able to get around and go out again.
I would get WL surery if I could but can’t afford it and tried to get on the public list and was refused and told to go walking. But this is when I just gave up.
I have emailed gyms to see what can be done to help me.
Anyone know any good gyms in Upper Coomera or advice to give?
What are some good snack foods? How many calories a day should I be intaking?
No Hate Please I already hate me enough.

Enter all your info in myfitnesspal and it will give you your calories for the day, which will be a great starting point! For exercise do what you can. Can u take some tylenol before walking to lessen pain? I would start by walking the block. If u can , do it a couple times a day. If you want to try the gym, the eliptical is low impact. If you have instagram, i highly recommend you give @ fatgirlfedup a look. Read about others who have lost large amounts of weight, they are inspiring and will have great tips! I wish u all the best1

Hi, I started my weight loss journey at a similar weight, just a bit less at approx 174kg.
I would suggest not worrying about the exercise at the moment, concentrate on your diet. I stuck to the UK Slimming World plan which is pretty much eating as much fresh stuff as possible and nothing premade from shops such as jars of sauces etc. I also cut bread, milk and alcohol out of my diet from day 1.
Breakfast = 0% fat yoghurt + fruit
Lunch = couscous, pepper, sweetcorn, onion and some chilli. Alpen light bar. Low fat packet of crisps.
Dinner = Min of 50% of fresh veg, potatoes (usually wedges boiled for 5mins then baked for 30mins with mixed pepper added to them) and a piece of meat seasoned with a jar of seasoning such as schwartz roast chicken or something.
Dessert = 0% fat yoghurt + fruit and if still hungry an alpen light bar.
That kind of meal plan saw the weight drop off me very quickly at the beginning. Soon after that the back and knee pain I would be taking tramadol for just so I could walk was disappearing and I found myself with so much energy that I started to walk around the local lake and park with the kids etc. Eventually I started cycling, playing table tennis and the odd kick around at football etc. If I had tried these from Day 1 I think I would have quickly given up though as my body was not ready for that.6 -

Good suggestions in general. However, I would not blindly suggest taking Tylenol before exercise. Given the OP's medial history and current condition there is a decent chance she is on some sort of medication that might not mix well with Tylenol.
Check with the doctor first.

OP, you have been through a lot in your history, now is the time to work on your future.
To make changes you need a powerful why. I read a lot of information from Dan John a well know and respected strength and conditioning coach who is in his early 60's. He talks about people needing a strong "why" to make a change or continue on a path. His why is wanting to be able to dance with his 2 year old granddaughter at her wedding. So if you do the math, he's saying he wants to be dancing in his late 80's, into his 90's.
You mentioned your children several times, they depend on you and you want to be able to play with them. That is your why which is very powerful. To take care of them, you have to take care of yourself first. If you have ever flown, the flight attendant always instructs the passengers to put on their own oxygen mask in the event of an emergency before helping others. You taking control of your heath is putting on the oxygen mask,
Glad you have access to a doctor and a dietitian. Since you are using kilograms I assume you are not in the US. In my area most medical practices have some association with a social worker (ask your doctor) who can help regarding referrals to services for people with low income. I know the YMCA and YWCA offer free or reduced fee memberships for those in need and offer childcare if needed at some locations.
Losing the weight and getting your heath back will not be an overnight thing, after all you didn't get to this point overnight. The journey will be well worth it at the end.
Best of luck.3 -

You mentioned "quickly" several times. Unless your doctor said you need to lose weight quickly in order to save your life (in which case you should be working closely with them) I recommend "quickly" not be your focus. Many people fail because they lose weight quickly, and then regain it just as quickly, plus more. Instead you may wish make baby steps that are sustainable for the long term. Think of this as a marathon, not a sprint.
It sounds like you are self-medicating with food. I've certainly done that in the past. Are you receiving help for your mental health issues?
Weight loss doesn't need to be expensive. You don't need to spend a lot of money on expensive, exotic "diet" foods to lose weight. All you need is a calorie deficit.
Are you able to cook for yourself? Cooking from scratch is way cheaper than prepared foods.
If you change your Diary Sharing settings to Public: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/account/diary_settings we can help suggest foods that are more filling and/or less expensive, and also check for common logging errors.8 -
In will try to come back to this post later, but @NovusDies has a group running for people who have a lot of weight available to lose.5

100kg is a fair amount to lose. I have lost that much and more.
You should probably come to my group. It is called Larger Losers because it is for people who have 75 or more pounds to lose or at they started with that much. It is also for people who are ready to change their life through a sensible and sustainable approach.
I can help you with calories and I can hopefully help you with developing a sustainable strategy.

If you are not interested in joining that is fine my advice on any gym visiting is pretty much pool only. You have to be careful because the extra weight is not good for your joints and you do not want to damage them, get a lot of weight off, and then have something else holding you back. Right now eating the correct number of calories and moving as much as you can around your house is enough if you can't afford a gym.
You do not need a lot of money or a special diet to lose weight either. You also do not need to be perfect. You need only to be good enough.10 -
You don't need to exercise straight away. Sort out your calories first and make small changes as you go. Don't worry about adding in extra exercise until you have the food/calorie allotment working. You will lose weight through calorie counting alone, and the exercise can come later.
And be patient. Take it slowly, making small adjustments to your habits. It's going to take time..... it's not a quick fix we're all looking for, but it's a permanent one!0 -
I've dropped from 160kg down to 108kg.
There's a lot to unpack in your post so I'll go over a few bullet points that I wish I had known earlier.
- Forget workouts, at least for now. Exercise only has a very minimal impact on weight loss and can at times be counter productive. At the weight you are and the weight I was you'll likely find trying to 'workout' utterly demoralising. I lost a significant amount of my weight with absolutely zero working out. Focus on creating a calorie deficit by working on your food intake first. Then once that's under control you can start to try and increase your calories burned by being generally more active. By this I mean start by just moving more during your day rather than dedicated workouts.
- You keep saying 'quick'. Forget quick right now. The value of a weight loss approach isn't measured in how quick it is but how long you can do it. Losing 2kg, 3kg or 4kg a week on a plan that you can only stick to for a month is a complete waste of time when compared to an approach that you can do easily and forever that sees you lose 1kg a week. 12 months from now the quick plan will have you exactly where you are now, the sustainable 1kg plan will see you 50+ kg lighter. Where do you want to be a year from now?
- At that weight the one and only priority should be to get the weight down. This can only happen if you're in a sustainable calorie deficit so make that your one and only rule. Do what you need to do to achieve an appropriate calorie deficit. Get your calorie target from MFP by putting in your details and most of the time stick to that target the best way you can. Forget about 'healthy' and 'junk', forget about 'good' and 'bad'. For now food is food so eat whatever you like as long as it's helping you stick to your target. For now it doesn't matter what you eat if it helps you stick to your calorie goal.
