Thank you @GrandmaJackie I’m so ready for round 2 (101)
12/27 - 186.0 - Joined MFP - heaviest weight ever!
01/07 - 178.4 - End Round 100 (-7.6 lbs) (included initial 2 days on MFP - 12 days total)
Round 101 - Starting Weight 178.4
01/08 - 178.7
01/09 - 178.7
01/10 - 177.9
01/11 - 177.7 IF 19 hrs. I finally had 64oz water and lots of vegies. I'm trying to work on both of these. I've been making lots of casseroles with chicken or ground beef I get from the local farmer and I throw tons of vegies into it, add an ounce of cheese and use chicken broth. I add a few potatoes to smash up to thicken it, then bake it. It's really good and lasts for days.

Goal for end of Round 101 - 174.0
Only tracking short-term 10 day goal - looking too far ahead doesn't work for me. Celebrating every healthy change along the way!
Round 10101/08 - 178.7 I'm very happy the small increase still kept me solidly in the 170's and didn't bounce back to 180's! Increased my calories yesterday intentionally to 1437. Rowed 30 mins. Did some reps with free weights. Not enough water. Excited for a day of healthy eating and lots of water!
01/09 - 178.7 My body has decided it wants to continue to have its own little private party with this weight for a while longer. I wanted to say how inspiring y'all are. I was looking at some of your posts this morning and the amount of weight you have lost and how positive you have been throughout the ups and downs, really amazing! I'm so glad I found this group.
01/10 - 177.9 Yay! I hope that's it for 178 - we shall see. IF 18 hrs, 1143 calories and rowed 30 mins. Yesterday was 14 days of sticking to it, which for me is amazing. I'm usually off it by the 5th day. I've had no sugar or processed food for these 14 days which has helped my cravings tremendously. One other thing I stopped quite a while ago that helped with cravings was diet coke. That had to be one of the best things I've done for my health. It took me having surgery to scare me off the stuff.

■1/11 - 186 - IF/22.5hrs. 21g carbs. Really good workout on Thursday and felt great afterwards. BUT! (why must there be a but😞) some part of my exercise, together with my subpar mattress, smh, caused a sciatica flare up from piriformis that dominoed into low back pain, tight IT Band and inflamed hip flexor. Did not sleep comfortably, miserable all day yesterday and definitely no workout. I had planned a nice glute strength routine with lateral cardio exercises. Postponed to Saturday evening.
Wore my trochanter belt all day for back & hip flexor. The pressure from it had me in pain all day, worse without it. Just bought a new groin and hip brace yesterday. It should be delivered today. I hope it helps me.

01/08 128.4 What?!
01/09 DNW
01/10 126.6 Hmmm, better. I haven't been super disciplined with sugar lately (ridiculously, my snack and dessert has been Lucky Charms!), but I'm still logging my food, so calories are in check. On cold mornings, does anyone else find it tougher to strip out of warm pajamas and get on the scale? That's my pathetic excuse for not weighing in sometimes- I'm cold!
01/11 129.9 Yesterday, I had 1246 calories, 52 grams of protein, and 43 grams of fat. I did not gain 3.3 lbs overnight. So glad blips in the scale don't freak me out like they used to, thanks to this group! Imagine, you weigh in one day a week and you're up 3+ lbs, you might think you've failed your weight loss goals for that week, when the day before/after would tell a different story. Weighing in every day is so much better!

Previous Day's Comments01/08 - And this is what not eating (or drinking) due to nerves looks like. False low! I had a few cashews to break my fast before lunch (in meeting and started getting nauseous) and ended up not having lunch at all because I got distracted/busy and found out I had a job interview coming up later in the evening. I also found out the company wanting to interview me (as the job posting was through a recruiter and company was not revealed until interview) so I had to try to focus on work knowing I had limited time to research the company once I was home. I got asked if I could fly down to Austin for an in-person interview immediately, though! So after that I did my Yoga with Adriene HOME practice (I've heard about the ab day 6 and figured it best to wait to eat until after) and finally was hungry enough to eat. Today should be better and I expect a jump up tomorrow/remainder of the round since I've managed to only eat dinner these last two days (which is great if I were fasting, but I had cashews as a snack so not in a fully fasted state and I did not eat my allotted calories during dinner to make up for it). Side note: I'M EXHAUSTED. For some reason I've been struggling to sleep and when I finally do manage to fall into deep sleep, its right around when my alarm goes off. Its now day 4 of this... Instant migraine this morning, shouldn't have complained about the headache yesterday morning. Its my Friday so I can sleep a little more tomorrow morning and hopefully feel refreshed and ready to go! Just needed to rant a little on that, I'm good. Probably caffeine withdrawals since I didn't have a drop of the stuff yesterday. Got me some ibuprofen and a small cup of black coffee and it seems to be helping quite a bit.
01/09 - Much better!! I ate appropriately calorie-wise yesterday (had more than one meal finally) and didn't hit my water goal, but doubled what I was drinking before so I'll take it! This is a much more accurate number than the last couple days. I'm happy it is still lower, but 151.x made me a little uneasy. Even 152.x didn't make me feel like I should've while knowing why I was so low (not treating my body well, even if not intentional). Off work tomorrow but taking car in to get serviced so not quite sure what will be on the menu (depends on how long service takes, I suppose - appointment is at 10 and its 30 minutes from home so it'll be time for me to break my fast pretty soon after). I need to save money for my impromptu trip to Texas over MLK day though. I did not budget for any of that so I'll likely just take a snack in case its a long appt and eat at home after to save..
01/10 - Guess I'm going to bounce here. It is a much more comfortable 152.x than before (when I was practically starving myself. Its an ice storm outside, really nasty today. Got the oil changed and suspension inspected then booked it home before it got worse. Turns out my car has to be fixed and I'm going to Texas a little early. Oh boy. There's a job fair for RecruitMilitary on Friday so I'm driving down Thursday instead of Saturday. I might as well go to the job fair while I'm already driving down there for the interview, right? I'm staying with BF so its not like it'll cost me any extra for a hotel or anything. While I'm gone, my car is in desperate need (like not really safe to drive kinda need) of struts and front brakes. So it will be dropped off and more money on the credit card since I still don't know what I'm going to be paid for the rest of this month and my bills come out of my checking on autopay. No overdraft for me! It'll get worked out soon, though, as I'm budgeting like crazy where I can and hopefully have it paid off come the end of February. Then its back to the loan and the other 2 credit cards that don't look so pretty... I'm a mess but I'm doing Dave Ramsey's baby steps to get back on track like I was about a year and a half ago before I retired. At least this card earns airline miles for my pending 2021 vacation and it'll be THAT much less I need to save for vacation once debt is paid off.

NEVER GIVE UP! You can surprise yourself! I have.
What we need to succeed is a sustainable way of eating, not a DIET we go on and off.
This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE.

01/09 121.0 Went to the gym yesterday for the first time in a long time (November??) My leg hurts - so mad I forgot to ask the doctor about sciatica-the assistant had made a note but then he and I got into a blood pressure med discussion and I forgot and he didn’t see her note, I guess.

Round 101 (1)
Day/Weight/Comment:
01/08- 186.6: Trying to get my eating in check. Been better with the sweets. Had a burger and fries for supper but did not snack after that.
01/09- 186.4. Better day yesterday which was really hard with work stress. Resisted the urge to have candy and ate a pepperoni stick instead. No LNS.
01/10- 185.6: Not as good eating day as I had hoped. I Went in to the dollar store to get new batteries for my scale. I was so close to buying candy but resisted. What’s with the Easter candy out already!! Weekends are hard for me- must resist the urge to just sit eating junk.
01/11- no weigh in. Stressful day at work plus pms=poor food choices13 -

Imagine, you weigh in one day a week and you're up 3+ lbs, you might think you've failed your weight loss goals for that week, when the day before/after would tell a different story. Weighing in every day is so much better!
@Hilogirl2018 I love this - it's a great way to look at the positive reason weighing each day is much better. Never thought about the downside you pointed out of weighing weekly. Since I'm weighing daily, I try to now not let a little increase bother me since it's perfectly normal to go up and down even if you are doing everything right. As you said, thanks to this group, it's easier to keep everything in perspective.8 -

Back for Round 101
Female / Age 62 / 5'2"
OW: 158.5 (12/30/18)
UG: 135.0 (for now, healthy weight for me)
Thanks @GrandmaJackie for getting us started! 16 pages! WOW! You guys are going gang busters. I will catch up!
've still been in and out. Things have been nuts on both the work and home fronts. I've been mindful of my eating, but have not really been on program. Remainder of this round is not looking any better with a work trip this week, so mindfulness and maintenance will be the goal.
Intro:Let me introduce myself. I struggled with my weight as a teen, topping out at nearly 200. I dropped it after high school and got to a healthy weight. Every major life changed has brought weight back on - having kids, pre-menopause, menopause, family tragedy, post menopause. I've knocked it back down each time, and have been surprised that each time required a different strategy, and resulted in a different type of lifestyle change to maintain. Each time as been much harder and slower. At this point, it's moving off at a snail's pace.
Motivation. I have a hyatial hernia. It does not bother me as long as I keep the weight at 150 or below. Every female on my mother's side has had arthritic knees, and I'm starting to feel twinges. They have also sustained falls and broken bones. My husband had a major health scare a coupe of years ago. The idea of being put out of commission by a preventable injury or illness scares the bejimminies out of me.
Goals. The goals at this stage are to drop weight to a healthy range, realign my eating style to a lifestyle that will keep me healthy into my golden years, and strengthen the muscles that support my knees, ankles, and shoulders, along with my core, to prevent injury.
Dropping weight post menopausal has been so difficult, I need this to be the last time. 10-15 pounds used to be easy to drop, so that was always my warning bell to focus. Not so much now. Looks like a 3-5 pound fluctuation will be it.
A healthy weight for me is 135-140. I've always looked anorexic at 120. We'll see how things are at 135, and go from there.

Strategy: Up the hydrating foods. Fruit with breakfast. Salad/veggies as bulk of lunch. Healthy dinner. Limit/eliminate processed carbs and sugars. Zero calorie intake after 8pm. Strength exercises 3 days on/1 day rest. Regular movement through day to compensate for desk job.
R99 Challenges: My challenges this round will be finding and getting back to a routine. Life has been quite unfair as we moved into the holidays. My son lost his mother in-law in childbirth on Christmas Eve. She was just 48, and left behind three granddaughters who are devastated and the baby was transferred to NICU 3 hours away. My daughter in-law has been with the baby (who is stable now), and we have been trying to help my son with the girls. Then my mother in-law was admitted on Thursday with complications from pneumonia and passed away on Sunday. That things have been stressful and chaotic, is an understatement.
I am proud of myself for being mindful of my emotional and physical self. It will take a concerted effort to stay the course as our family navigates the changes. I spent some quiet time this morning doing my meal planning. I've also looked at my Round Stats, and see that I stayed stable over the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays - that's huge!

Day/Weight/Comment:
1/08: 132.0 - can't complain when it doesn't go up. Weight lifting yesterday and this morning plus 25 minutes treadmill/elliptical. An hour in the gym this morning and my apple watch says I burned 300 calories. Hard to stay under calories when I can eat that back in a nanosecond. But still feeling on top of this for now. Stopped at grocery store and bought lots of veggies for roasted veggies and garbanzo beans tonight. Have a fantastic healthy day, everyone!
1/09: 130.4 - Wow, that's pretty cool. I've changed my diet to maximize protein, which is really hard for me as a vegetarian. The last 2 nights, even though I wasn't hungry, I added an 80 calorie/15 gram protein plain greek yogurt at the end of the day (on top of adding as much protein as possible during the day) and maybe that has made a difference. And I started lifting heavily on Monday, lifted the last 3 days. Taking today off from lifting because my arm is sore and I'm trying to listen to my body. But might add some sort of activity.
1/10: 131.0 - no work out yesterday, was hard to stay within calories without those "extras" but I did it. Today, great workout (back and biceps) and 20 minutes elliptical. Taking a road trip tonight to look at some cheap cars and dinner will be on the road, must make good choices.
1/11: 130.0 - just hit my goal weight! Took a solid year to get here and it feels pretty amazing. Now to keep it here! I think 2 things really jump started the weight loss over the last month - eating more protein and lifting weights. Well, that and eating consistently at a deficit. Who knew ;-).

56 year old, female, 5' 7"ft
Heaviest W: 160
Current W:. 148.9
Challenge GW: Lose 2 lbs as I get back into the swing of things after a long vacay.
Day/Weight/Comment:
1/08: 148.9 - first weigh in since 12/21. Better than I expected after eating and drinking whatever I wanted for 2 weeks. It was worth it but need to batten down the hatches for 2020. Did a circuit training class and went for a run and it felt good. I will be sore
1/09: 148.8 - Had my Body Fat % measured at the gym via a DXA scan. I now have some data to work with to get stronger and lose the fat. And I need to eat more protein.
1/10: 148.8 ( same ) Never understand how my scale measures the same weight. Don't know if I trust it tbh. Had a good run. But still enjoying the wine at night. That has to stop - empty calories
1/11: 149.8 (+1 lb ) Weighed after my protein drink and coffee so who knows. Heading to the gym for some weights and cardio.

10 Day Challenge 101
2020 Starting Weight: 209.5
Current Weight: 207.8
Current Goal: 198
UGW: 148
10-day Goal: 205 (hoping there’s still some water weight to shed)
Focus for next 10 days is tracking, tracking, tracking. Plus daily exercise and daily journaling (which is when/where I do my planning for the next day).
Date/Weight/Comment
1/8: 208.4 — surprised as I’ve been tracking well, in decent calorie deficit for a week with no big sodium intake or anything. But the point of a 10 day challenge is to track and find patterns to adjust, right? So I’ll keep tracking to find the pattern...
1/9: 207.6 — there it is! Kept to my plan, and now seeing what I expect.
1/10: 208.0 — and there it goes (again)! In deficit (a lot), good workout, no major sodium, but ate dinner very late and woke feeling bloated. New scale, too, maybe this is just reflective of its precision. Will keep to plan and cross fingers a big drop will come before the end!
1/11: 207.2 —ok, whew! Up 0.4/0.6, down 0.8, I can live with that on a daily basis. I’m going to keep keeping on, no adjustments yet. Keep tracking my pattern

Just realized 10 days in a row tracking will be interrupted by a trip next week (so no results for 14, 15, 16) and the next challenges also by a trip (will be away from scale 18, 19, 20). Looking forward to the challenge after that for actually getting 10 days in a row with this scale!11 -

UGW Range: 135-145
Eat at/under calorie goal each day (I’m full time breast-feeding, so that’s still a lot of calories!). Be especially watchful of evening eating. Hydrate. Move. Lose any amount.

Goal(s) for this round: Let's be honest. I'm just shooting for less than my SW this round (so under 219). I need some momentum and a realistic goal.
Day/Weight/Comment
1/8: 220.2 (+0.8)/18.5 (+0.1). Alright. I've had enough. Once I get below 215.0 (which I will, eventually), that will be the number that makes me refocus, no matter what. That's what 220.0 is for me right now. Time to get my $#!+ together. I'll be in the gym tonight. I'm going to make today a good day.
1/9: 219.2 (-1.0)/18.4 (-0.1). I hit the gym last night, and it felt much better than last time. My neck and shoulder are actually hurting less AFTER going, which for some reason is how my body tends to work. I've been dragging my feet on this, but I think I'm almost ready to give keto a go again. I've had a lot of success on it in the past, and I've been hovering between 215 and 220 for months now.
1/10: 219.0 (-0.2)/18.4 (0.0). I went a little wild with dinner last night after I found a really good local poke/ramen place. I'm finding myself REALLY sore today after the gym a couple of days ago. It's amazing how just taking even a week or two off can affect my experience there. I'm back on track with my schedule at the gym, however; I'll be lifting weights tonight after work. I really hope basketball starts back up again soon. I miss it, even though I know the first 2-3 times I play will be terrible. Getting older SUCKS!
1/11: 218.0 (-1.0)/18.3 (-0.1). I tried not to eat yesterday unless I was hungry. I didn't make it to the gym yesterday, but I'm going this morning with my wife. I'm going wine tasting and having dinner with my parents and wife today. I'll do my best to keep it "under control," but this would likely be one of those "cheat days." I'm going to focus on portion size.

Yesterday went pretty well. It feels good to be back on track
01/10- 264.8
So I did really good. Im back writing in my goal journal as well. Started keeping videos to keep me accountable.
01/11-263.8
Im so proud of myself. I had a horrible day yesterday and instead of giving into food cravings as a coping mechanism, I stayed true to my journey. This thread has been keeping me accountable.

Day/Weight/Comment
01/08. 177.4
I've weighed in at what's typically my heaviest time of day. While the number distresses me, this change will provide a built in cushion of a few pounds when I'm back at my normal weight.
01/09. 177.2
No weight loss goal for the round. My focus is to avoid eating out and having processed foods at home. When I stick with this and get my exercise in the scale will eventually cooperate. As usual it will happen painfully slow but fat loss will happen.
01/10. 176.4
I ate until it hurt yesterday but my calories and macros landed where they should. Unprepared and living without a plan never works for me. Today I'll be ready.
01/11. 175.6
I did well yesterday with the exception of a very late dinner. This is no big deal since I'm following a 16/8 Intermittent fasting program for three days filled by one non fasting day. Dinner crossed into my non fasting day leaving my program in tact.

Round 101 - Jan.8 to Jan.18
Female, 5’, 66 years. SW – 166.4, GW – 165 something, UGW – 140. (This really should be 125 or 130 but that seems like such a long ways to go and 140 would be a huge improvement.)
After reading over the comments on the last round, and also noting that my invisible GERD which had not bothered me for a long time is back, I’m going to try to stick faithfully to “no food after supper” for this round. I don’t know if that qualifies as IF (12-13 hours) but that is what gave me the idea. I think that the anti-viral meds were not kind to my stomach and also the extra few lbs all seem to be right on the middle which gives my stomach less space so giving my stomach a break seems like a good way to go.
01/08 – 166.2 – No food after 7:30 p.m. last night and definitely feel better this a.m. though woke up a little cold. Off to the gym for a short session.
01/09 – 165.6 – Managed IF again last night, even with spending a lot of time on the computer. Gym was good though shorter (kept it to 1 hr. including stretches). Also used a much lower resistance to be kind to the body.
01/10 - 166
01/11 – 166 – Late start yesterday and had to get to the gym in the morning if I was to go so did weigh but didn’t post. Did make it to the gym and also first coat on 4 doors. Couldn’t sleep because arm was hurting and finally took a painkiller – not my right though, or I would blame the painting, maybe something at the gym. So, was hoping to paint a second coat today … trying to decide if possible sore arm is worth the risk for the joy of having one more thing painted and off the list. That moving date is always at the back of my mind and I feel so much better if I know I’m keeping things moving forward.
