01/28- 188.6 up and down up and down. my trend has leveled out. maybe tomorrow will be the day it points down. Feeling cross probably due to hormones so I decided to skip my yoga class and now I feel cross about that. Aiming for 1500 cals today.

01/29 - 188.8 wound up going WAY over my calories yesterday. I have a plan for today though.. I just need to stick to it and not lose motivation.

01/30 - 189. 4 what the heck. drinking extra water today.

02/05 188.0 Finally the scale budges! This 10 day round has been very frustrating for me, I am still thinking it's because of this medication. Although I don't think I'll make my goal this round a continued downward trend would make me happy.

02/06 188.8 On the bright side the BF% on my scale was crazy low, which means i am holding a lot of water. Fingers crossed that we can get with the program.. at some point my body has to let it go, right?

01/28: 282.2 lbs (+1.0) … 6,870 steps. Great start to the round! Oh well, upticks happen… all the time. I’m determined to hit 279 this round.

01/29: 280.5 lbs (-1.7) … 13,107 steps. Right back down close to my previous low. I’m a little surprised as I ate a bit more than usual yesterday. Pushing my activity level a bit more this week -- messed around with Ring Fit Adventure on Switch this morning and am thinking about going on an hour walk at lunch if it’s not too cold out. I’m near the end of my audiobook and that’d be some good listening time.

01/30: 281.0 lbs (+0.5) … 10,773 steps. Another small uptick, but I’m trending in the right direction. Got 13,000 steps yesterday, which is the first time I’ve been over 10k in quite a while. I’ve been slacking. Hoping to take another walk at lunch today if it’s not too cold out -- it’s chillier this morning than it was yesterday.

01/31: 280.7 lbs (-0.3) … 12,350 steps. Holding pretty steady around here, just tiny fluctuations. I’ve been increasing my physical activity this week though -- short morning workouts at home and 2.5 mile walks at lunch for the last few days -- so hopefully I’ll see some results from that soon.

02/01: 281.3 lbs (+0.6) … I was pretty hungry yesterday, so I’m surprised that this uptick isn’t bigger. Pretty happy with it as it is, given how much I ate. Today should be a lighter day food-wise.

02/03: 281.7 lbs (+0.4) … Not a great weekend, some poor food choices and I was pretty lazy. Need to get back into gear now.

02/04: 281.6 lbs (-0.1) … Ate a bit lighter yesterday and planning to do better today. Also I should be able to get in my lunch walk today, which should help. I had a meeting over the lunch hour yesterday.

02/05: 279.9 lbs (-1.7) … There we go! A nice little whoosh this morning and a new low weight. Finally made it to sub-280.

02/06: 276.8 lbs (-3.1) … I am overjoyed today. An unexpected whoosh on the scale, plus I’ve lost a good inch or so around my waist during the past week or two. This puts me right around 110 pounds lost, which matches the amount of weight I lost 10 years ago. (Weight I regained and then some).

As of this morning I can fit into the next size of jeans down (44, originally 58) as well as a new shirt size (XL, originally 4XL). I went to order the next size down of my jeans (I always get the same kind so I have a consistent marker for progress) and I can’t… because 44 is the smallest Big & Tall size they offer! There’s a huge grin on my face today.

01/29 …..191.8 ….. I did try to offset by walking 58 minutes at about 3.0 mph in my house last night burning 325 extra calories. Overall fitbit stats: Calories in unsure / Calories Out 2406. 14,315 Total Steps & 6.06 Total Miles. 11/13 fitbit step hours. I slept 4 hours & 27 minutes and am tired and groggy.

01/30 …..191.8 ….. Fitbit stats: Calories In unsure/Calories Out 2409. 14,465 Total Steps & 6.12 miles. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 5 hours & 29 minutes but it was a toss & turn horrible night. Tired today. I walked for 79 minutes with DGS #2 (age 11) at the school while DGS #1 was in tutoring and hopefully getting back on track (ADHD).

I slept 6 hours & 6 minutes and woke up tired, needing more. I walked alone at the school in a power walk mentality at about 3.75 mph average for 123 minutes burning 742 extra calories.

02/02 …..192.0 ….. Best correct logging guestimation was 1933 Calories In / 2446 Calories Out. 124 Total Carbs. 10,268 Total Steps & 4.34 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit step hours. I slept 6 hours & 12 minutes. That is almost a (good) record for me. I woke up feeling great! My only planned exercise yesterday was a slow 2.5 mph walk at home for 21 minutes that burned 91 calories.

02/03 …..192.6 ….. 1802 Calories In / 2568 Calories Out. 77 Carbs. 12,188 Total Steps & 5.16 Total Miles. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 4 hours & 54 minutes and woke up incredibly tired but forced to get up. I prepped Superbowl food for 40 minutes burning 122 calories. I did light to moderate cleaning in the tourist cabins for 70 minutes burning 248 calories. Total extra burn 370.

02/04 …..192.3 ….. Flu (or pancreatitis or gall bladder attack?) hit bad yesterday afternoon. I was sick all night. Stayed in bed and in pain. That explains the drop on the scale. I really should have went to an emergency room but I live so far from one. If that gripping pain happens again, I will go in next time. No movement yesterday, all bed. I’m going to take it easy today too and not push it. I am feeling very hungry right now but afraid to eat. And my back is hurting from lying so long in bed yesterday. I am not used to that. Most nights I don’t even hit 5 hours so laying down that long is painful. I hope the day gets better.

02/05 …..192.6 ….. Up a little from probable water retention. I finally ate a little last night. I kept it very low fat to give my gall bladder and pancreas a rest, but it did have sodium. I am working very hard today (in my jammies) to keep it healthy but light. Thanks to all the well wishers. I love you all! For the past 2 days I have burned about 1900 calories for the day and kept the calories pretty low. No exercise. Today I am going to work on drinking lots of water (a little fearful of ANYTHING heavy in the tummy) and green tea (antioxidant). I hope to be back up and running (walking, actually) tomorrow. I am very sad that this whole round has went bad for one reason or another. I recommit every single day and then look in the mirror and find that I am still only human. I must become a stronger one with more will. After I feel better, I will pick up my bat and start swinging again. My arms may get tired, but I NEVER EVER stop wanting to win the game! Have a great hump day everyone!

02/06 …..192.1 ….. Better on the scale. Tummy doing somewhat better. I will know more when I eat today. For the next round I am going to try something different. Starting now for the next 10 days, I am going to try something new in the hopes of helping my gall bladder, my glucose numbers, yet still my weight. I will focus more on my calories and (a little) less on my carbs. I am hoping to rest my gall bladder from excess fat, raise my glucose numbers a bit but still see something positive on the scale. We’ll see how this experiment goes. With the lows that I keep hitting in my glucose (instead of high) I actually have to increase the carbs to be okay. So I am going to focus on calories but still make many good carb choices along the way. Example: No real rice, just cauliflower rice. Healthy low starch veggies (like zucchini and spinach) will remain in my recipes. Lower carb versions of things like sandwich wraps (carb smart). Spaghetti made with spaghetti squash, not noodles. But the main focus will be on lower calorie. Many of my recipes I use for low-carb food prep are already low in calories too, so I will continue with all my favorite keto and low carb foods for the most part. I am going to watch the fat because of my recent stomach attack (gall bladder?). No restrictions on what I can eat, just how much, while making some good choices that are somewhat more carb friendly (I don’t need my glucose going back sky high). I don’t know how this will work, but I’ll give it the next 10 days and find out. I will carefully monitor how I feel, what the scale is saying to me and what my glucose numbers are reading. I’m a bit fearful of this experiment on many, many levels but I won’t know until I try if it will help me in regards to T2D. I am also hoping that travel and restaurants won't hurt my bottom line so bad.

01/28 138.5 -- A bit irritated. Yesterday was a good day, so no idea where this came from. Frequently, I guess I have a drop, bounce up and then go down to stay....but this still annoyed me!

01/31 137.5 -- I was really hoping the holiday weight gain would just come right back off. Sadly, it seems it wants to be a bit more stubborn than that. On the other hand, I'm only 5 pounds up since the start of chemotherapy, and the mastectomy before that. And my clothes still fit, and I'm feeling pretty healthy. And those 5 pounds mean I don't have to worry about maintenance for some time still. So I'm settling back into the it's a journey, not a destination. Glad to be on this journey with all of you!
02/01 138.5 -- Clearly I offended the scale and it is taking it out on me. It is refusing to reflect my virtue this week.
02/02 140 -- 6 mile fast hilly walk yesterday. It was a definitely a higher carb, higher calorie day, (I was a bit frustrated, plus my son made delicious chocolate chip walnut scones!)
but still within calories. I'm just trying to stick with the program. Presumably results will start happening again at some point.

02/06 140.5 I'm getting a bit frustrated. My net calories have been consistently below my target for 20 days, and yet my weight is the same as the one time high I saw 20 days ago. All through the holidays when I was weighing and not tracking I never got abobe 137.5. I'm retaining a bit of water, but I'm not sure at all what is going on. Sticking with it and yada yada yada. But I'm not happy!

I'm trying a new thing - only weighing in once a week or less and focusing instead on staying under my calorie goals, being active and eating enough protein. Will see how this affects my mood and performance.

01/28: Nailed my protein goal yesterday (95 grams), ate below calories and had a short but excellent upper body workout. Another really great workout this morning - a new to me lower strength day that kicked my butt and I had time for 25 minutes of cardio on top of it. Followed with a high protein smoothie, great start to the day and challenge for me.

01/29: Another great protein day (over 100 grams), also ate below calories and added some ab work at the end of the day when I did my elbow p/t. Hard to not get on the scale, waiting for the obsession to ease up a bit. Today is a rest day - which I will spend cleaning the house .

01/30: 95 grams protein yesterday and well under my calorie goal. I was so crazy sore yesterday from both the Monday and tuesday workout but felt great in the gym this morning. Tried a Pickleball game, nope, elbow is not ready. But I’m going to find a poor unsuspecting soul who will do drills with me left handed.

01/31: day 4 of not weighing in, I don’t like it at all. Told myself I’d wait til Monday, really going to try to stick to that. Over 100 grams protein yesterday, under calorie goal, great workout. Great workout this morning followed by hitting the Pickleball against the practice wall with my left hand for a while. Will continue that after workouts for a few days. I’m really sore from this week in the gym, pushed myself a lot. Looking forward to recovering over the weekend.

02/01: busy day, had guests over all day and we grazed in the kitchen the whole time. I tried to make good choices but it was a big change from always being aware of what I'm eating and logging it right away. Back on track tomorrow. Had to add a protein smoothie at the end of the day to get to my protein goal.

02/02: Another rest day for me, my body is happy for it and I'm already looking forward to working out again tomorrow. Grocery shopping/meal planning day. Planning to go for a brisk walk later.

02/03: Really had to finagle at the end of the day to get my protein macro met. It's hard for me to wrap my head around eating more if I have to to get the protein in. If I'm not going to bed hungry, it feels like I'm overeating.

02/04: Weighed in: 128.6 lbs. I have lots of reasons why I decided to step on the scale this morning but the truth is that I was just too curious. Happily surprised with the results. I also moved my body fat testing day to tomorrow because the machine I use (the Inbody230) states that you shouldn't work out for 10-12 hours before using it and tomorrow is my rest day so it works better than doing it Thursday. Great leg workout this morning followed by some pickleball drills and 2 pickleball games, played primarily with my non-dominant hand. It's a work in progress . Feels so very good to be on the courts again!

02/05: Body fat testing day: Weight at the body fat testing place was 128.5 lbs. My body fat percentage went down 2.5% in 4 weeks and my weight went down 5 lbs. According to the test, those 5 pounds were almost completely from fat and I gained about .5 lbs of muscle. So very cool to see that I'm on the right track. Took pictures and measurements this morning to compare to last month and I didn't see much of a difference but I never really do see the changes in the mirror. Will keep on keeping on.

02/06: 128.5 lbs. Great upper body workout this morning and played a lot of pickleball afterwards. My elbow is really upset with me though and I've decided to go back to the doctor about it. Of course, he doesn't have any openings for 5 weeks though . Guess that gives me time to really commit to another 5 weeks of physical therapy in the meantime so I can honestly say I gave it a full 10 weeks. The good news is that I'm down 1.5 pounds for the round!

Ate protein, no cheese. No soda. Water only. Had popcorn. If I had skipped big breakfast, I probably would have lost the whole .4 pounds and some. I had sherbet for dessert after dinner Saturday and skipped the fattening dinner dessert. As normal water lower on weekends too. So, I have 3 days to get down to the next decade. No pressure! Lol….. 02/04 393.8 (0.0) – I was under calories. I did have a lot of sodium. It happens. Maybe I gained more than I thought on Sunday. Anyways, we will see tomorrow. I got in my steps yesterday and I did a nice walk too. Going good today also. I am just going to stay the course and it will come off eventually.
02/05 393.6 (-0.2) – I was over my calories. I was way over my goal steps which probably helped me not to have a gain. Well I will be very lucky to get a maintain at this point for this round. I had a very good session with my therapist last night. We talked about the importance of sleep. So, before I see her next week, I am going to be in bed by midnight 3 nights. I was in there last night so 1 down 2 to go! She was pleased with my progress even though I had not lost a lot of weight in 2 weeks.

02/06 393.0 (-0.6) – I was over my calories yesterday and did not get in my steps. I did not get in the bed before midnight. Today is a new day. I turned down Bundt cakes. I was still down today. I just could not rebound from early gains. Next round I am still keeping my same goal weight of 388. See you wonderful people in round 104! :flowerforyou:
