02/27: 275.1 lbs (-0.3) … starting a round without a sizable uptick for once is a nice feeling. Gym day.

02/28: 274.9 lbs (-0.2) … I was fully expecting an uptick this morning. I was about 500 calories over budget and I ate quite a bit more food volume-wise than usual… but my trip to the gym yesterday seems to have countered that. That’s a good feeling. I’m going to try to recommit to going to the gym and running now. I’ve been slacking off for a while.

Funny enough, Kansas has decided to bless us with 57 today and 68 both Saturday and Sunday! Then Monday supposed to be 48. Mother Nature is being a little... all over the place haha Its very unusual for these high temps in February/early March

02/27: 127.6 lbs: Trudged through a workout this morning, I had some bad digestive issues last night and didn't eat dinner or sleep well and woke up with a headache. Did not hit protein macro yesterday since I skipped a meal. Hoping it was just a 24 hour thing and I'll be all better by the end of today. Thinking of changing up my workouts, it's been 12 weeks and progress has been steady but I'm ready for a change.

02/28: 126.8 lbs: Ate right at maintenance calories yesterday and got a nice 108 grams of protein. My stomach is mostly back to normal. No gym workout for me today but planning to get in at least an hour of pickleball. The sun is shining, I love when that happens! We have a fundraiser tonight and I got the bright idea to use an at home spray tan yesterday. Now one foot is really, really "tan". Maybe it won't be noticeable by this evening. Enjoy your day, everyone! Spaghetti, vegan "meatballs" and salad tonight for dinner.

02/28 …..195.8 ….. I had dinner at DD#2 last night and some glorious time with my DGS #4. She tries to keep it a bit more carb and calorie conscious for me which is very thoughtful. Not as on plan as at home but not too bad. I am unsure of exact calories & carbs, info too sketchy when I’m not sure of exact recipe, but overall didn’t seem too bad. I walked with my son at school during conferences since school was open. A little slower as he is not used to it, about 3.0 mph but I was proud of him. My total calorie burn for 110 minutes was 597. I walked 18,119 steps for the day, 7.67 Total Miles, burned 2839 Total Calories. 13/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 5 hours & 47 minutes and only woke up once! An average day overall.

2/28- 149.2 staying under 150 is a small victory! I started using happy scales yesterday so I could get a moving average going. I’m feeling good in general even if I’m clearly not willing to change what I’m eating dramatically enough to get bigger results. I’m happy at my calorie and macro numbers right now. I’m supporting a lot of physical activity with almost 50 hours of gym time logged for this month. I’m on this journey for the rest of my life so I need to stop trying to rush it.

02/27 - 365.8 - Small uptick. Found that if I use ACV before a high(er) carb meal will balance blood sugar levels and it seems to help w/ my weight. I've been doing a lot of research, especially those doctors and dieticians (not YouTube influencers) that have done real research.
02/28 - 365.8 - I think stress is really hurting my rest. Job hunting isn't going as well as I need and it's definitely taking it's toll.

02/27 - 141.5 -- Low calorie yesterday and lots of working out. My shoulder is really aching from radiation position induced impingement. I'm sure that is not helping my loss. Also added in strength workouts to the walking I've been doing.
02/28 - 143 -- Ate bread yesterday...but completely within calories with room to spare. I'm just glad I'm 2 years in and more resilient than when I started, because this just sucks!

I was 7 pounds closer before the holidays, but I am reminded that this is a journey that goes on, as opposed to one that ends at a destination! General goal is to maintain below 150, and trend slowly downward to 145.
Looking forward:

February: I need to focus on getting back to where I was pre-Christmas
2020: Goal is to stabilise weight around 145
Strengthen strategies to reframe the tendency to use unhealthy snack food as a reward/treat.
Make sure I have prepared healthy snacks available
Cut down on eating between meals

Back Story:

2018:
My goal was to get down below 160, to allow me to enjoy the indulgences of holidays and celebrations.
2019
I exceeded that and have been below 150 for most of the last 2 months.
In 2018, I put on 10 lbs over the last 2 months of the year.
In 2019, I consistently lost weight since the end of July. I put on about 4lbs over the Christmas break, but was still below my original 2019 goal.
That's a WIN in my book!

2020
I need this more than ever now that I am in maintenance! I might even manage to lose a bit more ever so slowly.

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.

Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

Stick with the process. It DOES work! But it does take time, effort, and most of all, patience!

02/25: 202.2; Monday info: 5642 steps, 7 of 12, 5h28m (76); Monday’s at work suck. That’s about all I can remember. I’m 4 days behind in logging so I am trying to do a lot of catch up. My mom had an abdominal CT scan and by the time I got home from work, our mutual PCP called her and made an urgent appt for the next day to discuss. She has a large mass in abdomen (5x6x5in). Unfortunately, without looking up any of the words in her CT results, I knew enough medically to know we might be dealing with cancer (necrosis, sarcoma, metastatic lesion). Then apparently my dad had had an ultrasound of his abdomen and he has an enlarged aorta. He has a cardiologist appt coming up on Monday. Ugh!

02/26: DNW; Tuesday info: 5240 steps, 7 of 12, 5h19m (77); Tuesday I was an absolute hot mess at work. I was crying at the drop of a hat. I am an only child and single to boot. I am not ready to deal with my parents having life-threatening medical issues. My mom is already the main caregiver for her almost 98 year old mother (who thankfully is back living on her own). I am going to be attending all of my mom’s doctors appts and we’ll have to find out if anyone can help with Grandma as my dad is in charge of getting my cousin’s 2 girls to/from school. (Can there be anything MORE going on?!?!?) Mom has a surgical oncologist consult on Wednesday of next week. I’m pretty sure I quit caring about the food going into my mouth as of this point. I was just done.

02/27: 203.1; Wednesday info: 5311 steps, 5 of 12, 5h49m (77); Wednesday was better at work. Made arrangements with my new manager to be able to attend Mom’s consult the following week. The doctor that I work with tells me that Dad’s enlarged abdominal aorta is an aneurysm. If it’s under a certain size, they will just monitor but if it’s big, they’ll have to remove! What?!?!? My Aunt Dorothy died from an undiagnosed abdominal aortic aneurysm that burst. Told Mom that she is in charge of working on Dad to make sure that they BOTH have wills and all necessary paperwork current. Dad always says it’s too early to do anything like that. HELLO!!!!! (If I ever bring it up, he just laughs at me. We cannot ever have a serious conversation so I gave up a long time ago.) I tried about 80/20 on watching my food today but I was just physically and emotionally drained by the time I was off work at 1pm.

02/28: 202.6; Thursday info: 5141 steps, 6 of 12, 6h49m (83); Thursday I worked as hard as I could as I have Friday off to attend the memorial service for Aunt Kay and Uncle Tom. By the time I got home, I was whooped and I ate entire box of Velveeta Shells & Cheese in one sitting. Stress eat much?!? I did pick up a booklet from next door Family Medicine office for end of life care and paperwork for Mom to take a look at. The 3 of us did have a small conversation about making sure that wills and whatnot get updated/completed so that was a good sign. Since we have family from KY coming to town, Mom and I talked about disclosing her situation to everyone. Also, we’re naming her “mass” Daniel seeing as our 15 pound cat Buster keeps sitting on him and hurting Mom like she’s pregnant with a small child.

69 years old female...5'5" ...I used to be 5'7" but arthritis hit and I lost two inches, so now that two inches is squished around my waist like the billows of a big accordion...

...Oh, well. I'll just keep working on it.

We used to walk 5 miles a day. A pinched nerve and back surgery side-lined me for about a year. Then I had back surgery. Now I'm waiting to get my hip fixed. Hip Doc said surgery in April. Ugh! I can't do any walking or biking...both kill me. I see my personal trainer three times a week. She is taking it very slow and easy with me.

I have March 10th as my hip surgery date...much better than April!

02/28 60.0kg and I'm planning a good weekend without temptation

02/29 59.3kg back below 60! Daughter's birthday party today (birthday is in August!) but I'm not tempted to nibble.

Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and have gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then; I don't want to gain any more, but would like to get back to my goal weight – I'm working at it – it's a permanent way of life !

02/28 133.6 – child minding DGS yesterday, 2 hour journey each way so no structured walking, but chasing him around soft play for 2 hours is a work out !!!
02/29 133.6 – 8.75 miles walked (last 3.5 danced!) yesterday, all macros well in green.
