I will get caught with everyone tomorrow. I’m exhausted. Slept like crap, drove 2.5 hours round trip to get my new weight set. Then put it together and walked my dogs. I also did my 80 Day Obsession stretch and release. But I’m SOOOO excited to use these!! I’m in love. 😍😍

Pedmom Jill - Those weights are pretty bad *kitten*!

Gela 130 - My husband had surgery on his right arm, his dominant side of course. It has healed well and now he is working on strengthening the tendon. Thanks for asking! My kids are 16, 9,7 and 3. Bedtimes have become pretty late since isolation which means I cannot seem to settle until the wee hours of the morning. Lol!

Since my prior "restart" at 1200 calories did not go so well in regards to losing weight, I decided to increase my calories to 1600. However, while the scale did not move, I had to have repeat blood work done for my triglycerides and I am proud to say that by cutting down on some carbs and replacing all sugary soda with water, iced tea, and the occasional Zero cherry coke, I cut those bad boys down by 100 points! The last go round, I also did not eat breakfast. It saved calories for the larger meals with my family and I am usually not hungry in the mornings. Has anyone found that breakfast seemed to help with their weight loss as opposed to a morning fast?

Good morning everyone!! So happy to be part of a group who have similar struggles. I’m 44 yrs old, weigh 144 and have the goal of getting to 125. I workout all the time, now I’ve really been doing a lot of running since the gym is closed. My weight will go from 142-145...it sucks but I’ve got to keep pushing..WE ALL HAVE TO KEEP PUSHING! I do log in daily what I eat on the app...which really helps me out a lot. I would love for us to be able to do virtual workouts, share recipes..anything to help keep us on track. I look forward to becoming friends with you all. Let’s push each other...

Glad you are joining- you seem like you will be a motivating source for me- I am not in texas tho- omaha, nebraska here:)

@PedmomJill Yeah I dont really like to cook. I bake. My husband does the cooking so I struggle because the only things I like to cook are high calorie, high carb, comfort food casseroles. So all else fails I make scrambled eggs. It's just as easy for me to drink a protein shake..🙄 I know I need to exercise more, mostly because I have a desk job and that's just not healthy. I need to find a goal fitness wise or I just dont have the motivation.

Do you have an activity tracker? An hourly movement goal is nice for desk jobs even it just gets you moving for a couple of minutes each hour. It adds up.

Good morning everyone and Happy Monday! Back to the grind for me, as nothing has really changed. I work for a logistics company and we are definitely essential during this weird time.

@sweetstevens Welcome to the group, it's nice to meet you. I'm sorry to hear about your medical struggles, but good for you for not giving up. I can relate to the emotional desire for carbs, oy. You have a lot of good exercises listed so I hope you can find a way to fit in your "me" time. Those results since increasing calories are great! I do intermittent fasting, but not on purpose lol. I am not a morning eater at all. I eat breakfast at 11am, lunch at about 2:30 and dinner at about 6:30. Then I have a snack at 7pm and I'm done for the day.

@copernicus0001 I'm the one that replied to you and this is the great group I joined! I'm glad you found us. Just be warned, this is mostly ladies and we will probably talk about "lady issues" lol. Hopefully you can skim over those. Are you using both Noom and MFP?

@tiff0277 Good for you for passing on the candy! It's not easy for sure.

@lakeshawas3129 We are about the same weight with the same-ish goal. :) I am from Wisconsin, but I have a friend that lives in Tyler, TX. I have visited a few times. The biggest thing I remember about DFW is how funny it was to me that everything is closed on Sunday! They had taken me to the airport and we were going to do some shopping first, but all the stores were closed lol. Then I got snowed in and spent the night at the DFW airport. And it was my birthday and the Packers were in the Superbowl and I missed it. But I still went back for another visit !

@tigerlily8045 My soulmate---I love to bake. It's just me and my son though, so I do have to cook also. And I have had to give up most of my baking because I don't want to eat it. :( I also have a desk job. I have my Fitbit set to give me hourly reminders to get up and that helps a little. But I have to make the effort to actually do a workout every day.

@gela130 I did enjoy the rest of my Sunday, thank you. It was nice to just relax a little after running around all day. And I carried all those weights from the garage to the basement so I even sort of worked out lol. And thanks, I LOVE my gym area. At my age (54) I've been collecting fitness stuff for decades haha. This set and rack is my first major purchase since I bought my elliptical machine in about 2010. :)

Speaking of working out, it's noon so time for my workout. Today is Booty day with Autumn and 80 Day Obsession.

    Have a good afternoon all!

Wow! I hate falling behind in group; I missed so much just over the weekend. It's overwhelming trying to catch up, so I'll just start from here and comment on your posts going forward. Sorry :(

This weekend was rough for me. I ate over my calorie budget Fri, Sat and Sun. My husband says I look sexy, but personally I'm not where I want to be yet. So I go back and forth... My husband is happy with me (so eat what I want) or I'm not there yet (so stay in budget). This weekend my evil side won. I'm just so tired of eating 1200 calories a day!! Once I hit my goal, I better not have to eat 1200 calories to maintain or I'll cry. In the end it will be worth it, but my goodness I miss eating what I want and when I want it.

I reply more during the day while at my desk since I have two screens. I have the thread open on both screens and it makes it much easier.😊

Have you tried calorie cycling? It might help you not feel deprived. So you’d have 1,000 calories for two days and have 400 “banked” to use the third day. Just an idea that I’ve done with carbs in the past.

I used my new weights and love them, yay! I also got to use my 20 pound kettlebell today. It’s been collecting dust since I started Beachbody workouts last October.

Guys..............I'm not seeing many accountability posts here! This is turning into my blog instead of a group. Please post!

I did my 80 Day Obsession workout at noon-Cardio Core. If you're not familiar, you do 3 minutes of jumpy cardio and then some abs. Multiple times......today's was 43 minutes including warmup and cool down. I HATE cardio, but I know I need it........

I hope you all haven't given up on our group!

@PedmomJill Thanks for the great ideas! I will definitely try the calorie cycling. I'll also start checking on the group at work. It's just to hard to keep up with all of the members if you do it once a day or every other day. Also, I LOVE your new weight set! PS... I hate cardio too lol. I even have a workout t-shirt that says "YAY Cardio! Says no one ever"

Hello @wendyron3 and @nuriav1 Welcome to our group :) Hope to hear more from you!

Last night I did one of my new TaeBo dvd workouts. I have the original workouts on vhs tape (which I LOVE), but I don't have a vhs player anymore. Too bad they aren't the same. Oh well, it still kicks my butt which is good.

Welcome! Regular 21DF was my first BOD program. I was happy when it was over cuz man, doing the same thing three weeks in a row was so boring! I’ll try the real times at some point. 👍🏼

@healthytink I hope I didn’t sound mean! I need that shirt. I just dread the cardio days so much. I can’t wait for warm bicycling weather so I can sub some of it. Thanks, I love my new set, too. Such a smart design for space savings and ease of use. I love that I can put my hand right in the middle to grab the weights.

Hi Ladies, how is everyone doing today??

I'm slowly ramping up my weekly running mileage and building base for marathon training that starts late May. I'm due to run my 1st marathon in Chicago in the fall. But, with this pandemic I'm not sure if the race will happen. Berlin Marathon that was scheduled for September was cancelled today, so that's a bummer as Chicago might follow similar path.

I'm cutting down on some snacking last 4 days and I'm proud of that. I said 'NO' to chips, pretzels, left over Easter candy, nuts, etc. I feel a lot of snacking lately is due to "boredom eating" because of isolation and social distancing. I still managed to sneak in some junk food last few days (pizza, fries) but I logged it and enjoyed it. I tend to eat healthy and I cook most of my meals but putting crazy restrictions will only lead to overeating, so I rather satisfy the beast with small amounts of not-so-healthy foods.

A lot of people are doing Beachbody workouts...those are great and tough! I throw in single workouts on my cross-training days from BOD or Pure Barre on demand.

Taebo, holy moly, I did the original workout in college, wore down the VCR :D Oldie but goodie

Thank you for welcoming me to your group!

    @PedmomJill
@gela130 Yes - I am using both Noom and MFP at this time. I think MFP is a far superior application for any data driven activities - logging meals, activities, weights and measurements, etc. Noom's strength lies in having both a "Group Coach" and a "Goal Specialist" that interact with the participants. In the group setting the strengths are only as good as the group's participation and dynamics. A group with very little participation does not work too well. The group coach asks a question or poses a task (like posting a photo of a colorful meal). She tries to get the ball rolling in the group thread. The group coach posts once a day, M-F. The goal specialist's role seems to be to ask a goal related question of the individual once a week and pose another question on a weekly basis. It's value seems to be in the self-examination process that transpires when answering a question. Unfortunately, the responses and queries from the goal specialist and group coach are quite scripted and probably applicable independent of a group or individual's response. Hopefully this setting in MFP proves to be a much better method for mutual encouragement.

@PedmomJill Your new weights look great as does your exercise setup. Sounds like you had a great workout too - it is tough to do something you really don't feel like doing, but the feeling of accomplishment afterward as well as the benefits of the workout hopefully put a smile on your face.

@healthytink Everyone will have ups and downs in their quest to achieve a goal. Stick with it... It may take some time to recover from the "rough weekend", but in the long run you will be much happier when you achieve your goal. ...and your husband will be much happier too since he will see joy and happiness shine from you as you attain your goal.

    So, an accountability post...

I guess first I need to determine to what metrics do I want hold myself accountable. I really am new to dieting and structured exercise... I would also say that dieting is not the correct word to reflect what I am trying to implement. My goals are to improve my health via the development of improved eating habits and incorporating a habitual exercise routine into my daily life. I feel, if I think of what I am doing as "dieting", there is a subconscious assumption that the process will end with implicit permission to revert to old detrimental habits. I need to change my relationship with food so that the changes I make that create a healthier me are permanent.

Oddly enough, this pandemic we find ourselves in has been a boon to improving my eating habits. Typically I found myself eating at either restaurants or social gatherings nearly every night of the week. Poker nights, sailing nights, Friday fish frys (probably the healthiest night of the week), etc... and the typical poker night fare was pizza, tacos, doughnuts, chocolate dipped crullers (oh so good!), and a bag full of burgers from McDonalds or Hardees or Burger King. Everyone would bring something and there was always a table filled with an absolute ton of junk food. My biggest challenge will be avoiding the wrong food choices as social distancing restrictions begin to ease.

My approach so far has been a combination of intermittent fasting with a keto approach to food selection. I have been eating only in the evenings once a day. Generally I find myself having something to eat around 7-8 pm and sometimes a snack later in the evening as well, but nothing after midnight. My magic elixir has been coffee! I was never a coffee drinker, but started drinking far too much soda in college (4-5 cans before 10 am). I have tried to quash that habit and have struggled to do so, however I find drinking a large mug of black coffee in the morning dispels any feeling of hunger I may have in the morning.

I am going to take a few days to determine what metrics I will use to maintain accountability. I have also been exceptionally busy with work - and wasn't expecting a global pandemic to crop up just as I was initiating a transformation of my daily eating and and exercise paradigm - so fitting MFP into my schedule is taking quite a bit of effort, but I am glad to be here.

Thank you again for your warm welcome. I look forward to sharing this path with all of you.

    Douglas
