JUST GIVE ME 10 DAYS ~|~ Round 112 (round 44 for me ) I'm in for another round – just keep going! As always; thank you GrandmaJackie, such a champion particularly in these challenging times, helping to keep some stability in our lives, for setting up these challenges.
Female age 62 5' 4”
Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and have gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then; I don't want to gain any more, but would like to get back to my goal weight – I'm working at it – it's a permanent way of life !
Goal – end lower than started......again! - aim to stick with good habits: be mindful of what I eat & drink, keep walking, no binges, really want to keep this 10 days binge free! Keep calm, wash hands, be kind and follow all latest Government guidelines for C-19 virus.End of round 69 134.2 lbsKeep calm – we're all in this together!

Day/Weight/Comment
04/27 134.2 - 8.84 miles walked. 307 calories in credit, carbs 6 in red.
04/28 133.6 – 9.29 miles walked yesterday, 458 calories in credit, but carbs 5g over, will try to get that under control today. Getting outside for a walk today will be a challenge as rain forecast all day.
04/29 133.2 – no rainless windows to walk yesterday , still I managed to keep within my calorie allowance despite not having any additional exercise ; 147 calories in credit, just 1 g over on carbs.
04/30 133.2 – 10.89 miles walked yesterday – made up for the day before!! 571 calories in credit, all macros in green.
05/01 132.4 – YAY !! a new lowest number this year, so chuffed! Will it stay down? 10.16 miles walked yesterday, calories 664 in credit other macros well in green.
05/02 132.4 – wow, stayed at the new number! Wanted late night snack last night, really wanted to hit the chocolate, but thought of that number encouraged me to just have a pear . Walked 10.4 miles yesterday, 379 calories in credit, all other macros in green.
05/03 134 – whoops! Normal fluctuation? 9.63 walked yesterday with DH to local animal petting farm – it was closed as we expected due to lock down, but the paths and woods round about were not. We had a lovely time wandering around enjoying the bluebells and the wildlife, almost seemed like normality to be out in the countryside again!! It was good to rediscover such an oasis within walking distance of home, I think we might do that walk in reverse today it was so up lifting. Friday, Saturday & Sunday are always more of an eating challenge; Saturday is pizza night, but still in calories, also indulged in cream & jam scone and a glass of cider in the sun in the garden after the walk. 90 calories in credit, but carbs 40 over – ouch!!
05/04 133.4 – 9.26 miles walked yesterday, enjoyed Saturdays walk so much that we decided to do it again yesterday but in reverse! Enjoyed the bluebells and wildlife in the woods just as much, finally worked out how to add photos to my post to share with you! Just 21 calories in credit, fat 19g over, all other macros in green.
05/05 134 - 9.42 miles walked yesterday. Went overboard on eating yesterday – 312 calories over. Endeavour to do better today!
05/06 133.6 whew! 10.53 miles walked yesterday. 368 calories in credit, but 27 carbs over; I had a wobbly (but at least I resisted a total binge) when it was said on TV that we must expect it to be announced on Thursday that the lock down will continue fro another 3 weeks! I am so desperate to see my family and especially my little grandchildren, what makes it worse is that quite a few of my neighbours have been having families & friends visit them, I've seen the cars coming and going, heard them laughing and joking and the children playing in the gardens, are we the only ones keeping to the rules ?? I can sort of see now why people shopped their neighbours in the war – not that I would even think of doing that. Sorry, rant over.
Gain of 0.4 from end of last round – will I ever get a grip?
KEEP SAFE EVERYONE . Keep calm – we're all in this together!

Day/Weight/Comment
04/27 - 134.7 expected this!
04/28 - 134.2
04/29 - 136.0 Doing a new routine which involves strength training and my body is sore. Today is rest day but trying to be in best behaviour when it comes to my diet! I am at work right now and there is this high calorie snack infront of me, makes me tempted to eat but I decided to take control and didn’t have it! Instead gave it to my friend to have it! Feeling good btw!
04/30 - 135.3
05/01 - 134.5 Glad with my progress! Hoping to keep this up! 😀
05/02 - 134.2
05/03 - 134.5
05/04 - 135.1
05/05 - 133.8 I ate some extra carbs for lunch, a larger amount of dessert for dinner(didn’t eat anything beyond that except for a mango), didn’t workout yesterday either and still there is a weight loss today?! I am myself so surprised with this scale!
05/06 - 132.54 -
Thank you @GrandmaJackie
I live in the UK - aged 48 - with hubby and two daughters age 12 and 17 - other 4 (step) kids all grown up and left home and we also have 6 grandkids (aged between 1 and 7). Came back to this in round 110
R110 - Start weight 155.0lb End weight 152.3lb Round Loss 2.7lb
R111 - Start weight 152.3lb End Weight 146.8lb Round loss 5.5lb
Round goal - keep tracking, keep losing and get out for my 10k steps walk in the evenings (working from home at the minute so desk bound most of the day) and keep active at the weekends with doing stuff round the house. Had a big loss last round - so hoping to stabilise a bit this round and finish in the 145's so a loss of around 1.5lb would be good
04/27 - 148.4lb (+1.6lb) Yesterday's weight was a very unexpected loss showing a loss on 1.8lb which came out of nowhere. I also had a full on day yesterday with a lot of heavy gardening, a "Bring Your Parent to Cheer" hour long Zoom training session and a Sunday roast with homemade by my daughters apple crumble (albeit it all within calories but still more food than I would normally eat in the evening!
Today's weigh in still means I've lost over the weekend so still happy
And wow was the cheer session tough! I was ok with the warm-up part as regularly have PT Sessions at the gym, but the stunting part was tough!!! As for tumble - I couldn't do a cartwheel at 15 so no chance at 50!!! Although did manage the forward rolls and a sort of handstand! :
And we were only doing level 1 stuff! My kids are level 4 and level 6 - those girls are strong!!!
04/28 - 146.9lb (-1.5lb) Back down again so maybe Sunday wasn't a fluke and I can blame yesterday on our lovely Sunday roast! Hubby likely to be home late tonight or tomorrow having been away for 5 weeks so we are likely to have date night when he gets home (with an M&S Dine in for two meal) but he's fed up with the food he's managed to get while away (no restaurants open obviously, so been living on take out deliveries and a very limited room service menu) and desperate for healthy colourful food and veggies so not a problem when he gets home to stick with what I'm doing.
Onwards and downwards towards 145
04/29 - 146.1lb (-0.8lb) Another day another drop - please let me find away to bottle up this motivation
I am very excited today - Hubby will be home later today after 5 weeks working away so its date night tonight (an M&S Dine in for Two for those in the UK!) - so I will be having cheese and biscuits for dessert and we will have a bottle of wine and I will enjoy every mouthful The rest of my day will be spot on though.
I know the scale will be up tomorrow morning as a result but I'll know why, I'll take it and I will be back on track first thing tomorrow.
Have a great Wednesday everyone - I know I will!
04/30 - 148.7lb (+2.6lb) 2.6lb of cheese to be honest no hugs needed! A lovely evening catching up with hubby - very chilled and worth every part of the 2.6lb But I'm strictly back to it today so should see this disappear again in the next day or two
???????????????????????????????HOW IS IT MAY ALREADY ???????????????????????????????????????
05/01 - 147.9lb (-0.8lb) 0.8lb of my Wednesday evening cheese fest gone All back on track yesterday and all within calories with no problem and didn't feel the need to stay off plan - happy to get back to it after an evening off so that is definitely a win! So hoping to be back to the 146's very soon and get to my round target of the 145's
05/02 - 146.4lb (-1.5lb) and basically back to where I was as expected after a couple of days. Raclette grill is coming out for dinner tonight - love this way of cooking and eating as a family as very sociable, never rushed and with hubby home its a lovely way to all catch up. Just intend to be good and not overdo the cheese
05/03 -
05/04 - 147.8lb (+1.4lb) Well that's what an English roast dinner on a Sunday evening does to the scales! Not overindulgent - just quantity of food and a glass of red. Very usual for my weight to be up on a Monday. Not concerned that this is "real" weight gain and back to normal today so weight will drop over the next two days for round end. Ended the last round at 146.8lb so just want to be lower than that
05/05 - 147.2lb (-0.6lb) Down a bit so all in the right direction. Should be a good day today - food all planned just need to keep up with my water - forget when sitting here working from home in between (crazy busy ) work, helping kids with their school and college work and still dealing with household stuff too! Hoping for a 146 end......
One more day to the round end - stay focused everyone!
05/06 - 146.7lb (-0.5lb) Bit more of a roller coaster / up & down on the scales kind of round which coincided with hubby coming home which is one for me to think about and work on. Guess we do more social eating together than I thought (M&S Date night meal with wine and cheese when he came home, family raclette night plus back to the Sunday dinner desserts again).
But still (just) down from the end of the last round so on we go.
Also a bit of extra motivation today as when I completed my food diary last night I got the "in 5 weeks you'll weigh" message which was under 1405 -

Round 112 Goal: Try not to focus on the fact I'm playing catch-up after going totally off track for 3 to 4 weeks and gaining back 7.2 pounds (180.6). To stay motivated, I need to celebrate the fact I stopped the downward spiral, and be happy with each pound I lose even if it's the second time around. AND quit obsessing over the fact I gained 7 pounds back and just get on with it

05/03: 176.8
05/04: 176.7
05/05: 176.6
05/06: 176.6 I've lost 4 pounds of the 7.2 I gained back. I struggled badly to stay focused during the first 3 weeks of the virus outbreak - worrying about my family who are 1000 miles away and the sadness of what people are going thru around the world. I regained my focus and motivation during this round. I know the best thing we can do right now is to take care of ourselves by eating right and exercising, not only to stay physically strong but mentally too. I did really well with exercise and calories this round but need to do better with drinking water and eating vegetables and fruit this next round.

Round 112 SW: 176
Goal for 112: I'm not setting a number here. My goal is a new mindset right now.
Day/Weight/Comment
Quarantine has not been kind; I've been out of control. But honestly, I lost control about a year ago, just not to the degree that quarantine has driven it. Trying this again to get back in the groove. No.More.Excuses!
04/30–176--Baby steps beginning today, right? Back to work on what I know is good for me.
05/01–174—I figured yesterday’s uptick was salt and expected a drop, but am SO thankful for it. I did hit my water goal yesterday, which I haven’t been doing consistently for months. Yesterday doesn’t make it consistent, but it’s a start back in the right direction. Did well with food choices too. I’m slightly encouraged by the feeling that, for one day at least, I was able to be back in control of what I put in my freaking mouth!
05/02–173.4—Got in all my water yesterday, did well with food, and also got in two miles of walking after dinner. Steps: 11,206. Yesterday felt good, and a comment that @quiltingjane made was dead on—One Day at a Time. I think it’s clear that I’m a food addict and have been my whole life. I’ve had a relapse over the last 8-10 months, but it’s time to give up those bad habits again and make new ones like I had done before. I did it once. I can do it again.
05/03–173.4—Holding my own on a Saturday is a win!
05/04–174—I’m ok with this considering I made strawberry preserves yesterday and it’s the end of the weekend. Now to press on for two more days to see what I can do to maintain/increase control and work on my mindset.
05/05–172.2—Wow! I’ll take that! It’s been a while since I’ve seen a Whoosh in the right direction. LOL. I was proud of my self-control yesterday. I ate well all day, allowed myself a small slice of fresh strawberry pie for which I had allotted calories, and got in my exercise. I am feeling more in control every day. I must admit, I thought about this group when tempted yesterday, and that little added motivation really helped. So thank you, everyone! Today’s challenge: my family wants homemade salmon dip and panini for dinner (I know, that’s an odd combination, but quarantine is getting to all of us I guess, LOL), so I’ll have to figure out how to make that work for me or how to avoid one altogether. Hope I don’t lose all of this morning’s Whoosh.
05/06–171.8 Victory!!! I am so excited about the progress I’ve made with my mindset and habits this week, y’all. It feels good to be back in the game, mentally and physically. Perhaps I’ve found a new normal in the midst of all this pandemic mess that will not send me back to my highest weight. With your help, I refocused on what goes in my mouth, drinking more of my water goal each day, and being active in some way each day—nothing new to those who are successful here—not even new to me, just haven’t been focused on that in the last few months. The changes this week truly have been more mental than numbers on the scale, but I’m glad the numbers have cooperated. I needed that positive reinforcement. Thank you to those who have been supportive of me this week. It means SO much!7 -
04/27: 258
04/28: 256–Just starting back up so 2 pounds of water weight I’m sure.
04/29: 253–Still mostly water weight. Hoping I can stay motivated now since I probably won’t lose anymore for several days.
04/30: 253.6–I expected this. No surprise here. This is where I usually lose my motivation though, so hoping that doesn’t happen this time.
05/01: 254.6–I was under my calorie goal yesterday but ate way too much sodium. Lots of water today and hopefully this “gain” will be gone tomorrow.
05/02: 252.8–Water weight is gone and I even had Dairy Queen for dinner last night! And instead of just throwing caution to the wind when I got there to order which is what I would usually do, I picked something that fit into what calories I had left. I can honestly say I’ve never even considered ordering a mini size blizzard before yesterday lol. Baby steps!
05/03: 252.2
05/04: 251.2–woohoo!
05/05: 253.6–Too much sodium again yesterday and I went over my calorie goal 😕
05/06: 252.0
So I went up and down some, but lost 6 pounds overall in the 10 days, I’ll take that for sure! I know the weight loss won’t continue at that rate, but this 10 day challenge really kept me motivated. I’ll definitely be doing more!7 -

I'm just too danged cussed to let this thing knock me back, and ruin all the effort I have put in to get here. I am stepping up my routine, and taking control. Sheltering in place means I can fully concentrate on getting in my exercise, and preparing healthy food.
- April: focus on maintaining and increasing my progress
- 2020: Goal is to stabilise weight around 145
- Strengthen strategies to reframe the tendency to use unhealthy snack food as a reward/treat.
- Make sure I have prepared healthy snacks available
- Cut down on eating between meals
Never give up! Never give in!
Back Story:2018 goal: get back down to 160 ✅2020
2019 goal: proceed down to 150 ✅ with 2 months to spare
2020 goal: maintain below 150 dropping slowly down to 145 ✅ So far, so good.
That's a WIN in my book!
Focus: maintenance! I might even manage to lose a bit more ever so slowly.

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

04/30 152 lbs. First day.
05/01 152 lbs. Fun reading the thread. Feeling motivated by other people’s journeys.
05/02 did not weigh. Gone all day from the house/off my normal schedule turkey hunting. Quite a bit of hiking but then sitting all day.
05/03 154. Weighed at later time and off my routine. I’m not worried about day over day fluctuations. The start/end weights of the 10 day round will tell me better if I’m actually trending a weight loss. Took a nice walk to get my heart rate up.
05/04 153.2
05/05 153.2 Getting through my first round will help me set better goals too. Not time to worry. Just going to keep trekking along. My belly feels smaller/better the past couple days. I think it’s the smoothies and salads. 😊 I’m already looking forward to the next round.
05/06 153.2 Holding steady and I don’t mind that. Tells me I need a bit more activity or a bit lighter/cleaner food to see a consistent loss. Going to try an activity goal next round to get my body moving more. Incremental change and finding what works for me are important insights.

04/27 - 156.6 Somethings not right with my scale. I put over 5 lbs on overnight? I worked really hard yesterday and I feel super swollen, and while I didn't track calories I certainly didn't binge yesterday. I guess that's why I'm here...
04/28 -155.6 Down a lb from yesterday, but still so confused that I jumped 5 lbs yesterday. My hands are still swollen from the post hole digging 2 days ago. Hoping that at least a couple of these pounds are water weight. rode and ran.
04/29 -155.4 This is so frustrating. How am I back in the 155 range still. I feel like I've been watching my calories so tightly and yet have nothing to show for it. Feeling really disheartened. I was in the 155 range in February it's almost May and I never hard core fell off the wagon... Sigh
04/30 -152.8 Whew! I was seriously starting lose faith. I'm going to hope that it was mostly water weight due to the intense work that building a horse stall required. Just have to remember to stay the course.
05/01 -152 Nice. I would like to at least make it back to my end weight of last round, but we'll see.
05/02 -153 Not sure why I'm back up. I didn't go over calories
05/03 -153
05/04 -152.4 I would expect. I worked outside a ton over the weekend.
05/05 -151.8 Nice. Not sure I'll make it back to 151.4, but last challenge was a ridiculous drop for me so it's OK. Just staying the course. I can tell my body has definitely changed shaped over the last 6 months. I wish I had taken a picture at the start.
05/06 -151.4 After a crazy high start I'm Ok with just being back where I ended last challenge. 1.4 lbs from goal weight and maintenance.
Question, do you guys use the weight from the last day of the challenge as your new start weight or the weight from the first day of the challenge. Because depending on which you do I was either at 0 loss or -5.2. LOL! I guess all that matters is the long term trend. I'm ALMOST there. Must stay the course.4 -

Rain, rain....but it is still April.

I can’t believe it’s almost May. I seem to have misplaced April somewhere.

Thai food yesterday. 🌶 I stayed away from the caloric curries, but even so, lots of sodium in stir fry. Overall calories were in line, though, so whatever. I launched my “new” business yesterday — actually long-time business teaching writing classes, workshops, mentees, but now online and on my own, not through the university or school system. 📚✍🏼👩💻Wish me luck! Have a lovely weekend, all. Happy May Day! 🌷💐🌸
5/2/20 - 182
Gorgeous weather! I’m planning a couple of walks (one at a nearby park to see the wildflowers) and at least an hour in the garden. I have to do some baking and delivery over the next few days — our Unitarian-Universalist congregation) is doing a “thinking of and missing you” thingy for staff and members who are home alone through all this. I have four, so bread in the oven for our piano guy. I guess I’ll do one a day unless I resort to a big batch of cookies or a couple of quick breads. I think it’s a lovely way to reach out and “hug” at a distance. Have a lovely Saturday!
5/3/20 - 184
Well, crap. I was a little high yesterday, but 2 lbs? I didn’t even sample any of my baking yesterday. Clearly my body thinks it should weigh 180-185. I think not. I’m pretty ticked off at myself for letting this happen. Harumph.
5/4/20 - 182.4
I spent lots of time in the garden yesterday — gorgeous day, hit 82 degrees. A little cooler today, but perfect for more gardening and a nice walk. I’m going to see how things are at one of the parks — we went Sat. and it was full of people, and exactly 2 were wearing masks around others: me and my husband. I don’t get it. So if crowded again, I’ll find another pretty place to walk.
5/5/20 - 181.8
Good day yesterday. I got the last of my garden beds cleaned up and ready for new plants — picking up a bunch Thursday from our Botanical Conservatory plant sale. Yay! Got two writing classes almost ready to launch online. Worked on my own new mystery novel. Went for a walk. Talked to a couple of friends on the phone. Delivered a fresh-baked loaf of cinnamon raisin bread to someone from church. Knitted a bit. Not bad. DH wants Thai carry out for lunch (a month ago he was sure he didn’t like Thai food!) so I ordered veggie stir fry to control calories. Now I need to set one more loaf of bread to rise for one more delivery. Maybe a seeded spelt. I love baking, so it’s nice to have an outlet other than my belly! Have a lovely day, friends! Here are some forget-me-nots for you, with grape hyacinths and a tulip for good measure.
5/6/20 - 181.4
Okay, crazy round, but I think I’m finally getting the snacking bug under control. And we did have Thai yesterday, so a little of today’s weight may be water. Onward!

Day/Weight/Comment
04/27 DNW today. I live with my in-laws and the scale vanished from the bathroom because I think my sister in law used it to weigh her cat. So I took that as a sign from the universe to just wait until tomorrow morning. I didn’t sleep so great and woke up at 4AM wide awake, so I’m hoping that doesn’t affect my appetite too much today. I’m hoping to be down from 125.2 tomorrow morning. It was a weekend filled with birthday dinners for my husband but I did manage to stay relatively close to calorie goals. Last night I probably went over by about 150 or so, which isn’t a killer. I also focused on drinking more water yesterday but lacked enough fiber. So drinking a good amount of water and getting enough fiber today is my goal today!
04/28 124.4 Down back into the 124 range. Dipped last round to 124 and bounced back up to 125.6 then down to 125.2 I think it was, which I concluded was due to water weight. I was excited today to see I’m back in the 124 range. I also had a NSV today by upping my daily pushups from 3 sets of 20 reps to 3 sets of 25 push ups. I’ve been doing pushups every day for a week and a half or more and feel like I have already seen a difference in muscle definition 😊. I had remembered reading in the past that your arms are one of the muscle groups you can see a change in relatively quickly. So that was nice to notice yesterday and today 😊.
04/29 124.4 Stayed the same and I’m good with that. It’s been a great day so far, our morning walk was almost 4 miles around our neighborhood. The sun was shining, and it finally felt a little bit like spring again after the rains we had on Sunday and Monday. I even spotted some violets on my walk. Yesterday was a good day food wise and I have today’s menu mapped out and I’ll be pretty close to my calories with two glasses of wine included. (The wine is to celebrate my husband finishing up his semester of grad school. 😊)
04/30 124.4 Stayed the same. Yesterday was a good day and I didn’t even end up drinking last night so I woke up feeling pretty good today. I find my body is sensitive to alcohol and even a glass or two will affect my sleep and the way I feel the next day. I guess it’s a blessing in a way because it makes me want to drink less. This morning I decided to give my muscles a rest and didn’t do my daily push-ups and air squats. I did get in a 3 mile walk this morning before the rain started, so I feel like I’m off to a good start for the day. I’m also looking forward to this weekend. It’s supposed to be 70 on Sunday! Yippee!!
05/01 124.0 Yay! Back to 124 😊. I ate well yesterday and about ¾ of the way through my dinner I decided I wasn’t satisfied so I wrapped it up and decided that I would eat something else to satisfy me. I ended up finishing my dinner with weighed out dried mango and apricots. My dinner was yummy though, it was kale gnocchi from Trader Joe’s mixed with a touch of their canned tomato sauce and 1 cup of their red pepper and tomato soup. I think I’m having a hard time with the 1200 calories and like when I exercise because I eat a little more and feel more satisfied. When I have to stick with 1200 calories, I feel like my meals are pretty small. We haven’t been going out to get food and only getting it delivered from Imperfect Foods, so I haven’t been able to get all of the produce I would like to volume wise. The produce is great from them but my family has been extremely careful with everything coming into the house. So having a ton of produce delivered is a bit of a chore because we are washing everything all at once and it takes like an hour to get it all done. I guess you could say I’m being lazy… because I am. I can’t wait for the days to be normal again and I can go to the store and buy whatever produce I want and not feel as though everything is contaminated. Sorry if that was a little ranty.
05/02 124.0 Yay, still at 124! Yesterday was good food wise, I’m really enjoying weighing my food to know how much I’m putting in my body. For my breakfast yesterday I made myself a chocolate protein mug cake that was divine. It helped my chocolate craving and didn’t get dry or have a weird texture. So that was a solid win. Today was a beautiful day and a good one food wise as well. I intermittent fasted until 11ish today ad started my day with a pineapple beet smoothie and two slices of sprouted cinnamon raisin toast and a smidgen of butter. Then we had baked chicken parm with brown rice and quinoa pasta.
05/03 122.8 I’m so excited! I beat my round goal and I’m so happy! I feel so good despite getting stung five times yesterday while tending our honey bees. I love the way my body feels right now and I don’t have that fluffy feeling in and around my belly/hips area. This was a nice number to wake up to. The last time I was in the 122’s was when I had the flu in February and wasn’t eating for like a week... so naturally that weight came back when I started to feel better and eat. Now I’m eating well and got to that number in a healthy way. I hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday!
05/04 122.8 Whoop! Maintained the loss for another day! Yesterday was so nice out! Although I wasn’t super active because I wanted to let my body heal a bit after the stings on Saturday. Food wise though, I was great. I started my day with a blueberry, orange, banana and kale smoothie at 11AM. Then for a snack sized lunch I had some whole wheat cous cous with spices mixed in with a big glass of water. Then, for dinner I made a really yummy thin crust pizza with red sauce, mozzarella and romano cheese, broccoli, onion, bell and jalapeno peppers. I also sprinkled on this Italian sofrito spice mix from a holiday spice set from Trader Joes. I’ll be so sad when it runs out (it was a seasonal item), I’ll have to try to make my own version of it. All of this food was within my calories for the day, so that was a nice win! I loved it too because I was able to eat the entire pizza thanks to watching the foods I ate earlier in the day! Today also started out well with a 3.6 mile walk this morning and my daily mini exercise routine. Have an awesome day everyone!
05/05 124.0 This is definitely hormonal because all that fun stuff is due in the next couple of days. This is good because it’s part of the reason I’ve been wanting to track my daily weights. I know it’ll go back down once things simmer down again. I had a great day yesterday with food and keeping within my calories and water thanks to exercise. It was actually one of my highest calorie burn days according to my Forerunner35 watch, so I know I’m being active enough. Today I plan to make some homemade hummus and have some antipasto veggies with it for lunch. I love hummus and can eat it with just a spoon, but I guess adding some veggies and whole grain pretzels to it might make it a little more balanced!
This morning, I did my mini body weight workout of push-ups, air squats with a push press using a medicine ball, and some Russian twists using the med ball. 3 sets of 25 for each exercise and only takes 8 minutes. I’m also huffing and puffing by the end of it because it’s completed only a little bit after I wake up, so my body isn’t used to the higher heart rate yet. We got in another 3.6 mile walk this morning but did a different route. There were less hills today but it was gorgeous/sunny out even if it was a bit chillier. The weather is looking clear for the rest of the week so it looks like I’ll get in a walk each day. 😊
05/06 Woo hoo!! 122.8. Lost .2lbs more than my goal of 123! This just shows how temperamental the body can be. The weird part is that I still woke up feeling puffy and was expecting a higher number because of the way my body felt. Went for an awesome 4.5 mile walk this morning and did another mini 12 minute bodyweight workout this morning.
I have also decided that I want to try to get more protein in my diet. We just received our first monthly meat CSA, so I feel confident in using what I have now and not worrying about running out/ not being able to buy it. I am so grateful my sister in law found that farm a couple of months back. So we went to pick the share up yesterday (via a contactless pick-up). I love supporting local agriculture and was sad when everything started happening (because farmer's markets make my summer so much more fun) with the pandemic but the farms in my state have really made it work still. This whole situation just really shows how important it is to have a sustainable food system within your area whether its urban, suburban, or rural farms of all kinds.
I had a solid day food wise yesterday which included a steak from the share which was such a nice treat! Now the leftovers will be my breakfast/lunch today! I also learned last night that antihistamines can make you feel like you’re not getting full. I had been feeling that way on Monday and Tuesday, so I did some research and found that the antihistamine/allergy medicine I took on Sunday and Monday for my bee stings could have been causing that feeling. Apparently, histamines play a part in the signaling to your brain that you are full. Luckily, I can stop taking them because the swelling has subsided! I hope you didn’t mind my long-winded post! Have a wonderful day!

04/27. DNW. Babysitting grand kids out of town.
4/28 DNW
4/29 DNW
4/30 DNW
5/1 161.0 lbs. I know this number will creep up all weekend as again, I snacked all day with the grandkids, sort of boredom snacked during naps, it's hard to do much else at someone else's house. My DIL doesn't like people doing stuff to help out, very independent, I could wash dishes but not much else. Lot's of chasing the 23 month old and 7 month old but not much steps really. Lots of reading to them. Grateful for the opportunity but it's good to be home and get back on track. Going grocery shopping with the ladies today.
5/2/162.6 lbs. 1500 calories, 11,000 steps, IF 16 hours
5/3 160.0 lbs 1200 calories, 20,000 steps IF 16 hours
5/4 160.6 lbs 1400 calories, 18,000 steps IF 16 hours, back pain from watching grandkids and yard work might slow me down today and of course the rain.
5/5 159.6 lbs 650 calories, 16,500 steps IF 16 hours, spring cleaning continues for Graduation
5/6 157.8 lbs 900 calories, 14,000 steps IF 16 hours, fell taking the curtains down to wash, so today I will take a break because I messed up my scrubb the floor wrist. LOL but that was it and should be in good shape in a couple days.
Loss of 3 lbs!!! for the round. I can not believe it after all that junk I ate babysitting. I realize this will fluctuate but what a great motivator. I needed that. See you next round.4 -
@musicsax I know how you feel about not sticking to the rules as we know of people who have had visitors too.
My husband has been working away for nearly 6 weeks stuck in a hotel where the bar and restaurant are shut (only pre ordered meals available to eat in their rooms from take out style containers, no changing of towels or sheets unless they asked for clean items then they had to change them themselves - working 15 hours a day, 7 days a week - wasn't pleasant). We ave the Life360 app and my 17 year olds shows "At Home" since 7th April and that was only for a short walk round the block Our 12 year old has only been out with me to walk to the shop or on a weekend longer walk to the woods. It is tough - We haven't seen our eldest kids or grandkids either since this all started
Personally I think in the UK the one hour rule for exercise will be relaxed but still no visiting allowed and the social bubble they talk about I think will come in from early June - but guess we'll find out more on Sunday from Boris3 -
@musicsax I just wanted to say that you are not alone and our household is staying away from people, including extended family. I haven't seen my mom or other extended family memebers in months and it sucks so much but we know it's safer not to be out and about. Our entire family hasn't left the house since March (except for early morning walks and we cross the street when someone is walking towards us.). Yesterday was the first day I drove to do a contactless pick-up for our csa. It was so weird being out because it seemed like it was business as usual driving by some of the businesses.3

Hi There!! I'm Tisha...about 3.5 years ago I started with MFP to get some weight off, 45 kind of hit me hard. One of the tools I used at that time was this here "give me 10 days" thread which I started posting on in probably round 2 or 3, it really helped. I lost 40 lbs and was probably in the best shape I've ever been in...and then life hit the fan (Dad got sick, knee injury, a few other life changes) and over the last 2 years I've managed to put back on 38 of the 40lbs I lost. Yesterday I woke up and said to myself enough is enough, you did this once before you can do it again, and I logged back into MFP!! This morning I checked to see if this thread was still active and low and behold all of you daily loggers are keeping it going!! So I'm back!!!
48F/5'5"
SW: 182.2lbs
GW: 140lbs
04/27: 182.2
04/28: 179.8 - probably a result of limited carbs yesterday and the water I was conscious to get in me.
04/29: 180.0
04/30: 179.8 - Power went out last night right after dinner so we had a candle lit games night with the boys....had a couple of beers, so this isn't bad.
05/01: 179.4 - We had crappy weather yesterday but I took the dog for a walk in the rain and did a 20 minute work out video with one of my boys. It was National Oatmeal Cookie day so of course I had to taste test our celebratory baking LOL...but I made really good breakfast and Lunch choices so I could splurge a bit on dinner and cookies.
05/02: 180.8 - BLEH! Not nearly enough water and a salty dinner yesterday...but I did take the dog for an awesome hike.
05/03: 181 - forgot to post
05/04: 180.8 - Weekends are hard enough even without the TOM cravings bleh!! We went for a great 5km hike yesterday and got a lot of work done in the garden. Going to stick harder to the plan this week! May the 4th be with you!!!
05/05: 181.8 - Ugh....Hormones!! Eating was pretty good yesterday and took the dogs to the woods again so I got lots of hills in. Probably not going to see a huge loss this round due to my cycle but at least I will have weighed everyday and re-started some good habits.
05/06: 181.2 - Well, at least I didn't end the round up. Hoping this starts me on some better habits, at least I have started with the daily accountability part of if, even if I'm not so proud of my actual will power by the end of each day. I'm owning that I need to do better after 5pm.
See you all tomorrow!!7 -

Day/Weight/Comment
04/27 190.0. Ugh, this is a bad trend. Work all week to lose, then have a terrible weekend day and be back where I started. Or worse. More than 3lb gain. I can not afford to do this again!!!
04/28 189.0 Would be great if I continued to lose 1lb/day but I doubt it. Probably just releasing some salt-water weight. Gotta keep to plan and get back to my previous low!
04/29 188.8
04/30 188.2
05/01 187.2
05/02 187.2 So one week after a Saturday binge and I’m still carrying 1.2lbs of damage. It’s amazing to me how much I resent this, how different my attitude about posting to this thread is when I’m just making up for self-lost ground rather than moving ahead on my journey. As much as my 2 week plateau bothered me, I knew I was doing the work and there was nothing more I can do. Now I’m still doing the work but my mindset feels different. Oh well, I will just keep grinding away at this 1.2 so that I can start moving forward. Life is a journey.
05/03 186.4 Still going down. Another 0.4 to recover all my gains. I have decided to take a maintenance week and set my calorie target higher. Not sure I will try to eat fully at the higher target, but it worked for yesterday to know I had some extra room even if I didn’t use it all. Most important thing is to eliminate emotional eating binges that set me back before I worry about losing more.
05/04 187.0 Waking up hungry I’d hoped for better news than this. I just have to keep remembering I’m still down 25 for the year. Keep at those habits.
05/05 187.6 either hormones, or yesterday’s meals were truly high sodium. Eating those leftovers today, so if it’s the food I won’t see a loss tomorrow either...we’ll see.
05/06 186.6 Well, I guess I exactly maintained. Better than a gain!
Round 112: +/-0.0

@MomLarisa, I have a start weight and an end weight. For better or worse, I just go with the number on the scale.2

Hi, I’m Karen and I’m in my 50’s
OSW-187 Sept. 2018
Walk +/- 7 miles 4 x week. Goal Weight this Round: Stay in 50’s
Drink plenty of water.
RSW-157. RGW-154
5/1-157-Lots going on. Too much comfort food and not enough walking. I’ve been weed eating and cleaning up around our new house. There is a lot of chunks of concrete and plaster that I want to throw in the dump trailer before it leaves. I also want to get as much as I can done, before the movers show up with all of the boxes so I can stay inside and unpack. Hoping for a final inspection today.
5/2-154-Ate wisely and did lots of yard work and drank a ton of water.
5/3-156
5/4-154-I have a dr. appointment tomorrow and want to be lower.
5/5-156
5/6-154-This is low as I can get lately. I’ve been doing tons of yard work and no walking. Hoping, again for a final inspection today while I am out there chopping weeds and hauling them off. See all of you next round.💚6
