    Challenges/ Successes:
It's been a good week from a health, fitness and diet perspective. I tried qi gong for the first time, and have done it everyday for a week now. "Mindfulness" is one of those things I've struggled to get into a regular practice of, as my mind really wanders a lot, so I've now decided moving meditation might be a better approach. Like other traditional mind-body practices qi gong works on a number of different levels at the same time - exercise, relaxation, mindfulness, healing, etc. I can definitely feel a difference in how my body feels and stress levels. I don't know if it is a coincidence, but my resting heart rate has been lowest it's ever been for the whole week!

Biggest challenge remains personal - stress - challenges within the family, things outside of my control, that I don't have any ability to change, and just have to work on improving how I handle this. The good news is that I no longer feel the desire to stress eat, and I have been sticking to my way of life even when feeling upset, stressed, angry, etc.

@kgirlhart - cut yourself some slack. You are maintaining BELOW your goal range. If gaining to go up to your goal range causes anguish, or even just stress, set your goal lower. Otherwise it seems you're doing great.

I get it though. We're close to the same age, and I'm only a wee bit taller. I've been "maintaining" out of my goal range, but on the OVER side. That's still a drag, but it's also still only temporary. We'll get where we need, and when we don't, we'll keep trying until we do. It will be fine if you ease back up to your goal range. That's what it's for!

    Successes: I’m maintaining! After a lifetime...of obesity & losing/gaining. My
Mantra is: “What can you do (habits, controlling the foods that come into the house, etc.) to make maintenance easy?!
    So far, so good.

Struggles: Had hubby hide our chocolate supply. I place my “order” in the AM. Won’t be forever, but right now this is helping with portion control.

Thanks @mtaratoot I know you're right. I think part of my problem is that after I reached my original goal I was so much more active that I kept losing weight and kept lowering my range. I do have an irrational fear that if it starts going back up it will keep going up. Most of the time the fluctuations don't bother me since I usually know what has caused them. But I guess sometimes we all feel insecure. I was down a pound today so I can see that it is just typical fluctuations.

Sometime those fluctuations can be annoying. I had one today, but I'm going to do my best to ignore it for a few days. I have some food plans for today that will NOT help moderate this, but it's in the plans so I'm going to enjoy it and then see where I'm at around Wednesday or Thursday. And what my month looks like when it's done.

    Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week:
When I come over here on my weigh-in day, I always read the posts since my last weigh-in day. It is such great support, both the good days and bad.

For me, my goal was to have two weeks at or under goal weight on weigh-in day and I did it. Was not sure the scale would behave today since I was over calorie goal yesterday and had two high sodium days but it squeaked by. Notice I was ready to blame the scale not me. 😊

Hi! My name is Kristen. And I struggle to maintain my weight. I have had great success losing/gaining, but I'm hoping this group helps me be more accountable. I weigh only 1x week on Sundays, so that's when I'll check in. My 2 goals in 2020 are to not let the scale go above 153 and weigh in EVERY Sunday for the WHOLE YEAR. This seems easy to most, but I get lazy and make excuses why I don't need to weigh in and then all of a sudden everything in my closet has shrunk. LOL

Successes/Struggles: I'm almost the bottom of my maintainace weight range. Those 5lbs came on rather quickly! Now time to regulate again. Might be time to cut back a bit...ugh.

HEAVIEST weight: 175.4 in early 2013.
    Total Weight lost: 30 pounds
Time it took to lose: ~6 months
How long in maintenance: Since July 2018 -- but with some fluctuation outside of goal range.
Maintenance weight range: 142 - 148 (and not sure that's the right answer)

Average weight recorded from 2017 (12 months): 163.8
Average weight recorded from 2018 (12 months): 150.7

Average weight recorded from May 2020: 149.2

    Average weight Week of...
    April 27 - May 3 ....... 149.9
    May 4 - 10 ....... 149.3
    May 11 - 17 ....... 149.1
    May 18 - 24 ....... 148.9
    May 25 - 31 ....... 149.4

Success of the week: I seem to have hit the top and am coming slowly back down to the middle or bottom of my maintenance range. I am still outside my ideal range, but still within my +/- 5-pound allowance. The numbers don't quite show this; I had a big short-term increase early this week, but the trend is actually there. May is going to be my heaviest month in a while, but I won't get any heavier in June. The Trendweight web page says I'm losing a tiny bit each week, and that is about what these numbers here show.

Struggle of the week: I am surprised how I actually did NOT have a struggle when the scale went way up last week - six pounds in two days from Sunday to Tuesday. I had given myself permission to eat a lot of things I usually don't. Over the next few days, things moderated quite well, so the only struggle is the same one I've written for several weeks now, which is that I am way too close to the top of my allowable range for my comfort.

Challenges/ Successes: This week/month I feel I've done a good job of maintaining (five months now!). I've brought my average down a bit from where it was in March and April (when it trended up for a little bit there) and right now it suggests my trend is a bit lower than goal.

I'm trying to decide whether to lower my goal weight a little - wondering if weight dropping down means I have some extra fat to lose. A few months ago when I got a dexa scan my body fat percentage was 27%, which is within the healthy/acceptable range, but not necessarily optimal. My thought at the time was to work on body composition - not try to lose "weight" but to build up a bit more muscle and lose a bit more fat without there being a net difference in weight. However, then covid happened, and I haven't been feeling that motivated to build muscle, so it's more like I'm sitting at about the same weight with presumably about the same amount of fat.

My main challenge (health wise) at the moment is indecision. Whether to lose a bit more fat, how to improve my exercise plan, whether to try to build more muscle (knowing that requires more work!), and so on.
