Thank you @speyerj! Some times you just need to hear "You know what? You're doing okay!"
@orangequilt, If I understand correctly, it's not that you are anxious, but now that your brain isn't feeling as sluggish, there's more room for overthinking, etc.?
Yes that's what I meant to say. Although it could just have been a menopause blip because I'm feeling ok again now.5 -
@Terytha I agree that motivation is unsustainable. It definitely comes and goes. I’m only about a month in and I’ve hit lows in the motivation department. Some days are worse than others! I’m sorry your stomachs been a mess I hope things improve!
@cesse47 I hope things are going okay for you! Are things getting any better?
@sweetirish Congrats on being approved for IVF. Sending baby dust your way!!
My Pup (he’s about a year and a half) got neutered yesterday and is not taking it will. He cried for hours. Struggled with the cone during the night, got locked in the bathroom and freaked out. He’s a super emotional dog and I just feel so guilty. Ended up taking the day off so I can take care of him.
Diets still going well-ish. Been pretty hungry lately. I’m not usually one for eating back ‘exercise’ calories but my Apple Watch barely adjusts my calories at all. Drives me crazy because when I’m walking around and doing all this extra stuff it’ll estimate I burned about 3700 but was only given 1600 to eat. Feels off but what can you do!8 -
@speyerj & @procolorer Thank you ladies!
I meal prepped last night for breakfasts for the rest of the week and lunch for today. I followed my own exercise schedule last night despite really wanting to blow it off. Tonight is weights/strength training. Good, because there's no AC in my workout room at the moment and cardio sounds like it's going to be a bad decision in today's heat.

@procolorer Thank you for caring. As devastating as this disaster was, every step forward is an improvement. The biggest blessing is that no one was killed or severely injured. Brother's house, garage, and pole barn are almost completely empty. A mennonite work crew came in on Monday and helped family and friends clear it all to the curb. Cleanup has now begun -- and there's a lot to do, just getting all the mud and silt out of them is a major undertaking. Waiting for inspections and then can begin tearing out all the drywall in ceilings and walls ... basically strip all structures down to the studs.
Two major road repairs have begun. First to US10 expressway and the second to repair M30 at Edenville. These are the two most traveled roads that feed the busiest traffic corridors. The damages to roadways, bridges, and driveways is extensive and will require major repairs. The two dams -- a task force is being formed to evaluate options and determine a path forward ... that will take a very long time to resolve.
Community support is magnificent. Churches have organized work crews. United Way & Red Cross heavily involved and working with city & county organizations to keep things organized and continue to provide communications regarding where to get food, supplies, who to contact for help with dozens of needs, etc.
Sorry ... so much to say; it's still overwhelming. Now that I can stay home (to do mega loads of laundry), my stress level is starting to reduce. And, I can prepare my own foods again. Please continue to keep all of the areas involved in the flood and all the peoples impacted in your prayers. It means so much to all of us. Thanks!!13 -
@cesse47 It never ceases to amaze me how in really tough times, communities unite, reach out and help each other! It gives me hope! I will keep praying for you and your family and extended community.7

Weigh-in Wednesday
Highest weight: 435 (11/1/18)--lost 50 lbs. by the end of 2018 but got off track and gained back almost 31 lbs.
SW: 415.8 (4/17/19)
4/30: 252.4
5/6: 250.4
5/13: 248.2
5/20: 247.6
5/27: 244.0
5/31:
May GW: 244.4
GW: 160 (then reevaluate)
Weekly exercise goals:
- exercise bike 5 times per week - 5/5
- short walking videos or treadmill twice a day 5 times per week - 5/5
- strength training (including core specific exercises) 2 times per week - 2/2
- chair yoga 4 times per week - 4/4
- choose 2 or 3 core specific exercises and start doing them 3 times per week - finally did this! I picked out 2 exercises to start. I plan to do them twice a week for now when I do my other strength training exercises.
The loss this week helped balance out last week's smaller loss. The total loss for the 2 weeks just about hit the projected loss in my spreadsheet for those 2 weeks. Over time you'll see your expected results if you're consistent. You just need to have some patience, I guess.
When I first started exercising, I didn't eat back my exercise calories. I was doing so little in the beginning they really had no impact. But I thought maybe now I should look into eating some back as my exercise has increased and my calories allotted have decreased with continued weight loss. So I tracked the calories just from my exercise bike for the last 4 weeks to see if eating those back might make sense. Based on my projected (with & without the exercise calories) and actual losses, I'm going to try eating them back for the next 4 weeks. The calories I'm getting off my exercise bike seem pretty accurate for me. Eating those calories back will slow down my loss just a bit but the extra calories will make this a more sustainable process for me. I'm not in any race to reach my goal weight after all!
My son told me about a bike/walking trail not too far from where I live. It has an almost mile long board walk over a small river that joins 2 lakes. I was a little leery about the boardwalk but the boards are close together and the ride was very smooth. It was a bit busier than other trails I've been on but I didn't crash into anyone! It was just beautiful! The paved part had one or two small hills but nothing too challenging. It was a good trail for a beginner.
He also told me about a trail in the next town over from mine. I took a look at it (walking) and it's all paved and doesn't look too busy (it's a pretty small town). It has a pretty big loop plus other side trails you can do in and out. It looks like a good place for some practice rides. There's one long hill on one of the side trails so I can avoid that at first but then tackle it when I'm ready for a bit more of a challenge.
@cesse47 You and your family are in my prayers. Good luck with all you have to do!
Hope you all have a good week.8 -
@cesse47, I’m thinking of you and your family, I hope everyone continues to be safe and well.
To everyone else congrats on the successes you’ve had and hugs to those who may be struggling right now.
I, personally, fell off with logging and tracking the last two weeks. I did it very sporadically, which has not been good for me. I’m trying to get back into it today. Just fell into a bit of funk and felt overwhelmed so I stopped for a little bit. I’m feeling more refreshed and ready to jump back in! I finally feel like I have a bit of a better balance with working from home, school, and family life.
I am a little nervous to step on the scale come Friday, but it needs to be done and I’ll just work with whatever number I’m at.10 -
@cesse47 Nice to see your post. I have been thinking about you. Take care.
@AlexandraFindsHerself Yes, I think you will get back to losing once you are settled. It is great you are maintaining.
@duebedm My husband is working from home and is working more than before which is saying a lot since he works more than his 40 hrs before. He isn’t getting any exercise unless I get him to take a walk with me. I have told him to take some PTO too. This is all said to indicate that I have witness at close hand what you are describing about how it has been. I am sorry about the team member but it sounds like the rest of the team and management is supporting you. Hope this time of PTO helps.
It is nice to hear that those who are near or made their goals are feeling that they can revisit a new ultimate goal that is achievable.
@mmdeveau, Wow that is a big loss this week! I agree about routine. It is better than motivation. This from a reformed anti-routine person. Seeing 9 lbs from your goal weight on the scale is awesome.
@sweetirish I was intrigued with all your exercise options. Fridays are typically when I find a video to help with exercise.
@Terytha I hope you figure this out. How frustrating.
@orangequilt It sounds like you have or are close to figuring this transition out. I think it is healthy to look at this.
@MuttiNM I am glad you are considering eating back exercise calories. I think whatever you decide will be best. Since you are doing such a good job tracking and losing you can adjust if it isn’t working. I sometimes eat back them. I am flexible. If I don’t feel hungry I don’t. If I feel hungry or weak I do. I hardly ever go over my calorie goal on MFP which of course includes them but I generally try to leave some calories on the table. I love the trails you are discovering.
@torihudson6 I have been logging and tracking but I haven’t been doing some of my goals in the past 2 weeks such as exercise and even my training chapters as consistently. For me it has been distractions and disruptions to my routine.
Yesterday my daughter turned 26 which meant that she is only covered by our insurance until the end of the month. So on top of celebrations there have been other issues to make sure she gets done. I was proud of her getting signed up for Applecare (Washington States version of affordable care act health insurance). She arranged to get meds and see the dentist in time.
She and my husband had a 3 day weekend so I took one too. I have set my schedule to look like a work week where I have more of a routine and more on my to do list on week days. This has helped me during the pandemic and being on temp furlough. But lately this has been hard to follow. I have gotten more reading done and less exercise and training chapters. My water intake has been a bit lower too lately so I am hoping that I get back to my routine for the rest of the week. I don’t think there are more excuses/distractions. I seem to be losing for now and not keeping my weight down between losses. Except for some birthday celebration treats I am eating healthily.
Today I am following my schedule with a late start. I am planning on drinking a glass of water each hour until I get to my goal. Since dinner is leftovers I can keep working on my to do list until later in the day.

Hey everyone, I’ve found my way back to you lovely ladies. Its been rough since everything went down and I took a step back in my weight loss journey but I feel mentally ready to resume. I am focusing on developing better habits and not trying to do too much too soon, but wanted to come back to this great community because you guys do inspire and provide great support.
Looking forward to catching up with everyone13 -
I have increased my calorie intake limits because I am under an absolute kittenload of stress, and that's one less thing I can worry about right now. Saw a house today, offered for it on the way home, and apparently someone got in before us. This is the third house we've lost, and I melted down and had a panic attack and it was not good. My current calm state is medication induced. We're seeing four houses tomorrow, so maybe we can find one and get an offer in and get it accepted, so I am not having nightmarish fears about being homeless and having to give up the cats.
I am sure that once I know where we're going, I'll be fine, and be able to go back to my proper eating habits, and not need the comfort of carbs. But for now, this is what I need to do to cope.9 -
Oh my - there are so many posts I want to comment on.
Cesse47 - continuing to send prayers for you and yours. You and your body are in total survival mode right now, and it seems like you are doing an amazing job managing all the chaos that has been thrown your way. I am glad to hear how your community has come together in this crisis.
Alexandrafindsherself - crossing my fingers you will have luck on a house! Nothing as stressful as a big move. I agree it makes sense to move your calories to maintenance as you work through all this stress. From all your posts, I have gotten the impression that at your core, you are quite a strong and resilient person, and I know you are going to come out on the right side of this. You got this!
Muttinm - nailing your goals! You are an inspiration!
For me, I turned down the most lovely cupcake yesterday baked by a wonderful baker. Lovely and absolutely fragrant with blueberry and lemon curd. Lemon is just absolutely my favorite flavor. I must really want to get into the 170s! Out the door earlier than usual today so took the longer walk to the train which is a choice I feel good about. In just the happiest moment today, I saw 179.6 on the scale! I was a little dehydrated and will bounce up tomorrow after replacing my fluids today. But still, I saw it! Once you see it, you sort of know it’s possible to get there. I have been longing to get out of the 180s and have been putting in the work every day this month to the best of my ability. I have a plan to get into the 170s and then spend a couple weeks eating maintenance calories so I just really want to get there!!! Hopefully the scale will be kind to me tomorrow.
Everyone have a great night!5 -
Since I hit a couple of milestones recently, I thought this would be a good time for a new before and after photo:
25 -
@KeriA I've found them helpful in keeping motivated. I am a person who needs some novelty in my routine.
@speyerj OMG!! Look at you! More importantly, how do you FEEL?
Water challenges...I know many are drinking half their weight in water/fluid oz. I've had bariatric surgery and there are restrictions on drinking/eating within a certain amount of time of one another. I can't drink anything 15 minutes before or 30 minutes after eating. Soup is out - that's eating and drinking at the same time. How is everyone getting their fluid in? Are you just drinking non-stop?3 -
Thank you everyone for your continued prayers. They mean a great deal to me, my family, and my community.
My #1 priority for today -- doing laundry for brother and his family, run errands for them, go to emergency distribution centers to pick up water, food, PPE, and any cleaning supplies available
The Plan: Take the day as it comes.5 -
@AlexandraFindsHerself1971 that is the worst! The same thing happened to use when we were house hunting. Then I sort of felt pushed to make an offer on the house we ended up buying and now I sort of wish we’d waited and kept looking. Don’t jump the gun like we did just cause you’re afraid it’ll get snatched up! Trust me on that.
@speyerj you look amazing!
@Rosie3579 wow. Huge NSV on that cupcake! I don’t know that I’d have been able to resist! Truthfully tomorrow my co worker is going to be bringing me in a donut and I’m totally smashing that!
@sharpdust Welcome back!
@torihudson6 That fear of getting on the scale is crazy real! Good thing you are though because I find if I don’t get on the scale I get more and more off track! Just remember whatever the scale reads it’s okay!4 -
@speyerj You are Awesome!! Very inspiring. And, look how you glow!!
@sweetirish I keep a glass in the bathroom just for me. It has a demarcation line on it that is exactly 8 oz. Every time I go into the bathroom, I drink one glass. I just started doing this a couple of weeks ago but it helped me get beyond 8 glasses a day. Since I'm drinking more, I'm in the bathroom more LOL ... so it's paying off!!
@Rosie3579 There's not a doubt in my mind that you'll be into the 70's very soon!!
@AlexandraFindsHerself1971 -- a little story. My daughter wants to relocate her home and business to be closer to where I live. She thought she found the perfect place; made an offer. Since she'd been looking for several months and this was easily in her price range and no one had made an offer on it for over 9 months, she was sure she'd get it. She didn't; someone overbid her and they bought it. I told her it was evidently not to be ... that the right place would come soon. During the flood, that place was completely destroyed and washed away. A very large blessing she did not get it. Sooooo --- maybe the perfect place for you and yours is one you'll find today!! If necessary, I'll take your cats until you find a place. I live in Michigan, have car, will travel to pick them up if need be. Hang in there!! Don't let the stresses undermine all the work you've done thus far.
@sharpdust welcome back!!
@KeriA I know what you mean about being off schedule. We can do this!!
@torihudson6 Thanks for your kind words. and, Hugs for encouragement. We can get back to our routines and schedules ... get back to healthier habits. Don't skip weigh-in; it's just a number. Take it as it is and just step forward to the next day with renewed determination!! You CAN do this!!
@MuttiNM Thank you for your prayers. I'm so inspired by your successes.
@changeforeverlj Thanks for your continued prayers. In my county alone, we have over 200 churches of every faith imaginable. In the middle of a pandemic, it has been truly humbling to see Muslims working along side Jewish folks, Amish along side Iranian, Indians (native Americans) joining work crews with Texans ... no religion, no race, no gender issues ... just neighbors helping neighbors.

Hi everyone!
@speyerj- you are awesome! Thanks for sharing your photos. You look so happy. Well done. You are an inspiration!
@cesse47 - hang in there. Better days are ahead and you're doing great. Make sure you take time for yourself, even if it's only a few minutes at the end of the day. I live in Michigan also, and the pictures of the flood damage are heartbreaking.
@orangequilt - you mentioned being anxious about losing weight, I think. A counselor told me a long time ago that sometimes we sabotage ourselves because we have a fear of succeeding. If we succeed, it means we have more responsibility but also makes us more vulnerable. And that can be scary. But, our faith has to be greater than our fear. So stay the course.
Anyway, that's it for me. I'm trying to drink more water, but not walking outside at all, as it's so hot and humid. I'm logging my food, but actually GAINED a pound. Discouraging. So going to cut back on nighttime carbs, due to stress and anxiety. And plan to do some de-cluttering today.
I want to share a couple quotes:
1. You haven't come this far to only come this far.
2. When you get discouraged, remember why you started.
3. When you get tired, rest but don't quit.
Ok then ladies, be kind to yourselves and let's keep moving forward.6 -
You all are truly inspiring. Thank you for letting my glimpse into your lives.
My first day of PTO was a bust. Upper Management decided to put me in the middle of a misunderstanding and I spent all morning in a conference call.
And then I got the call that I had to let go of one of my junior members. A transgression his last year of college (which he did disclose at time of hiring) caused the customer to deny his security clearance after we’ve been waiting since November on. Poor kid was crushed since this is his first job. Mama Bear in me wanted to hug him and soothe him. With COVID, that wasn’t possible and it had to be done via phone.
So I am back on PTO watching Texas Flip n Move walking during the auction parts...7 -
@duebedm, that sounds rough, I’m sorry. I hope the rest of the week/weekend is better. And thank you for letting us glimpse into yours!
@finngirl61, thank you for sharing the quotes. I love quotes, I’d hang them all over my house if I could.
@cesse47, thank you so much for the positive words. Brought a smile to my face. We just have to keep pushing forward!
@procolorer, yes, I feel the same. Because then I adapt the mentality of “well, I’ll just keep pushing it off”.
@speyerj, wow! What a difference, you look amazing.
@AlexandraFindsHerself1971, sending you hugs. Moving is unbelievably stressful, especially in times like this.
@sharpdust, welcome back! You ran across my mind just a few days ago, I was wondering how you had been.
@KeriA, same for me. I’m hoping to refocus this weekend and really get back to the schedule I know worked for me. Hope the same for you!
Thank you everyone for all the lovely words and virtual hugs. This community always brings a smile to my face.4 -
I guess this is a not quite Friday Check-in.
Name: Keri
67 years old, Height: 5'6"
SW: 266 lbs

3/1: 261.8 lbs
4/1: 258
Lowest April weight: 253.8
May SW: 254
5/9: 253.6
5/22: 252.8
5/23: 252.2
CW: 251.4 (5/28)
GW: Onderland 1st, maintain for a few weeks then 150 lbs.
May Goal weight: 249 will probably not make this but I want to get under 250 soon.
My May Goals are:
1. Get enough sleep and improve water intake Didn't do as well at this last weekend (it was a 4 day for me) but did great yesterday.
2. Log weight, food and exercise and stay under calorie goal ✔
3. Get some exercise 6 days a week and up NEAT clean. Try to exceed 150 minutes of exercise a week. I haven't done well with this the last couple of weeks but yesterday I did great.
4. Get into the 240s this means my highs and lows get and stay below 255 Hope to make it to 250 at least?
5. Make healthy meals at home. ✔
6. Each week do a SKS feedback on what is working and what isn’t look into what food journaling might look like. maybe today Not really doing this formally but I do think about this and make adjustments when needed.
I am concentrating on getting back into my routine the last half of this week. Yesterday with no distractions, was a great day and a great start to the rest of my time sheltering at home:- I got enough sleep
- I got all my water.
- I did my weekly at home exercise routine with weight training, cardio and stretching
- I completed the Chapter I started earlier in the week
- I stayed under my calorie goal even with celebrating this weekend. My baby is 26!
- continued to log and checked in here
Today I plan to do a whole chapter. I will have only 2 more to go next week if I follow my plan. I plan to get on the Gazelle a couple times today since my feet hurt if I am on too long. We have some leftover yummy healthy soup and potato salad for dinner. I am also planning to follow my strategy of drinking a glass of water every hour until I pour my 8th glass.
As to feet hurting I was having trouble with pain in my right foot. I decided it was from being home all day and going barefoot on hardwood flours. I always slip on my crocs now and put on my Brooks for exercise. I think I caught it in time to keep it from being a chronic issue. Another unforeseen consequence of living in the time of pandemic. This wasn't a problem when I worked full-time in the office. I will come back and read and reply to posts later. Have a nice rest of your day.

@speyerj wow you look amazing! So much hard work paying off. You inspire me
@torihudson6 I have also had a rough time but feel in a better place to balance different parts of life as well. Glad to be back and have my head in the game once again.
@sweetirish right now I am just focusing on drinking more water than I have currently being drinking. I have heard that saying of drinking half your weight in ounces as well but any bit more you can drink is a plus.
Thanks @cesse47 & @procolorer
Happy to see familiar faces and also many new ones
I have started using an app “Productive” which is like a habit building app. I am trying to shift my focus from my weight to my habits. I am still weighing myself and using that as a measurement of progress but ultimately the daily goal is making sure I complete all my habits. Its very similar to what a lot of us are currently doing or have done in the past.
I like the app as a daily check because I may not always find time to post here about it or may lose track of what I did, so I like it as tool for accountability.
My current habits:
1) Logging all meals (extra credit if I can keep it under calorie goal)
2) minimum 20min exercise daily (anything, walk, home workout, hike, etc)
3) drink at least 8 glasses water (these are 12 oz glasses)
4) meditate (minimum 5 minutes, using another app)
5) eating window 11am-7pm (intermittent fasting)
6) cook homemade meals Sun-Thur (I still want to eat out but make eating out a lot less common)
Its simple, either you did the habit or you didn’t. They are all independent of one another so just because you may not complete one habit doesn’t take away that you did complete the other habits. I am guilty of trying to do too much and even thought there are 6 habits, I feel like they build off one another and are things I can manage.12 -
I wish I had time to respond to everyone. But @speyerj - wow!!! You look so amazing and strong. So impressed with all the work you have done!!7
-
Earlier this week I was giving someone advice here to not wait for motivation. I had to give myself that advice today! Just totally let the day get away from me as is so easy to happen when I have my “work from home” day. Didn’t pre-log my food and then ended up eating over my maintenance. Didn’t want to work out. But I finally made the effort to get out for my run this evening. It was not the best. I probably gave it a 50% effort. I was kind of mad at myself for “failing” today. But, you know what, at least I gave it 50%!!! I could have chosen to sit on the couch and not make an effort at all. So instead of feeling disappointed in myself, I am choosing to feel good about this day! Hope you all have a great night.12

Well, we found a house! It's a lovely 4 bedroom/2 bath in a nice suburb, with everything we want just around the corner, and with a lovely large sunroom for us all to enjoy as well as a nice-sized back yard. We'll close in late June, and probably move somewhere round the first or second weekend in July. It's really good. They accepted our offer and we signed the purchase agreement tonight, so now it's just getting the inspection done to be sure, and then waiting for closing. We have to close on the sale of our current house to have the money to buy this one, and the people in our new house have to find somewhere to go, but I believe it will all work out, and I can't wait to paint and polish and figure out where all my pretty antiques go. My grown sons said they'd come help paint, so that will make it all pretty straightforward.
Now I can drop my calories back to their former level and relax. I'm not worried about moving; I'm an extremely organized person, and my partners have put me in charge of the packing and unpacking. We will board the cats for about five days so that we don't zip Nyx up in the mattress cover or pack Hana in with the plates, and so that we can get a space all set and ready for them before they come to the new house. I think that's the least stressful all round for them.
It's been stressful finding it, but now that that stress is off, I can just enjoy the effects of the extra physical work and hopefully the scale will move. It's been stuck for a month.

As to feet hurting, I only walk barefoot from my bed to the bathroom in the morning. I have pretty bad arthritis in the one foot due to a car accident in my 20's, when they rebuilt my tarsometatarsal joints. But the thing that makes me stay in shoes is that I have a quarter inch leg length difference, and that causes me debilitating one-sided lower back pain if I don't wear either a built up shoe or a lift. So I keep my shoes on, and it helps. Of course, I'm also wearing men's orthopedic shoes, because the last is bigger and more comfortable for the developing arthritis in my toes.6
-
@speyerj Wow Jane, such an amazing transformation! You look beautiful! I feel inspired when I see the pics people post, hard work and discipline over a long period pays off!6
-
@ AlexandraFindsHerself1971 Congratulations! That's exciting, you have a busy month ahead! My grandfather wore a built-up shoe, he fell off a swing when he was little and that damaged his hip, he suffered in silence over so many years (medicine wasn't as advanced) So I hope you get the help you need!!4

GOALS:
🏵️ Lose 5 lbs. I think it's safe to say ⛔. But it is alright, any loss is progress, and I'm lucky that my mindless eating off the kids' plates has only done this much.
🏵️ Log everything in grams. ⛔
🏵️ No more than 20% calories from treats every day. ✅
🏵️ Move every day. ⛔ RAINNNNN! *shakes fist*
🏵️ Drink more water. ✅
🏵️Be kind to myself. ✅ I'm still taking this as a learning experience. I'm learning that I want things, but then don't want to eat them- but then end up eating things I don't even want. (Like, I want cookies, don't want to eat them, then end up eating the crackers left on my kid's plate instead. The problem comes in that I've been wanting cookies, ice cream, etc every day, and not eating those things, but still noshing enough from plates to stall weight loss. I have just eaten a cookie, for example, but then I just want more cookies. It's rough.)
🏵️ Treat myself in other ways than food. ✅ I've been keeping a skincare routine very well. I've got this great overnight mask that smells like watermelon jolly ranchers I get to put on 3x a week. I finished 3/4 christmas stockings, ran out of yarn. So I cast on a new thing, a variegated blue summer top with ice blue lace inserts on the sides. I've also been playing games on my computer and binge-listening my favorite podcasts.
🏵️ Reduce sodium intake ✅
Goals overall: ⛔⛔✅⛔✅✅✅✅
I've been terrible about exercise. I usually love running, but I'm not feeling it right now. I just need to schedule exercise time, and do anything exercise-like that sounds good, but must be exercise. Biking, zumba videos, even just walking. Yoga. Something. It will be a goal for June.
What will also be a goal for June is to find the right numbers of calories for times throughout the day. I keep finding that I'm super hungry at 8, and again at 9, and again at 10, and then I'm good for a while, hungry at 3, and then after I finish dinner before 4 (Intermittent Fasting), I'm super full. I need to really load those calories in the morning. I've been trying, but not successful enough yet. I do find on the weekends that skipping lunch is a thing that I want to do (I love breakfast and dinner)- I need to evaluate the need for that mid-day meal, if I've been eating enough otherwise. All this to find a way to make this as easy on me as possible. If I find that I'm not hungry for lunch most of the time, hell, have a big breakfast and a reasonable dinner. Problem solved. I'll play with it.
What worked this month: sodium intake. That worked. Also water. As well as treating myself not food wise and being kind, those stay. For good.
I've been pondering what I use as a goal weight for June. Libra tells me that this month, I've lost an average of 0.6 lb/week. So I went to edit my goals in my MFP diary, and found that in order to lose a pound a week, I need to be down to 1440 cal/day as opposed to the 1600 I had. Which tracks with what I've been seeing on the scale. So now, it's time to choose: do I go for 1440 for that 1 lb/week, or do I keep 1600 and accept slower loss?
I think June will be the experiment for 1440, eating back half exercise calories. It'll be an extra incentive to exercise, and I'll see if I can sustain it for the month of June. If not, it's not a moral failing, it'll just take longer to lose weight at 1600, and that's fine. But I'm going to go for 1440 and see what shakes out.
On, to your wins!
@terytha I totally know what you mean about not wanting to eat these days. I hope it gets resolved for you soon, some way.
@torihudson6 I love your attitude. You're so positive about even your setbacks. It's very inspiring.
@sharpdust WELCOME BACK!
@speyerj you are just rocking it. You look so much younger, too! We stan a legend.
@KeriA I haven't made any progress on actually doing yoga yet, lol Hopefully it gets seen in my Dedicated Workout Time. And my four year old really would love it.
@orangequilt glad you're feeling better!
@procolorer I get this about exercise calories. Once you have enough data, you can figure out how much your apple watch is off by, based on your rate of loss.
@sweetirish you're doing great
@cesse47 I've been thinking of you. Glad things are getting a little better.
@muttinm your continued success is inspirational. I love a good walking trail.
@AlexandraFindsHerself1971 with all the stress in the air PLUS buying a house, you've got a lot going on. But you seem to be handling very well.
@rosie3579 Oooh, lemon is my favorite, too. But I'm not feeling cupcakes, so maybe I'm feeling like you! Congratulations on seeing the 170's! So close!
@finngirl61 This is great. I have to keep this one in the back pocket.finngirl61 wrote: »...
1. You haven't come this far to only come this far.

@duebedm sounds like a rough day at work. Apologies. I hate that kind of thing, too.
Today is homemade pizza day, although I don't really feel like partaking! I'll still make it for everyone else, and make my tuna/cottage cheese concoction. I'm looking forward to a ham and cheese omlette I've got planned for this morning/early afternoon. I'll go ahead and move my calories to 1440 today, too. I'm anxious to get the scale moving a little quicker.
Have a great day, everyone!7
