Heather I get it. So much anticipation and emotion overwhelms your defenses. I hope you made a plan with your son and his wife for when the next visit is. That used to help me hugely in the last few years my mother was alive when I was jealous of every minute I could spend with her. If I knew when the next time was, I could immediately start looking forward to it. (((Hugs)))

SuziQ I will protect my hands and arms when I emancipate the baby bromeliad from its mother. Thanks for the tip.

Athena Rose on the beach. so adorable!

Faye Welcome! I'm 65, early bird, still working, mother of Yorkies.

Brick and mortar work shift today was long and hard, but now it's over. People had been waiting waiting waiting for me to come back and had to wait a long time to see me. I was stunned at how busy our drive through C-19 testing tent in the parking lot was. I didn't realize.

For some reason my dogs are yodeling at me. LOL!!!

Heather: I envy your proximity to your grandchildren. Your search for a home nearby was/is brilliant. Enjoy!

Nice! Yes the Peter Iredale wreck.💖. We used to live literally 5 minutes drive from there in Hammond, Oregon. My middle son and family were visiting, but unfortunately we now live in Washington state!😣 Life is ever changing ! Nice to meet you Faye!

Katla – we recycle a lot here. We don’t get money for it. I tell you, they only pick up the recyclables every two weeks and the garbage every week. Very seldom do I even bother putting out the garbage on the week they don’t pick up the recyclables. And that week our recycling container is usually full, there have been times when I’ve needed to borrow the neighbor’s can, but the garbage is only ½ full. Another soup kitchen (not the one I volunteer at) takes the empty egg cartons.

Really scrubbed the floor in our hallway. For some reason, the floor felt “gritty”. Then made the bed in the back bedroom and vacuumed it. I tell you, with Jess here, she isn’t exactly the cleanest person. On her body, yes. But on the floor – no. Well, I’ll just wait tell she leaves to do a real thorough cleaning. I just got the floor clean enough. If when people go from Idaho to your state they don’t wear a mask, I’m thinking that they don’t in Idaho. Do you know the statistics there? Jess is in Idaho right now

Went to the bowling alley. Not sure what Vince wanted to see. Then the ATM, then CVS to use my raincheck to get Cheerios, then PetSmart, then Hallmark so Vince could return something, then home. The blue ray was returned. Went in the pool

Della – an avid exerciser at 69? What an accomplishment.

    – congrats to your daughter. I know you are so very proud

Vince said he thinks there will be a vaccine for this by December. I’m usually the optimistic person, but I really question it. It would be nice, but I don’t know and I’m not about to plan on it.

    Carol, congrats to your daughter-in-law.

My daughter teaches at a private kindergarten in the Atlanta area. She found out today that her children in public school are beginning the year virtually but her private pre-K/K school will open face to face. According to her text, Her husband spent the day shopping for laptops and planning everybody’s work at home space. While she spent the day crying. I’m sure she was mostly kidding about the crying, but nevertheless her husband is indeed super dad.

Michelle, when your friend said the Y bathrooms were closed, maybe she just meant the shower facilities. That would make sense.

Happy News for DnL...She received her Specialist Degree today. Next will be her PHD.

Went to the ENT doc today and that was a painful experience. Didn't like having strange lights invading my nose and strange liquids testing for WHAT? Gave me a lot of meds and I will go back for a hearing test and followup in two weeks. Hope the prednisone works among the other meds.

They didn't use liquids with me, but I had three ENT surgeons in three different appointments use some sort of metal spreader to open my nostrils and then lights and cameras and things went in. And that was just in the diagnostic phase.

Machka you describe my symptoms exactly. Guess I should look into it and my insurance to see if I can breath and sleep better too! Sleep, allergies, choking at night, sinus infection and headaches; you described my problems exactly! Hope my insurance will pay for it here in US!

I started this adventure on the public system and was on a wait list for 5 years to see an ENT surgeon!!!

In that time, I got health insurance so I could go private, but my husband's situation happened so it wasn't a priority ... and 5 years passed.

So my first appointment with a public ENT surgeon was earlier this year.

Then I went for an MRI or CT scan (can't remember right now) and it was followed up by a different public ENT surgeon.

At that time I was told that I could go on the surgery wait list and this would probably take place in a year or two, or I could go private.

I had the private insurance so I went private, saw a private ENT surgeon ... would have had this earlier but C19 intervened and had it now instead. :)

Going private meant that I had to pay the $500 gap/excess or whatever but I had it done in a nice small private hospital, and stayed in a private room. :)

Oh and today is the first day without my "moustache" ... after the surgery, you wear a gauze band under your nose, across your upper lip, for several days to catch the drips.

I have to say ... this is a "messy" surgery. Not mine specifically but the septoplasty in general. I'm dribbling and rinsing and cleaning all day.
