@mari_moulin I struggle with drinking 8 cups of water but I'm slowly starting to make it a habit. I've never been thirsty enough to drink so much water.

Last week, I was dehydrated for a few days so I had to start chugging down the 8 cups (aka 4 - 16 oz water bottles) along with some Pedialyte. All of this water has really helped with my TMI bathroom visits.

I was previously having 4 cups with an extra 4 in tea or coffee but it's not the same.

    MFP start weight Oct 28.18 - 191
June goal was 146.7 - Actual end weight 148.1
July goal 143.4 (realistically I would be happy with 147.1 since I normally only lose one pound per month)
    Ultimate goal: 112-115 - Age 59, height 5'2"

Wednesday July 01 - 148.4 - Up just a titch from June EW, but really pleased to be starting the month in the 140s for the first time.
Thursday July 02 149.4 - Eh? Not sure why I would gain a pound in one day, not doing anything differently. Staying on track and hoping to see it lower tomorrow. I am never happy with fluctuations, you would think that I would be used to it by now! Very long work day, didn't get home to start making dinner until very late.
Friday July 03 - 149.2 - I am off of work today, so can get more workouts in and eat well. Another .2 off tomorrow would be great.
Saturday July 04 - 149.1 - Late dinner 2 nights in a row, I need to change that.
    Sunday July 05 - 149.1 - I expected a gain because I partied yesterday - it might catch up i a few days, but I hope not!
    Monday July 06 - 149.3
Tuesday July 07 - 149.1 - Happy to be staying in the 140s so far this month even if I am still one pound up from my June EW. Being at the higher end of the 140s is precarious, so I hope to get down to an area where I have a bit of a cushion if I feel like eating like a normal person for a meal or a day.
Wednesday July 08 - 149.4 - No reason for the gain, staying diligent.
    Thursday July 09 - 148.4 - Slept in weight.
Friday July 10 - 148.7 - So far this month no forays back into the 150s. I hope to keep that up for the entire month. I am still up from June's EW and haven't touched that number yet this month. I will try to.
    Saturday July 11 - 148.8
Sunday July 12 - 150.1 - 4am weigh in instead of 9am. Expecting (hoping) this is just due to weighing 5 hours early.
    Monday July 13 - 149.1 - 7am weigh in
Tuesday July 14 - 148.7 - Okay. Now to get to June EW, or at least July start weight. Working on it.
Wednesday July 15 - 148.4 - Back to my beginning of the month start weight. Next goal to get to June's EW.
Thursday July 16 - 148.3 - How great it would be to lose 0.1 of a pound consistently for 10 days netting me another 1 pound loss. Staying diligent.
Friday July 17 - 148.3 - Maybe I will get to see the 147s one of these days. This weekend will be a test because I have 2 bbqs and a lunch to attend (I don't normally eat lunch). Hoping that I don't gain too much, it is too hard to lose.
Saturday July 18 - 148.1 - Surprised I didn't gain, but it could catch up to me. We'll see.
Sunday July 19 - 148.5 - I loosened up a bit over the weekend. Time to tighten the reins.
Monday July 20 - 149.8 - There it is, the weekend catching up with me. I will work very hard to bring this back down.
Tuesday July 21 - 147.4 - New low, hope that I can stick somewhere around that number for awhile.
Wednesday July 22- 147.0 - Wow, 0.4 loss in one day? Almost couldn't believe it, but am so happy. I am not doing anything differently, tracking, measuring portions, working out.
Thursday July 23 - 146.1 - A woosh that has been in the making since January? Scale needing a battery change? Like I just don't normally lose much more than a pound per month. Hmm.
Friday July 24 - 146.8 - I had Ribs and cocktails last night, my weight might go up higher still, but going to work at getting it off. Might have been worth it, my monthly Ribs feed.
Saturday July 25 - 147.7 - Oh well. I have touched those 146s now and want to get back there. Nose to the grindstone.
    Monday July 27 - 147.7
Tuesday July 28 - 147.3 - 3 more weigh days to hopefully hit those 146s again before the end of the month.
Wednesday July 29 - 145.6 - Yipee! Newest low. I imagine that I won't stay at this weight, but if I hit it once I can get back there. I went back to bed for 2 hours early this morning, so got this nice low number when I got up.
Thursday July 30 - 144.5 - Another going back to bed day until 9am. Really making up for the lack of a drop when I was ice skating so much and not losing any weight...I guess? I will be nice to go into the weekend with a bit of a buffer, bbqs, cocktails, and other high calorie stuff planned. Holding tight to finish out this month well. Lol, I will try to go back to bed tomorrow morning too.
Friday July 31 - 145.0 - The long weekend has started here, going to try my best to not derail.

3.4 pounds lost this month - so much better than my usual 1 pound loss. If I could keep up this pace I would be at my goal weight within a year.

Good job this month of keeping accountable everyone.

Monday August 03 - 147.7 - Ouch - Too easy to gain. I still had calories in the "green" but had a few cocktails over the weekend which always spells disaster. I will dust myself off and keep going.
Tuesday August 04 - 146.4 - Also parking here until the August thread.
Wednesday August 05 - 145.8 - Need to get back to July's end weight.
Thursday August 06 - 145.8 - I was glad not to have gained, I had a few cocktails and a homemade Naan pizza yesterday. I had a double workout though in the morning (Zumba to loosen up and then HIIT with weights) so that likely saved me.

I really don't like water, and it bloats me immediately. I do try to get it in though, and I also make a giant glass dispenser that I keep in the fridge with: ginger, lemons, cucumbers, and mint from my garden.
I try to drink a litre of filtered water and then pour out 1/2 litre of my "super water" into a measuring cup which is a little easier to drink.
Do y'all think that we really need all of that water? Does science support this?
Seriously, I would be happy with only 2 cups (1/2 litre) for the day.

I’m not a scientist so I don’t know all the facts BUT I do know from personal experience that when I drink more than 2L Of water a day I do better with weight loss. As soon as I slack on it my weight loss slows or stops completely.

I'm no scientist either but it is helping tremendously with my constipation - going #2 hurts a lot less now and I go more frequently. I'd previously go #2 every 3-4 days. Since Sunday, I've gone 4, maybe 5 times - almost daily. It's crazy how much difference 8 cups of water makes for me.

After 2 years and 8 months of hard work, I met my ultimate weight loss goal on 7/31/2020.

Overall Loss from Nov 2017 to July 2020: 38.2 lbs

What's next? Maintenance, muscle gain and toning my stomach.

MFP Starting Weight: 140 lbs - February 2011
Current Starting Weight: 147.4 lbs - November 2017
    August Starting Weight: 109.2 lbs
    August Maintenance Goal: 110 lbs
    New BF Goal: 26%
    Height: 5 ft
    Age: 31

    Ultimate Goal: 110 lbs ✅
    Maintenance Goal: 108 to 113 lbs ✅

    Weigh-In Days: Monday and Friday

    August 3: 109.6 ... 29% BF
    August 7: 110.6 ... yesterday: 11k steps, 1651 cals in, 1701 cals burned, 106g protein, 192g carbs, 53g fat ... 1k calorie dinner 😬

I've been eating at maintenance a little too well. MFP set maintenance (with no exercise) at 1400 cals which might be low but in either case, my calorie avg this week is 1638. I'll work on finding a good medium.
I'm already noticing that I am eating one too many bad snacks after dinner. I need to tone it down. I'm very happy that I'm hitting personal protein goals of 100g or more.
