    **Keto Seed Porridge ~ 1 serving
    5.2 net carbs ~ 333 calories

    ~1/4 tsp madagascar bourbon vanilla bean paste
    ~1 TB hemp seeds

    70 year old female...5'5" ...I used to be 5'7" but arthritis hit and I lost two inches, so now that two inches is squished around my waist like the billows of a big accordion... :D...Oh, well. I'll just keep working on it.

    We used to walk 5 miles a day. Recovered from back surgery then hip surgery!! Got back to walking then I sprained my ankle. UGH! hurt! I was down for 6 weeks with the ankle.

    The Shelter in Place has everyone freaked. We need to remain calm and respectful of each other.

    I've done this before, successfully; I know that it can be done. My challenge is ignoring a hurting body, and/or not getting up and moving-because *that* is more comfortable. I want ME back. Oh, and I also signed up for a virtual 5k today (to be completed in Sept) and I'm doing a *live* 5k in Dec. If I don't want to be thoroughly embarrassed, guess I'd better move my bum!

    JUST GIVE ME 10 DAYS ~|~ Round 123 (round 55 for me ) I'm in for another round (as always!) โ€“ I need to just keep going! As always, thank you @GrandmaJackie such a champion particularly in these unprecedented & unsettled times, helping keep some stability in our lives, for setting up these challenges.

    Female age 62 5' 4โ€ - Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and have gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then; I don't want to gain any more, but would like to get back to my goal weight โ€“ I'm working at it โ€“ it's a permanent way of life !

    Goal for this round โ€“ Bathroom being refurbished and is almost finished before they move on to the downstairs cloakroom. Miles are more of a challenge to achieve whilst the workmen are here, but I'm trying to get an hour or so in before they arrive and then some in the evening around commitments with MIL care. Stick with good habits: be mindful of what I eat & drink, keep walking, no binges, really want to keep the 10 days binge free again!

I'm happy with that; 1.8 pounds lost from the end of last round โ€“ I was aiming for the 2 pounds from the last round but 1, but as last round I lost 0.2 that makes the 2 pound !! So inwards and upwards they say, here it should be onwards and downwards !! See you all in the next round. (DGS still doing well.)

    8/15- 159 thatโ€™โ€™s a nice drop, letโ€™s see how much it bounces. I just realized I should take my measurements. In the past those numbers have gotten me through some really frustrating plateaus.

    Looking forward:
    I'm just too danged cussed to let this thing knock me back, and ruin all the effort I have put in to get here. I am stepping up my routine, and taking control. Sheltering in place means I can fully concentrate on getting in my exercise, and preparing healthy food.
    August focus: improving stamina, strength, flexibility, which may impact the scale
    Aims:
    2020 Focus:
    • Stabilise weight around 145
    • Strengthen strategies to reframe the tendency to use unhealthy snack food as a reward/treat.
    • Make sure I have prepared healthy snacks available
    • Cut down on eating between meals by keeping busy

    2018 goal: get back down to 160 โœ…
    2019 goal: proceed down to 150 โœ… with 2 months to spare
    2020 goal: maintain below 150 dropping slowly down to 145 โœ… Working on it. Strength training has slowed progress, but thatโ€™s okay.
    That's a WIN in my book!

    THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
    REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.
    • Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
    • A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
    • Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
    • The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
    • Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
    • The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
    • When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
    • Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.
    Stick with the process. It DOES work! But it does take time, effort, and most of all, patience!

    08/15: 286.6 / am going to fast until this evening as I have a heavy night out tonight. If the weather stays dry (doubtful right now) I'm going to my first karaoke in months outside. Im really looking forward to it. I've made the change from beer to white rum and diet coke so will save a lot of calories there, but expecting weight to jump up tomorrow due to water based on having a meal out.
