Looking for a few accountability partners to join me in a Sober October, an annual tradition, to kick off my healthy diet re-launch and get up and running towards my goal of dropping 25 Lbs

Rooting for you!
Back in the 90's, I changed my relationship with alcohol with a few Smart Recovery and Rational Recovery meetings. I can now drink moderately, which for me is really barely at all - I think I've had 2.5 drinks this year.
When I drink, I eat more, and my sleep is disrupted, so the next day I eat more as well. Just a terrible combo for me when I'm trying to lose weight.12 -
Yeah my relationship with alcohol has been a challenging one but as health becomes a bigger priority for me once again, it’s easier to make better decisions. Thanks for the insight and support!8

I had a Sober September and let me tell you, it was tough!!! But I'm thinking about a Sober October too! No weight to lose but I like the challenge aspect of making myself suffer a little bit, I guess. Regardless of whether I partipate or not, I'll be happy to cheer you on!!!9

Was two years and counting as of August this year so I guess I’ll join for the month of October as well. I basically started on a whim and it was only supposed to be temporary but I’ve loved the long term benefits so much I have kept it up. Didn’t even have a drink on my wedding day this year (we served alcohol to our 15 guests though (was supposed to be 100 but you know some things happened).10

Great idea. I feel so much better and less bloated when I don't drink. I challenge myself to no booze on random weeks. Not sure I could do an entire month especially with our Thanksgiving in there....but what a fun challenge4

A little accountability and support and I’m sure you could do a month or even longer! Small progress is still progress- that’s all that matters👏

I was doing really well, but the stress of quarantine got me back to the nightly wine routine. I'm down for Sober October.5

Day 1 is a challenging one over here in the Netherlands- rainy, gloomy, and a challenging work day but I am embracing it! Heading out for an evening run to play in the rain 🌧 ☔️ 🏃 good luck and stay strong everyone!5

Day 2 in the books- thank god for NA beer to make it past Friday night 🍺 Looking forward to a good nights sleep and a long training run in the morning! 👍🏻4

I am in sober October survived friday saturday sunday nights normally have more than a few beers.
Wasn't a big struggle i just made sure i had none in the house but went to bed early which i never do !
Been doing loads of cycling , running but no weight loss recently even though i am under the calories given
hopefully drop some in October

One of my greatest reliefs is that I do not drink alcohol any more and haven't for over 10 years, so not something I have to cope with giving up.
Not adverse to the odd glass of wine at a function but routinely I got fed up with having a drink meaning I just ended up sitting and watching the telly, feeling a bit sleepy, so got nothing done.
My life is hugely better for it, my only demons now being chocolate and cheese.4 -

Thirty six consecutive alcohol free days but I'm going camping over the weekend and I don't foresee Sober October existing for me after that point... I just want to be honest. Big hugs to all of you lovely people hanging in there 💗...5

Nearly a week now still hanging in typically October is a 5 weekend month lol
Weight up and down but hopeful in few days i will have lost a pound or six2 -
Traveling in Poland for work now and it’s TOUGH given the amazing food, beer, and vodka out here, but I’m holding my own and staying strong 💪 keep it up everyone!4

Well i made it to 3 weeks so far only 9 days to go strange thing is I haven't lost any weight despite staying well under 1500 calories daily and exercising vigorously for 45mins to 2 hours most days.
