Yeah it wasn’t fun to drive in last night. Could only go about 40 tops on the intestate. Took me over an hour to get home last night.🤣
@balanc41 do you have snow tires? This reminds me I should make an appt to get mine put on0 -

Speaking of that, I'm still pondering @Diatonic12 's comment, about it being homey and pleasant here. That's probably being we're all boring old farts here, being middle aged and all that.
My daughter nearly baked me a carrot cake (assignment in school, but it was optional), however when she realised there's actual carrot in carrot cake, she bailed.
Sensible girl. Don't waste your pudding on veg!1 -

@AliNouveau - that sounds delicious. I don't think anyone around here offers meal kits. Are they like those mail order-all the ingredients and directions included you do the cooking meals?
@cgrout78 - good homemade mac and cheese is definitely one of those comfort foods that I'll splurge on!
@forestfreek - I'm glad I found this group for the same reasons you mentioned. Kinda prefer to keep my fitness and Tinder goals separate 😂 (JK!)
So this kit comes with steaks or ribs, I chose steaks. It's for two people so you get two twice baked potatoes which you just reheat in the oven, asparagus, bread, salad and cheesecake. I added another dessert that is their classic signature dessert and a bottle of wine. We always figure these restaurants are trying to might as well bulk up the bill. They give you step by step directions for everything. They even give a little container of oil and salt and pepper, a container of steak spice and salad dressing. I'll post a pic when I get it tomorrow. I really enjoy cooking but these kits are kind of fun. I got a grocery store one the other day
Steak seems risky as it's easy to f*&k up if you're not a confident cook though and then you've probably spent quite a bit! I'm a vegetarian but I occasionally make them for my husband and I spend the entire time staring at it willing it to not overcook0 -

I live in the UK. It literally snows every year and every year people look into the sky in confusion and then the trains stop working. Every year. Every damn year.
We had to get salt/grit airlifted in from other better prepared countries in the past.2 -
And it's teeny tiny barely there snow btw. And still.1

Copy. Copy that. @forestfreek0

Well, I'm a little past middle age, but sure would like to have a new friend or two on here to help along the way---total noob!3

Hahah get a meet thermometer. It'll make it perfect every time. I used my meet thermometer more for testing the doneness of bread though. Hmmmm2 -
Hi, just coming back to MFP, would love to add some friends as I have none! Age 47, from UK but live abroad, have 6kg to go to get into my BMI range that is my first goal. Started back just over 7 weeks ago and lost 6kg and now slowed down. I definitely see a difference in trying to lose at this age. Would love friends for motivation. I am on now a 52 day streak. Determined finally. Start Weight was 79kg Current Weight is 73kg, 1st Goal is 67kg and then I will progress from there!5

Sorry about your dog @WildColonialGirl losing a pet is really difficult. If you want to walk a dog (and do some good) you might have a program near you for helping people who can't walk their dogs because of terminal illness, old age or shielding concerns during Covid. Locally we have something called the Cinnamon trust who pair people to do this. If you google you'll probably find some "borrow my dog" pages local to you
I’m going to look into this. I volunteered in a shelter for a few years a long time ago. It was the highlight of my week. I was in an apartment and couldn’t have a dog.
One of our neighbors walks his two dogs with his cat following behind. I wish our cats (we have two) would be amenable to that.

Happy Friday 🤗3 -
Hooray for Friday!!!
Ever have crazy dreams? Apparently I'm the head of pasta promotion for my area and some crazy gun owner wanted to hire me for something. His manager had no clue what the job was either. So does anyone want to hear about pasta I'm a pro apparently2 -

ok, now I'm just hungry for pasta....LOL. I have had a few doozies the last few days, but I forget them about 5 minutes after I wake up.2 -
I have extremely explicit and “real” dreams nightly. Always have since I was a kid. I can feel pain in my dreams (I had a dream of being shot once and could feel the bullet actually going in, although with less pain than I’m sure one would experience in real life 😜), taste food and feel emotions.
Freud would have a hayday with me, I’m sure. Lol.5 -

I've certainly always been a promoter or pasta! My dreams are very very vivid, but I also have lucid dreams sometimes which are quite interesting. I look around and feel quite impressed with myself and what I can conjure out of nothing1 -
I don’t ever remember my dreams. No matter how hard I try.1

I have also had some very real dreams. Not nightly, but pretty frequently. I can say I've been shot, but I do sometimes fly (flapping my arms - it's a dream, it works there okay) and I can feel the exertion in my muscles1 -
I can remember dreams I had as a child! I have a very active dream life that I often seem to remember. Last night's was just bizarre. I even got up off a chair because someone sat too close and I was concerned about social distancing. I often dream these days I've forgotten to take a mask with me. I'm crazy when I sleep apparently2

Good morning! Weatherman is calling for snow. I know it happens every year but this is early for BC. Who has fun weekend plans ?1
