Successes/Struggles: Easy week. Finally had a chance to go hiking Saturday. It felt to so good to get out into the mountains. I won't hike by myself but because of Covid, it is difficult to get someone to go with. Went with my son in different cars, wore masks, and stayed 6 ft a part. Everyone else on the trail wore masks also. It was great.3 -

Success/Struggles: I always gain weight between Halloween and New Years. I had a lot of deaths in the family during that time, and used to say this was why. This is just an excuse for me to overeat, so I have to watch that, and see what it is.
I lost 30 pounds last year .. and met my goal in december of last year. I was able to maintain most of the year until around august ... the pounds slowly coming back on. One reason was covid, the other my husband was dx with cancer in january.
My husband will be OK .. and covid should not be an excuse either.
So today .. Nov 1st, trying to get back on track before I jump back up to 215 pounds again.6 -

I think I'm really starting to feel the struggles of COVID now. I'm also having a lot of stress from school. It's been a 2 year journey to lose 70lbs total, so having this backslide is a bit discouraging.3 -

Successes:
I’m maintaining weight right where I want it – after a summer with a lot of holidays and other eating out opportunities. I’ve maintained a good level of activity and exercise – cycling, walking, Youtube videos – in spite of not going to the gym since early March.
Struggles:
Cycling and walking has been less attractive as the weather has been wet and windy. England is just going back into “lockdown” again so the gym will close again just as I thought swimming would be an option when the weather was too wet for cycling. The government has given us an end date in early December but the reality could well be that the restrictions last well into the New Year.
Good luck and stay safe.

Lost to 81 kg at Easter 2020 (top of normal bmi for me), but then gained back to 88 kg in April/May (Easter egg binge; lock down closed the pool...).

Still losing, with 2.5 kg to go, but now in my maintenance range. Since I have lost and gained before (see above) I really want to plan for maintenance this time, so thought I would join this thread now. (I hope that is OK.)
After maintaining for a while at 75 kg, I may adjust my maintenance weight down to 72 kg (+/- 2.5), but I want to wait for a few months before making that decision.4 -

Success: Halloween didn't derail me even though I ate 2 cupcakes, 3 Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, a small Hershey bar, and super salty chicken w/rice soup.
Struggles: My pouchy belly. I don't know why but I thought being at 123 pounds that I would have a flat belly--but that is far from the truth! I'd like to work on that but I'm not really sure how to go about doing it without exercising on the floor (which is just a no-go in my book) or going to a gym (which not only make me unhappy, I couldn't go back to my gym now even if I wanted to because of Covid.2 -
@Kaitie9399 - I have the same issue and have a bad neck so don't like crunches and sit ups. I found this and have been trying them:

How long in maintenance: Since April 2016 - but gained 10 kg March-May 2020 after massive trauma combined with COVID-19.
Maintenance weight range: 65-75 kg (not sure what’s the right answer - been up and down in there numerous times in my life, apart from going way over 2010-2015).
I’d like to lose a bit to get back to 70 kg, but I’m still happy at around 75 kg.
I’m experimenting with seeing how my satiety levels are in relation to the types of foods I eat. Trying to eat more whole foods, which I’ve been getting pretty good at, and less sugar, and it’s going quite well.

Hi! My name is Kristen. And I struggle to maintain my weight. I have had great success losing/gaining, but I'm hoping this group helps me be more accountable. I weigh only 1x week on Sundays, so that's when I'll check in. My 2 goals in 2020 are to not let the scale go above 153 and weigh in EVERY Sunday for the WHOLE YEAR. This seems easy to most, but I get lazy and make excuses why I don't need to weigh in and then all of a sudden everything in my closet has shrunk. LOL

We had fun, but the weather was very rainy, more rain than we've ever seen in that area. I didn't come back with much of a tan 😢. Time to get back to my normal routine!
Hope everyone has a great week.

Success/Struggles: I missed this thread last week, but I found it today. Thanks for setting it up @beulah81!
Last week my Sunday weight was low, but the rest of the days it was up and the trend is good so I'm not worried. It was back to 113 this weekend which is about where I want it. I've started a new job and it is a larger office with more people. I was s little worried that there would be food temptations but so far it has been ok. There were donuts one day but I was able to work one in and one day a lady brought pumpkin bars. They were actually more tempting than the donuts but she also left copies of the recipe in the break room so I was able to figure out the calorie count. They were only 185 cals so I am thinking about making some over the holidays when the kids are here and I can share them. Logging my food really helps me to know what I have room for and what I don't and I can see where I need to adjust if I want something I wasn't planning on.
Yesterday I finally ran my Half Marathon that got postponed from the spring. It went really well. I was a little disappointed because 4 of us missed a turn and ended up running 13.5 miles. But even so I had a PR, was first overall female masters and 2 female overall. I was really proud of it. I'm planning to take this week as a recovery week so I may end up with more calories in than out this week, but I am on the low end of my range so as long as I don't go crazy it will be ok.4 -

Struggles for this week: Eating out SO much this week. We're working on the house to it's easy to just go grab Chick-fil-a (3 times this week!!) or Taco Bell because we were just to tired to cook--but at least the scale stayed put and I really do watch house many calories I'm eating.

Successes/Struggles:
Now that we are in lockdown again there will be no eating out, not even a coffee and cake. I’m in a “bubble” with my mum but apart from that I’m not supposed to meet anyone indoors, and it’s too cold to meet outdoors for long. Sitting with a takeaway coffee on a park bench doesn’t appeal.
I’m focusing on getting outdoors for exercise, cycling and walking – and gardening.
Hang on in there, stay safe.

Still losing, with 2.5 kg to go, but now in my maintenance range. Since I have lost and gained before (see above) I really want to plan for maintenance this time, so thought I would join this thread now. (I hope that is OK.)
After maintaining for a while at 75 kg, I may adjust my maintenance weight down to 72 kg (+/- 2.5), but I want to wait for a few months before making that decision.
Comment on this week:
Today's weight is above my maintenance range, and I am not sure what is going on. Last week I was comfortably below 77 kg (weighing after exercise), but this week I have been a bit above). I am still eating at a deficit which is meant to have me losing 1 kg per month, though for the past two months I have actually lost ca. 1.5 kg per month. I ate bove this two weekends ago: is this a delayed response by my body? It is also possible that my body is adjusting to my upping my rowing for a November challenge. Over the weekend I rowed 13km and walked 9km, which was quite a lot, though my practice is to eat back my exercise calories. Tuesday is my rest day and the day I weigh without exercising. I might be down again tomorrow after my rest day. We'll see...
On the plus side, my averages are still in my maintenance range, albeit towards the top.3 -

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: My weight is still trending a bit downwards, which is good, as I'm still aiming to get more towards the middle of my range (110-110.5ish). The small changes I've made since a couple of months ago to my steps goal and calorie estimating for restaurant meals seem to still be working. Based on Trendweight, I'm almost back down to where I was at the end of May/beginning of June, which was right before my weight kept increasing, and it's actually right around where I was in November/December 2019 before the holidays and before all of the pandemic fluctuations.0 -

Welcome, charmmeth! Nice to see yet another experienced weight-maintainer/monitor here. Good write-up!
My guesses are that your weight could be up because of hormones; or due to eating more carbs some days; or due to losing/regaining glycogen stores after/before exercising.1 -
LOL

Successes/Struggles: My company announced this week that we will continue to work at home until Summer of 2021. We haven't been in the office or seen anyone in person since March 13th. I enjoy working at home, but being a person who has worked in an office setting for 20 years, it's strange!
The state of our federal government is starting to give me anxiety. With Covid-19 cases, hospitalizations, and deaths rising I know we are heading for lockdowns again, but hope they have enough sense to inforce them only in areas that need it. Things were feeling a lot more back to normal and I fear we are heading backwards.
I hope the rest of you are doing well, safe and healthy.
Hope everyone has a great week.3 -

My guesses are that your weight could be up because of hormones; or due to eating more carbs some days; or due to losing/regaining glycogen stores after/before exercising.
I have been wondering about hormones too. I don't have a monthly cycle any more but I do seem to be having a fairly regular bump up in my weight at the beginning of the month. But the shifts due to changes in exercise also seem likely. My average for the month is currently down about 0.8 kg from last month, so I'm still losing. I'll wait for a bit longer and see what happens.1 -

Success/Struggles: My weight jumped up to 115.6 on Monday and stayed in that range all week. I know it was water weight. I was pretty sore after my half marathon last weekend. My trend even moved up to the 114 range. Today I had a big drop down to 112.6. I think I was a little dehydrated. But I fully expect my weight to settle back in the 113 range. So I guess my success is not letting the fluctuations get to me.3 -

Struggles: I usually log every day and weight myself once a day with Monday's the "official" weigh-in. This week I found my focus slipping, missed a few days, and weight is over goal by a bit. I know it isn't panic mode time but it is a symptom. This seem obsessive to some but it is important to me to keep my weight in a healthy range and eat correctly. It is what works. I have a friend that we check in weekly and I check in here. It makes a difference between a lb or two and 20 lbs or more. So this is a success as well as a struggle.
