Just Give Me 10 Days ~ Round 132

I have just not been focused enough over the last month. Weight up and down and no net loss. This round will be better.
OSW 88KG
RSW 63.35 kg
Target this round to lose anything
11/13 62.75kg which is much better than the random gains at the end of last round. Now to manage the weekend.
11/14 61.95kg it looks like the loss has finally caught up with me! Mindful, mindful, mindful. Its only 2 days in the weekend and I used to lose most at weekends.
11/15 62.35kg no problem. I know where is came from!
11/16 63.75kg hoping a temporary salty blip. Better than last Monday which is okay.
11/17 63.1kg still better than last week. Gym done and aerobics later... Hope that doesn't cause crazy weight gain like last
week.

JUST GIVE ME 10 DAYS ~|~ Round 132 (round 64 for me ) I'm in for another round – I still really need the accountability and stability! Yet again, thank you @GrandmaJackie a brilliant champion in these unprecedented & unsettled times, for continuing to set up these challenges.
Female age 62 5' 4” - Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and have gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then; I don't want to gain any more, but would like to get back to my goal weight – I'm working at it – it's a permanent way of life !
Challenge for this round (again) will be to get back into 132s. Stick with good habits; be mindful of what I eat & drink, keep walking, no binges, keeping the 10 days binge free makes such a difference!End of round 69 134.2 lbs

Day/Weight/Comment
11/13 - 132.8 - 9.87 miles walked yesterday, I incorporated the second run of C 2 5K, it was a repeat of Tuesdays, today should be a rest day, but I'd rather rest at the weekend so I'll do third training today – I feel OK, I can cope with two days on the trot ! (No pun intended!) 695 calories in credit.
11/14 – 132.8 - 9.82 miles walked yesterday including day 3 of C 2 5K so that's week 1 completed. Hips and knees are a little sore, but rest day today so I hope to manage my usual walk – weather permitting!! I did get out and do 5.5 miles first thing before the rain arrived, hope to be able to do another 3 or 4 later on if there is a dry window. 585 calories in credit.
11/15 – 133.4 – 10.46 miles walked yesterday, found my 5K route, yesterday afternoon walked it in 48 mins, so got a benchmark for it now. 525 calories in credit.
11/16 – 132.4 – 9.03 miles walked yesterday, incorporating day 1 of week 2 CP 2 5K, my 5K route took me 37 mins alternating running & walking. Supposed to be a rest day today, but as I feel fine I will continue with the next running day. 1192 calories in credit.
11/17 - 133 , 10.56 miles walked yesterday incorporating second run of week 2 of CP 2 5K, found the runs harder so will take the rest day today and just walk. Was also disappointed as seems I'm not as fast as first appeared!! Yesterday I downloaded a GPS APP to my phone to check the distance of the route I'd planned; turns out my fitbit lied to me; I'm 1K short, so I'll “find” that other 1K today on my walk by elongating the route a little!!

Day/Weight/Comment
11/13 181.0 I was afraid the Prednisone might have negated the good I did yesterday. So far it hasn't. Ate well on plan yesterday. I'm finding the more of just natural "whole foods" are a part of my day, the better off I am.
11/14 180.0 The extra movement from training for the Turkey Trot is really helping move me in the right direction and also to change my mindset. Thank you to those of you who are participating with me. I needed some camaraderie in this. Food choices were on point yesterday. Now to hold that trend for the weekend.
11/15 180.4 This must be sore muscles from yesterday’s push to 5K because I ate well within range. Probably didn’t drink enough water after though, so that could play in too. I was really hoping it would be into the 170s, but maybe tomorrow. Need to meal plan today and get to the grocery store and also get in another walk. I can’t tell you how much better I’m feeling now that I am active every day again. I think I’m working through (and past) some of the 2020 depression that made me into a couch potato.
11/16 180.8 I really think this must be the Prednisone I’m on. Food and exercise has been great. Might try to really push the water today and see if that has any effect (or will it just make the Prednisone make me hold even more water?) Who knows? Only 2 more days on this steroid pack, so hopefully the effects will get on out of here soon.
11/17 179.4 Yay! Finally back in the right direction. I’m pretty proud that I didn’t give up when the trend was going the right direction. I knew it was just my body being weird, either on its own or with the Prednisone. I kept doing what I know works, and it finally did! Now, can I stay here and end the round in the 170s? Time will tell.

11/13 Got in two walks at just normal pace. I had one knee which was really bothering me, so I didn't push the pace.
11/14 Did 1.74 mi in 30:28 but I had the dog with me. She slows me down. Then got on my exercise bike last night before bed for 7.56 miles in 32:24.Hoping to look for a 5K path at a park this morning. Will be pushing the stroller, but I can still measure. I know how I can do it in my neighborhood, but it would be fun to go elsewhere for the real deal.
11/15 Did my first 5K in a while yesterday. (Sorry the pic I posted last night was so HUGE. Won't be doing that again.)
Figured out a nice route by the lake and really pushed it. My time was 51:22 with an average pace of 16:33, so I’m really pretty pleased with that. I was alone, so I was able to really get into it and it felt fantastic!
11/16 Got in 3.2 miles yesterday but wasn't worried about pace. Had Hubby and the Pup with me for most of if. Another beautiful fall morning here in Tennessee.
11/17 Did a fast-ish (but with a stroller) walk yesterday of 2.75 miles. It’s amazing how heavy a baby in a stroller can feel going up hills!

11/15 – 114.2 Good morning everyone! Friday was a really busy day for me and yesterday I was exhausted because I woke up at 2 AM and couldn’t fall back to sleep, so I was delirious for most of the day yesterday. This past week I’ve also felt bloated and I’m just waiting for my friend to arrive soon. My stomach was being weird and not always working the way I wanted it to because of the hormone fluctuations despite taking daily magnesium. I have been able to stay on the right track with food for the most part. We’ve been getting lots of salad greens with our CSA, so I am able to have a huge salad with dinner each night.
Yesterday morning I made buttermilk pancakes from scratch and used white whole wheat flour instead of AP flour. They came out yummy and weren’t bad calorically either. Lunch was whole wheat pasta with cheese and because I was so tired by dinner I just had a large salad and then a cup of cottage cheese (26 g protein) with frozen berries and canned pineapple. Today for breakfast might be French toast with sauteed apples, I’m not sure about lunch and dinner will be pork tenderloin with bbq sauce or something more fall themed. I’m also thinking about making scalloped potatoes and roasted Romanesco to go with the pork.
Turkey trot progress: My husband and I did end up going for a walk yesterday clocking in at 4.5 miles and my feet feel good today afterwards. I might try adding in a couple jogs if I go for a walk by myself this week. My official plan for the actually turkey trot is to go for at least a 3.2 miles walk or jog Thanksgiving morning before we head to my in-laws house.
11/17 – Might try to weigh later this morning. Starting in January it will be easier to weigh every morning because my husband will be leaving for his clinical fieldwork each day versus trying to go back to sleep where I normally weigh myself. Food was good yesterday, I indulged my chocolate craving and made a chocolate protein cake plus a salad for breakfast, an apple for a snack and whole wheat pasta with veggies simmered in sauce with Italian sausage. I used carrots, peppers, onions, and spinach for veggies. The awesome part of it was that my husband really enjoyed it! I loved it too, but he normally doesn’t like sausage…so I was thrilled when he said it was yummy! I managed to get a spin bike workout in during lunch yesterday too!
I decided that if it's chilly on Thanksgiving my Turkey trot will be a trot on the spin bike11 -

Next overall goal is to get to 137.6, which is what I weighed 10/2/19. I think these smaller attainable goals are really helping.
Continuing with this plan for round 132: continue with daily tracking, staying under goal calories, and minimum of 20 min formal exercise/day (all from UAC challenge). I am also trying to do 90 minutes of planks, and 24 hours of formal exercise this November (24 hour and 60 minute plank challenges).
Previous goals: get under 150; get under 145 for my birthday (10/26); get to pre-COVID weight 142.4, get under 140 before thanksgiving.

Round 132 – starting weight 139.4
11/13 – 138.8 Another down. This is all good but not certain why I am losing more consistently than in early October. Exercise averages out the same and I am using the same goal calories to stay under. The only ideas I am having is that could I somehow be changing my base metabolism? I’m not sure how that works. Anyhow, I’ll take it while I can and I keep bracing myself for a plateau or a take back from my losses.
11/14 – 139.2 Given I had no ups the whole last round, I am almost relieved to see this. All good!
11/15 – 139.0 Got in another walk yesterday. Started by walking the route I mentioned last round, the night that I walked and jogged, so I now know its mileage correctly and have updated my other file where I keep all my exercise for the month. I then continued on for two more loops within my neighborhood (see below). Pace was not great, but I managed to multitask and caught up with my parents on the phone. I’ll just consider it more of a distance day. Next experiment is to figure out the difference in milage if I walk the inner sidewalk vs the outer sidewalk in the "loop". Yesterday was inner and the milage was less than I recalled from when I measured a couple years ago, so curious if the "old" number is the outer sidewalk.
11/16 – 138.6 Last night, I pushed for a walk/jog of the 5K. I liked that I improved, but this morning I have left hip and right knee pain, so I am not doing something right. I only plan to attempt the walk/jog once a week anyhow, so we’ll see how it calms down.
11/17 – 138.8 Scale this round is much more typical. Tracking and keeping under my calories continues to be good. Yesterday, just did basic walk to loosen up the stiff joints after the previous night’s “wog”.

Day/Weight/Previous Day’s Comment
11/13 214.8 SWOOSH! Walked 4 miles morning + 1 mile evening, gardening, tracked food, AF. Finally below 215 on my own scale and not just mom’s!
11/14 DNW @ Arkansas funeral Walked 2 miles. No plans to exercise today since we have the graveside funeral and long 6 hr drive both Friday & Saturday. Tracked but all meals at restaurants and mostly fried, 3 glasses of wine.
11/15 216.7 No exercise, long drive from Arkansas, tracked, AF. Oh and after the funeral there was a table full of desserts and another filled with brisket & fried chicken for the family … did indulge in a partial slice of homemade chocolate pie.
11/16 214.4 Walked 3 miles, tracked food and really focused on net carbs and no fried food even with unexpected lunch out with our son & his wife after church, AF. Got back into my healthy habit routine! Scale is back where is was last Monday and Friday after a roller coaster week.
11/17 215.0 Walked 4 miles morning + 1 mile evening, tracked food focusing on low net carbs, AF.
My daily weigh in is toggling up and down but the trend is lower. Reminds me of the saying "Weebles wobble but don't fall down" ... I'm not falling down or giving up!6 -

ONE Goal - track food and calories faithfully. Stop pretending that handful of peanuts or small bag of chips or 6 tootsie rolls don't matter. I'm a snacker and I've realized that's not going to change. What can change is my prep for snacking. Will spend this weekend making healthy/lo-cal things to snack on to replace chips, cookies, peanuts, etc. I love fruit but sometimes I need the crunch and chew that fruit doesn't provide.

@timlangan42 - I'm pretty jealous you are still biking this time of year. My bike has had a tune-up and is hung up for the season. I'm going to try to take the hybrid out a few times this winter, just so I don't have to build those base miles all over again next spring. But realistically those will be few and far between. I'm close to retirement and my plans are to bike all over this world. I have a long list of places to see and ride. This year has put a serious halt to my ride plans but, hopefully 2021 will be better.8

11/13: 208 / So, I have lost 6.8 pounds since Tuesday morning. Goes to show how much of a puffer fish I am. 😊 Going up tomorrow most likely.
And, yesterday included a Culver’s Mini Concrete Mixer…Oreo Flavor.
NSV: I actually pulled a half gallon of ice cream out of the freezer last night…thought about the consequences…and put it back unopened. That’s big for me. HA!
11/14: 207.6 / Sat in a tree stand last night trying to be cupid for the deer. Freezer needs to be restocked. None were close enough, but they looked like they did not need cupid’s help. That time of year. P.S.: I don’t hunt for anything that I will not eat.

11/15 - DNW

11/17 - 151.7 - Up and down up and down. Think its because I got a little more water in? Also took my allergy meds and some mucus/congestion relief, not sure how much an impact that made. Need to take some again, I'm still not feeling great in my sinuses. Causing a dull chronic headache all day yesterday and seems to be looking like that again today. I can breathe through my nose fine and my throat is a little less sore (less postnasal drainage, I'm guessing) but still not 100% better. I feel so sleepy but can't tell if that's from the constant slight headache and my body wanting to sleep all this off or what. Didn't get shivers last night, thankfully, so slightly more restful sleep. Only fasted 15.25hrs yesterday as BF made breakfast again for me (usually he only makes for himself so I think its just a matter of him being home and able to cook again he's making mini-feasts in the morning for us. Dinner was chili and I added some rice for the filling factor- I was STUFFED! Water wasn't great, didn't quite meet goal but I also had a couple large mugs of tea I didn't track. Bought some more tea that I think will soothe my throat better and some other teas for that caffeine punch. Already have the sinus headache, no need to intensify it with slight caffeine withdrawals (usually not bad for me if I'm feeling well, but feeling unwell always makes it feel worse). Taking it easy today - think we are working on the VW bug to get it road-ready before the weekend when BF will be gone Friday and then we all unload Saturday. Hopefully I'll feel better then by taking a few down days.

Previous Day's Comments11/13 - Dropping down. TOM is settling out finally and I'm feeling less bloated and heavy from it. THANKFULLY. That was miserable. Today I will be cleaning the bedroom in preparation for the reorganization and set up of the new bed. Not sure when BF will return. Either tomorrow or Sunday but I'd rather have it ready than not at all. Today, if the rain allows, I'll set up my garden with the new trellis. I've gotten spinach this week, too. I've planted one, but I bought a second small plant and want to plant that today before the worst of the rain. Hoping it holds off long enough for me to get out there after I've finished my coffee. Nothing terribly exciting going on.
11/14 - I don't know. Heavy dinner? There was a slice of pizza involved. I don't know otherwise. Met my minimum water goal and if you count my evening tea, I met my 75oz goal. Fasting has been going well since that day I was insatiably hungry. Between 16 and 17hrs daily. BF is coming home today, he's already on the road at this time. Its about 8-8.5hr drive so he'll be here for dinner. The pup will be very happy, as will I.
11/15 - DNP
11/16 - Yesterday was not good. I only got about 2 or 3 hours of good sleep. Woke up shivering for about 2 hours straight before falling asleep for only another hour. I didn't feel cold, but my body wouldn't stop shivering. Not quite sure what that was. Didn't weigh and didn't have the energy to get off couch to get my laptop to post. I just wanted to curl up and watch my football uninterrupted. Ended up making salmon last night for dinner with Fam, though, since we provided the fish and scallops. BF hadn't had a home cooked meal in a week so I wasn't going to allow him to cook, either. Then the dog decided to wake me up an hour early this morning and I'm quite cranky. I'm still feeling lack of sleep from yesterday. Feeling bloated, especially in the lower belly. Up near ribcage seems normal, which is an odd type of bloat for me. Usually my entire abdomen feels fluffy/squishy. Probably due to not fasting long at all - BF made us breakfast since it was his first morning home. Today, I want to hit 16hrs if possible. Wish I didn't have work so I could nap, I need it.

11/17 - Nothing yesterday as my throat hurt and my sinus headache didn't fade like I had hoped. Still struggling with it so taking it easy and letting my body recover. I know I can walk a 5k so long as I can mentally keep myself busy and running it with such short notice with training won't be smart. I'll stick to walking it, hopefully sooner rather than later. I may do it early, on Friday when BF is gone, if I'm feeling better. I'll have to take the pup so my time will be slow, but I won't have much else to do as I'm off work and he's gone.

Day/Weight/Calories Previous Day/Walking/Comment
11/13 - 182.8 - 1107
Yesterday was a good day all around — low calories, no snacks, and a nice 3.5 mile walk along the river and hit my first Turkey Trot goal. I’m aiming for 4 miles today. I’m feeling energized! 🏃🏽♀️
11/14 - 182.8 - 1118
Yesterday was fine overall. I didn’t do my long walk but did several shorties, though I’m not counting them toward my Turkey Trot goals. Planning at least 4 miles today on my favorite stretch of the Rivergreenway. When I was there Thursday, among other treats I saw an old sycamore FULL of birds (couldn’t see what they were with the sun in my eyes) and a gorgeous big abandoned hornets’ nest suspended from a branch and visible now that the leaves have fallen. I’m taking my camera today!
Enjoy your Saturday. Be safe!
11/15 - 182.6 — 1157
More short walks yesterday, probably a couple of miles worth. I won’t be out today — rain and very high winds. I have plenty to do inside, so all good. Have a lovely Sunday, all!
11/16 - 182.2 — 1216
No walk yesterday — we had temps in the low 30s and high winds all day with 60 mph gusts. Today is chilly but without the wind, so I’m aiming for at least 3 miles.
11/17 - 182 - 1295
I went for a lovely 4.25-mile walk yesterday on a new-to-me trail. The full trail is 4.5 miles, so one of my goals is to walk it all the way out and back. Probably not until spring, though. I ate a little more than I have been eating the past few days, but still well below maintenance, and no snacking! Yay! It’s really chilly today, but I’m going to try to get at least a short walk in this afternoon. I’m feeling much more in control, finally!

@CamandJarvis I keep “Throat Coat” tea by Traditional Medicinals on hand at all times. When I first got it, I had to get it at a health food store but Walmart usually carries it these days. An odd taste at first but it really seems to help for whatever reason.7

Round 131 End Weight: 175.9
Round 132 Goals: Continue to Track & Make Healthy Food Choices, Minimize Alcohol, 30 Minutes Intentional Daily Movement, Lose 1.5 pounds
Day/Weight/Comment
11/13: 175.9 No change from yesterday but that was a big drop, so no worries there. On track with logging and staying at a deficit, AF currently on a 5 day streak (no plans to drink any time soon), and eating IF 16/8.
11/14: 175.7 A little drop from yesterday, so that's good! I was super tired yesterday when I woke up. My FitBit showed 41 times "awake" and 51 times "restless" during the previous night's sleep, so even though I know that FitBit sleep data isn't 100% accurate, I for sure had a bad night. Not enough sleep is a definite sabotage for me and while I wanted to give in and eat junk & drink wine, I did not and stayed the course, AF, IF 16/8, and all healthy food choices in a deficit. Other than that it was a dreary raining day, so I took a rest day but will be out running today.
11/15: 175.4 Had a nice long sleep in yesterday morning and then went for my run. Run felt pretty good but I'm a minute off where I would like my pace to be, but I'll keep plugging away and get there. NSV of the day, I made homemade pumpkin bread, logged the recipe and had a just a small slice that fit in my calories and was still at a deficit (I don't eat any exercise calories back unless I am distant running). Still AF and IF 16/8.
11/16: 174.6 Nice drop and puts me officially back in the "overweight" category, and out of the the much more upsetting category I've been hovering in since quarantine started. I will not go back to that! My AF streak continues and still IF 16/8 for eating.
11/17: 174.6 No Change from yesterday. Feeling a little bloated from yesterday, thinking too much sodium in my dinner. Lots of fluids today! Waiting for it to warm up a bit and then planning on getting a run in on my lunch hour. I need 6 more runs before our Turkey Trot next week. I've also got my local Turkey Trot that I normally do, which is also a virtual event this year. I'll miss lining up with everyone on Thanksgiving morning to run but I won't miss having to do it so early, it is usually about 19 degrees F when that race starts!

11/12 …..207.4….. ENDING WEIGHT LAST ROUND
11/13 …..207.6….. I was horribly and uncontrollably hungry yesterday. My choices weren’t too bad but the quantities were disgusting.
11/14 …..210.0 ….. OMGosh! A friend brought Chinese Food over from out-of-town yesterday. I’m in shock. All low carb/low cal veggies for today and praying for no sugar drop as I compensate.
11/15 …..208.6 ….. Lost some of the bloat. Stuck to mainly healthy as planned yesterday. I will try to do the same today although I am already fighting the hunger from such low cal yesterday. I can do this…… Horrible cold rain today. Better than the usual snow I suppose. Gloomy.
11/16 …..207.2 ….. I continue to work that bloat back down. I have been getting in lots of movement to the point of being sore. I wouldn’t call it exercise. Just hard work. However, every burned calorie counts, right?
11/17 …..209.0 ….. Big time fluid retention. Very little water shedding (or TMI either). Quantities and meal sizes were good. Choices…meh. Today is the last day for restaurants in my state. I will probably have a carry-out meal tonight with my son. Otherwise, I will try to stay mindful.

Join us! If we stay mindful we can do this, you can do this.
Welcome back past members, welcome new members, let's keep each other accountable for another 10 days!
Here is what you do: Post your daily weight and add little comments along the way of how your day went. Post everyday to let us know how you're doing! Copy and paste the days in your response--tell us how much you lost and other non scale victories (NSV) you'd like to share.
FOR NEWBIES - I find it easiest to copy the dates to a document or note in my device and edit it each morning. Then copy and paste to the message board. MFP will return you to the spot on the board where you left off on your previous visit which is nice to know if you like to scan all of the posts.

For those of you wondering why my life has been turned upside down:
Last spring I decided to sell my two motel/cabin businesses and my home and go into an early retirement. Since my husband passed away 4 years ago, it has been difficult for me to manage (especially in maintenance) by myself. I live with my autistic son who can only offer minimal help.
My goal was to find a home in my area to stay near my children and grandchildren. To find the right buyers for my loyal guests and to find something that would offer space to set my son up for his own full apartment to teach him more independence. I managed to do all that but it was quite a journey.
The house I found was being managed by a Court Conservator because the homeowner was diagnosed with Alzheimers. The goal was to get the sale through the court before her death (sadly) so that it would not enter into a lengthy probate process.
Finally after 7 months of paperwork and prayer, my business has sold and I have closed on both properties and on my new home also. These past few weeks I have spent trying to continue to run the business during very very heavy hunting seasons (Sept 14-Nov 14 bird, bear, bow, small game) and (Nov 15-Nov 30) Deer Rifle). I have also been working with the new owners who have occupied the other business and are coming to the business where I reside for training. This is a painstaking process.
I am now, also, in the middle of packing and moving things. My home becomes more bare by the minute. There is much to do at the new house. Adding gas lines. Fixing some plumbing. Replacing the well bladder, getting internet (where there never was any) and phone service hooked up. Getting Directv hooked up (where there never was any). Dryer Vents, Dishwasher and extra phone lines are on the agenda today.
I look forward to logging more consistently again in the very near future. I look forward to more movement and exercise when I am finally in my new home and retired. In the meantime, I appreciate ALL THE SUPPORT and the CARE AND KINDNESS and ALL THE PATIENCE this group have given me. I will get back in that saddle again, I promise! I will keep weighing in, keep reporting and try my best not to blow my fitness goals too bad. During the final part of my business process, just know that I APPRECIATE EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU. You are all MAKING A POSITIVE AND WONDERFUL DIFFERENCE IN MY LIFE and I THANK YOU FOR THAT.12 -

I've never heard of that! I'll have to look it up and see if my WalMart has it. I got earl grey and a honey lemon ginger tea, plus got some honey to add to hot water to help coat. Feels better already with my earl grey with a dash of honey. Took my congestion meds and the sinus pressure is easing off a bit. Hoping this trend continues! Focusing on water and then I'll grab another mug of tea, I think.
Worst part? I want the honey to help soothe, but I had to break my fast at just over 12hrs to incorporate. Ugh! A couple days of shorter fasts are fine if it helps me bounce back faster, I think. Will keep it up and take allergy meds in hopes I can stop any additional before it starts.4
