I found some additional motivation.
I was looking at some really cute dresses online and realised that they would look really frumpy on me at this weight, but if I were to slim down, they would look really good.
I've literally just realised that if I hit my goal weight, I can wear clothes that I like, not just clothes that like me. And the money saved from takeout can go on a fashion splurge. When I hit goal, I'm going to start dressing differently and I'm going to enjoy it.
So, now as well as the health motivation, I have a pretty shallow motivation, so I have all bases covered for all moods in this journey! Feeling that little bit more determined now.25 -
I was munchy. It's TOM. I said, "Fine, you can have it, sit down and do five minutes on the bike first."
I forgot I wanted it.32 -
I was cleaning up some errors on my spreadsheet today. I noticed something that made me smile.
I had been at my goal, but since October have been slowly gaining mass. It's a big bother. Then while doing that spreadsheet maintenance, I happened upon the original goals I had set for myself when I started my journey. I've tightened those goals up and made them more rigorous, but if I look at the goal I ORIGINALLY set for myself, I'm there. I think I left those goals in place for just this reason. I'm still focused on my revised goals, and I'll get there, but it's good to be able to see my success even in light of not feeling like I'm quite there yet.24 -
Transitioning my exercise routine from gym to home is necessitating a wardrobe shift. It’s getting cold and tank top and capris are not cutting it. I was having a hard time finding reasonably priced women’s activewear that I could layer AND that would be bright enough to help visibility outdoors just after dawn or at night.
And then I realized...I have in desperation worn a few of my 9 and 11 yo sons’ shirts this fall when caught without a warm top, so I can buy boys’ activewear tops! Cheap, layerable, and bright colored. XL is if enough to wear over other tops, L is for a tighter fit. And when that stuff goes on sale is super cheap—I got a $9 rain jacket yesterday! Perhaps not the cutest, but since I’m not at a gym no one really sees what I’m wearing anyway.24 -
Fitting into winter clothes from a few years back for which my arms used to be too fat.19

Old Navy has low prices and decent selection. Low prices means that their sizing is a bit inconsistent and sometimes there are other signs of sloppy construction (off-center pattern etc), but if you are looking for something inexpensive to keep you clothed and warm at a weight you hope to leave soon, it's a good option. Generally lasts only 1-2 season's wear though.
So, maybe this winter you're a XXL and expect to be down to XL or L next winter, it's not so financially painful to buy clothes you're only going to fit this year and (hopefully) never again.
From your pic that might not be the issue for you--the photo makes it look like you are on the body building rather than weight-loss arm of the site. In any case, old navy is cheap enough to be 'disposable' if that is what you need in your current wardrobe.
PS: if you are willing to spend a little more for something that will last longer, do a web search on 'reflective tights'. Athleta has some very nice ones for $108 right now (don't put in the dryer though it degrades the reflectivity), but other manufacturers have options at a lower price point. I suggest looking at the Athleta website and search 'reflective tights' to see examples of the category and then looking elsewhere for less expensive variations on the theme.
Remember that Under Armor is the company that owns and underwrites MFP, so all else being equal toss them a bone by buying from them if they have offerings in this category.3 -
Cooked two pies last night for the first time in my life ( Blueberry my favorite and pecan) and I didn't even give it a taste.10

I've logged my food for 100 days in a row today. I've never had such a long streak. I'm not feeling hugely different but hopefully I'll reap the benefits soon. I'm also nearly halfway through c25k. Finding it tough but I always feel great once it's done.16

Ran 30 uninterrupted minutes yesterday - it's been years of injury, surgery and fat WOOT!32

I fit in my favorite red dress again! It's a size 628

Starting to look at errands differently. I’ve now gone to Target (8 mile round trip) a few times, the donut shop to get the kids’ Saturday treat (10 m rt), and just got back from delivering food to a sick friend (14 m rt) on my bike. Instead of thinking how I can squeeze in my errand and my workout, I realized I can combine them and actually save some time.
Obviously not a revolutionary realization, but for someone who doesn’t live in a walkable/bikeable community (or at least not one where people do errands on foot/bike—there are plenty of exercise walkers/runners/bikers, but
I rarely see people actually going somewhere that way) its a pretty big mindset shift!26 -

Bikes are great! I need to start using mine as my main transportation again. This time of year I take the truck anyway - wet leaves, especially if there's frost in the morning, spell a trip to the doctor.2 -
Disconnected from a toxic "friend" who was nice as long as I completely agreed with everything he said, but the minute I questioned his point of view or even dared to bring forth my own thoughts he called me uncultured and unsympathetic. I'd been in awe of his intellect, but smarts don't excuse dominating others and shutting them up. I feel emotionally 10 pounds lighter!33

I went to a hockey tournament last weekend that I hadn't planned on, didn't plan/bring my food or log either Saturday or Sunday. So no surprise when the scale was up more than 2 pounds yesterday morning. I had a mini goal to get down below 160 by Thanksgiving and I'm not sure that will happen now, but I'm back on track with my calories goals! I wanted to eat the last donut yesterday but I didn't! I didn't let a loose weekend derail this most recent "back at it"! The last three tries to get back at it, I would've given up with the scale being up that water weight and justifying having "just one more donut" by the "might as well, I've already messed up my plan". I'm loving this thread so I have a place to celebrate these little things!14

I have a bed that's very low to the ground. This morning I got up quickly and easily. That has been happening for some time now, but for a moment I remembered how much trouble I used to have getting up and how much pain I was in when I awakened. Now my back doesn't hurt when I wake up and coming off the floor is like nothing. My NSV is that this has become routine, and I had to consciously think about it to notice it!20

Iv got a few. I have had a very good couple of months, probably the best I have ever had weight loss wise. Your not ment to discuss the scale in here so ill just say its moving in the right direction.
*my doctor has lowered the pressure setting on my cpap machine by one thing. I can't tell the difference, but its nice to know its going down. A major goal of mine is to get rid of it.
*I bought a shirt off the shelf at the regular size people store. Sure it was there biggest one, but still it fits fine. Normally I have to go to the big guys store or shop online.
*this will sound silly, but I have always worn undy type underwear, boxers were not comfortable for me, and would rip. Iv have now bought boxer shorts and they fit fine. Might sound stupid but it feels great.
*random people are starting to notice my weight loss, and it feels awesome.31 -
I now wear a smaller bra band than my mother ever has as an adult. And I still have 80 pounds to lose.12
-
I can comfortably wear my wedding ring again. My hands and fingers are now slim24

I made chocolate chip cookies and lemon bars on Sunday for my kids. I have eaten one cookie and one lemon bar per day since then. In the past, I would have easily eaten five cookies straight as they came out of the oven easily.24
